Do not turn your back "just for a second" on your kid in the highchair when there is a jar of baby food with a spoon sticking out of it on the tray. They will reach for that spoon in that second, spill the jar all over the tray, and proceed to finger paint with it.

Do not leave you baby on the floor by himself to attend to your potty training toddler, because he WILL use that alone time to FINALLY figure out how to move the inside arm when rolling back to belly. Congrats kiddo, sorry I missed it.

Probably best not to throw your kid up in the air while standing in the room with the lowest ceiling in your house. Sorry, kiddo.

Tummy time on your chest is also not a good idea after eating. Nor is the wiggle dance.

Mine is forever in a perpetual mom ponytail, but it still doesn't stop her from grabbing the top of my head with two hands in an attempt to stand.

If you pick your kids nose they will get you back. LO loves to shove fingers up my nose. Lol

Just bc your parents and IL had kids and raised them successfully or reasonably so does not mean they remember ANYTHING about having a baby. There is obviously some crazy haze descends on your mind after your kids aren't babies.

This is a biological mechanism so parents forget how hard babies are and have more kids.

It's not a good idea to do solids after LO eats an extra large bottle. Bc with solids come some gagging....and gagging + lots of liquids in the tummy == PROJECTILE.VOMITING

It was bad! Sooooo bad!! I did not know a human being could do that IRL.

My ILs are the worst about not remembering what it was like with little kids. Especially FIL. I really do like my FIL but I feel like he was probably pretty useless with kids when they were little.

I swear I will try to remember this when my girls have kids of their own. I want to try to help them out as much as I can and remember that even though babies are cute, as a grandma I at least get a full night's sleep

My dad looks so uncomfortable holding a baby I find it hard to believe he did anything when we were super little. I am really close to him and I have good memories of him as a dad, but if you told me he never changed a diaper I would totally believe it. My mom just seems a little out of touch with reality and also just admits that she doesn't remember anything. MIL is like delusional but in a funny way... According to her H was rolling both ways in the hospital and could crawl at like 2 months. He could walk and talk by the time he was LO's age...

Haha your mil sounds like mine. Apparently dh was 29 inches tall at birth and 6 lbs 6 oz and 6 weeks early.
With her daughter she apparently was "ripped end to end" and required 100 stitches.


Oh and the very first thing bil said was "pass the ketchup please".

I know from talking with MH that FIL is entirely useless with littles(he worked third shift and slept most of the day when they were kids).

MIL on the other hand is super proactive in learning the latest things about kids and is extremely helpful. I will try to so the same when my kids are old enough.

If you don't want to share your food, eat when the toddler is asleep.

The one time you use foul language in front of them, they will pick it up and use it whenever they can. Example: Isaac knocks over some books
Stomps his feet "Damn it!!!"

Once you get the toddler down for a nap, the baby will always wake up!
