NBR: What stays out on your kitchen counter?

I am trying to reduce the clutter.  What appliances stay out?  Where do the other ones live?

Our kitchen is a work in progress. Right now the appliances that are out and stay out are the Foreman Grill and toaster oven.

We don't drink coffee, so the coffee maker lives in the pantry with the blender and food processor. The kitchen scale is in another caninet and the pizza sandwich maker is actually in a bin in the breezeway waiting to be unpacked.

I just reorganized all my kitchen cabinets to make room to reduce clutter this weekend! All I have out now is a toaster oven and one of the 3 piece canister sets for sugar, flower, etc.

We don't have any appliances out except the microwave. We don't have a toaster oven. We rarely drink coffee, so the coffee maker is in the cabinet, along with the blender, toaster, George Foreman grill, and griddle. We have way too little counter space to keep anything out.

Microwave, Keurig, toaster oven, regular coffee pot and kitchen aid. We could probably get rid of one coffee maker, but I use the Keurig to make hot water to warm bottles for daycare kids and my H won't use it for coffee. His engineering mind can't get over the fact that you can't see all of the inside to clean it.

Toaster oven and Keurig. I just put the kitchen aid mixer ijba cabinet at Christmas, when I got the toaster oven. It is really annoying lugging it out all the time, but I hate having the counter look so cluttered.

Container for most used cooking utensals


We really don't keep any small appliances out but we have plenty of cabinet space so that's where they live.

We also have a spice rack and bananna hook out.

The v blade slicer is in the pantry too. Oh and our microwave hangs over the stove/oven, so out but not on the counter

I have a Kitchenaid hand held mixer. I love baking and this does the job without taking up so much space. It even has whisk and dough hook attachments.

My mixer lives in a cabinet.

The toaster oven, microwave, and electric tea kettle are the only appliances on our counter. We also have most of our serving spoons in a cannister and our knives in a block, as well as a 1' x 1' wooden spice cabinet that was a wedding gift. Cutting boards live on top of the microwave. As long as we keep the kitchen clean, we have plenty of counter space.

Toaster, keurig, and kitchenaid mixer. We don't have a microwave. We have little canisters that stay out and a holder with big cooking utensils.

The toaster oven and KitchenAid mixer are the only ones that stay out all the time. The microwave is mounted over the stove, so while it's out, it's off the counter, which I love. Other appliances (slow cooker, griddle, popcorn popper, hand blender, etc) live in cupboards. We redid our 1960's era kitchen three years ago and I love it. We don't have a tonne of counter space, but we have lots of cupboards.

I also realized I did not mention my coffee maker, mostly because that is not a kitchen appliance, that's like my IV drop.

I love this thread! We just decluttered for our move, and I am majorly on a mission to keep it sparce. Right now we have a knife block and a keurig. Dh likes the toaster out, but I like it in the cabinet, so its both?
We also have a bowl of fruit and a candy jar out.

Coffee maker, electric kettle, knife block, kitchenaid. Everything else is stored in our kitchen bench--it's a 6' long bench with a hinged lid and nothing but storage space inside. It rests against the back wall of our kitchen and the kids sit on it at meal times (it is slightly taller than our kitchen chairs, eliminating the need for a booster seat for Rhys). Dh made it and j love it.

RE: KitchenAid mixers: We have the professional 600 series and I freaking LOVE it. Pricey, but worth every penny.

We keep the mixer, the coffeemaker, and the toaster out. The microwave is on the baker's rack, not the counter, so I won't count that. Plus our canisters that have flour, sugar, etc. in them, and the spice rack. And a tub of kitchen tools (spatulas, whisks, etc.). So... basically way too much stuff for our tiny counter, but aside from the mixer it's stuff we use almost every day, so it would be a bit of a pain to store it and have to get it out every time. And since the mixer is a bit of a monster, it's just easier to keep in the corner and pull it out a bit than to store it elsewhere, even though we only use it once or twice a month.

Coffee pot and microwave. Sometimes the deep fryer if we are on a crap food kick LOL The toaster is in the bread cupboard. The waffle iron is on a pantry shelf. The blender and hand mixer are in the cupboard over the sink.

toaster, food processor, Kitchenaid mixer, and espresso machine stay out. The rest is stored in a cabinet below that (blender, waffle maker, regular coffee pot, etc.). Then on another counter I have a filing system for paper work, a CD player, and a shredder - this area usually is just filled with random paper and clutter. No matter how hard I try to keep it organized, it's just the catch-all for junk.
