Uhh I think I have a breast infection - if that's even a thing. I've been suffering for a few days now with shooting pain and red hot spots near my nipple. My mom convinced me to call the nurse this morning. I hope they don't think I'm an over paranoid first time pregnant lady.
mikaela20 Do you have a fever in addition to the pain and red spots? I had mastitis earlier this summer (a little before my BFP) and was running a fever of 101-102 in addition to breast pain, redness, and inflammation in the affected area. Apparently it's possible to get it during pregnancy, even if it's your first one, so I'd definitely be calling the doc and getting treated for it.
Oh maybe that's what happening! I don't own a thermometer so I'm going to grab one before work to check if I have a fever incase the nurse asks. I don't feel like I have a fever though.
We finally have a weekend without any company after a month straight of visitors. DS appears to be getting over his cold finally so we're going to take him to the car and air show going on this weekend. He loves both cars and airplanes so I think he'll have a total blast.
Car and airshow sounds fun amandamh2 - I always like air shows and never go anymore.
I walked in to a billion emails. I have a lot to do today and it's cloudy and cool and I just want to curl up and nap all day. I found out another coworker is pregnant, and I know when my office-neighbor is due now. I really want to know when the second coworker is due because my office-neighbor kept it quiet until 20 weeks apparently.
AFM- I'm going to a conference today, so happy to be out of the office! I'm having a fancy lunch with some of my girlfriends, too. I'm already plotting what I am going to order.
Drywall is going up in our basement today, I'm hoping he will be able to get that done so we can do some work ourselves over the weekend.
Currently sitting and waiting for our car to get inspected, H is home with DD. He just texted me yelling at me because I opened some windows before I left, because it's gorgeous out and perfect weather to air the house out a bit (it's about 50 and beautiful this morning). He said I'm crazy, I said he's from CA and chose to move to Nh and marry a New Englander so put on a sweatshirt and get over it

Hope all the sickies feel better soon!
I too am beyond happy its Friday! H's best friend is coming in for a visit this weekend. They're heading down to Louisville tonight though so they can be there in the morning for college gameday. Then they're going to the FSU/Louisville game (diehard FSU fans). I'm secretly happy that I'll have my Friday night alone once I get DD down. I get to watch whatever I want! However, I'm not super thrilled that I cleaned my entire house and H's friend will barely even be there. Why did I do that?!
., mikaela20 and @justinslovo I hope you all feel better quickly! I'm at work today and feeling so tired still. But that's ok because it's almost the weekend!!! There will be no time for extra sleep tomorrow because of the baby shower we're hosting but hopefully DH will let me sleep in Sunday and/or I can nap when DD naps Sunday. It's sad how much I look forward to/plan for my next session of extra sleep (even a few days out)

TGIF- what a long week it's been for me.
I don't want to scare you but if you're in pain don't let them dismiss your worries. I did last time around and it sucked. Red hot spots are a sign of mastitis.
Edit cause I was late posting: definitely monitor yourself. It's probably fine but if you get a fever call back.
I had mastitis twice even though I didn't breastfeed. Long story short they ignored me and I ended up with a 104° fever and needed drains for accesses in both beasts.
Gotta love when the inspection on a car you've owned for just over a year (2012 CRV...55k miles) ends up needing $900 worth of work to pass inspection.
Also, H texted a pic of the u/s to his older brother and younger sister yesterday to announce to them (they live on the other side of the country). His sister was very excited...his brother didn't respond. Said brother texts H overnight with an unrelated questions. When H asked if he ever got his group text, his response was, "yep". This brother is early 30s, lives at home, and now that he has a job, spends his $ on new cars and motorcycles instead of, you know, moving out. (Can you tell I'm pissed?). He is a nice guy, just doesn't have his life together and it annoys me to no end. *End rant*

Omg that sounds awful! I'm definitely going to monitor this closley. The nurse was a bit dismissive and wasn't concerned with the sharp pains or redness- only if I had a fever, chills or feeling of unwell that went along with it. But seems if it gets worse, I will have to deal with the hospital emergency to have it looked at.
They do hurt bad when the sharp pain happens. I hope thats not how bad breast feeding feels like at first. :s
Is there anything you did at home to relieve the pain? Would icing it help?
For once, I can say TGIF! lol In some freak accident (had to be!), I got Saturday and Sunday off!
mikaela20, hope you feel better soon. Pain sucks, no matter the reason. On the bfing thing.. if it does hurt like that when you start breastfeeding, find a lactation consultant. I didn't.. waited too long to get help, ended up exclusively pumping for nine months because I was terrified of my daughter latching on. The second, I got help and it was amazing.

Back when they told me to use ice and try to massage the hard area. FX it's nbd.
Fwiw, mine went from 2 to an 11 quickly just be careful it may go away but if you get worse be persistent with them. It took me and DH going in and showing them how bad they had gotten.

moutonrouge, we're on an airforce base so every day is like a mini airshow haha. Yesterday we had a fighter jet here randomly even though they aren't based here and DS was in love. He seems to share his pilot dad's love of anything big and fast.
Today is this first day I feel better! I still have antibiotics to take but that will be over soon.
I've been cleaning like a mad woman and DS is "helping". He has a mini vacuum like our big one and he's following me around to clean behind me. If I could teach him to really dust I'd be in business.

I think I'm having some RLP today. I've also got a blump going much earlier in the day than usual - I feel gross.
I thought I felt movement last night, like a little flutter or twitching not too far from where they found the heartbeat 2 weeks ago. But it also could've been my guts saying hi, so who knows.
