I am on the fence...I am in between photographers. One is very whimsical and soft colors provides dresses and props. She loves soft colors and soft light, fuzzy pictures.
The second strong colors pictures outside with vibrant colors. I am just at a loss...anyone have this issue?
I will post some pics of their stuff thanks for your help.
I really like #2. I like the vibrant(and realistic)colors. The poses seem more natural and real(well, as real as a couch in a field can be). Plus, if photog one provides everything then your photos will look just like those. I guess I'd want something that didn't look like other people's pictures and had a taste of my own personality in it.

Are you considering either of them for newborn photos? We used that photographer for our maternity photos. FWIW I agree with everyone above in preferring option 2.
I prefer #1. It looks like #2 doesn't have a lot of self-control when it comes to the saturation filter in Photoshop. (also, that baby in a bucket and the velvet couch outdoors fall into WTF territory for me)

First, I like them both so I don't think you can go wrong. I think the pictures from #1 are a tad more timeless and in 10 or 30 years they will still be beautiful. #2 seems a little more trendy.

#2 for me definitely. But I think some of it is bc with DS's newborn photos they were more like #1 (baby sleeping in most of them and lots of cute hats) and this time I've picked a photographer more like #2 (less soft and hopefully more pics of us interacting with baby).
I think other people have pretty much covered it, but I agree on #2 with some caveats. I would prefer to stay away from the super trendy photos, like placing babies in completely ridiculous scenarios or the couch in the field. However, I love the colors and I'm a sucker for outdoor shoots.
Maybe this is a dumb question, but have you seen newborn photos from inside the studio? I think the ones above were taken outside unless that's some serious photoshop work. I'd be curious to see more of the newborn photos taken during the winter. I also personally love the soft creams of the newborn pictures from option #1, I wonder if #2 could work with you to get some of the softer photos in general if that's what you'd be missing.

I would say #1, only because you are using the same photographer for newborn pictures as well. I think #2 would do great family or maternity pictures, but I think she overdoes it for what I expect to see in newborn pictures, IMO.
