Speaking of christmas, I realized this weekend that my destructive toddler will be into opening his own gifts this year. And probably everyone else's. And ripping ornaments off the tree. Maybe he'll surprise me though. I'm meeting someone to buy a 6 panel play yard to put around the tree though, just in case.

I realized this as well when we were at my parents' house over the weekend picking up some more random things. Among them was a paper bag I just have full of plastic ornament balls I use to fill some vases. DS naturally gravitated towards the sparkly balls and started chucking them across my parents' foyer. I joked that we should just decorate the tree from the halfway point up, but we'll probably just see how things go, keep the breakables away from the bottom, and have our big baby gates that can work as a play yard on standby as well.

alayne926 mine keeps saying I'm not logged in. It seems to do this every couple of weeks and I usually have to fully close the app and reopen it, but then it changes all of my settings.
The trees behind our yard are perfect yellow and it looks like it's going to be as nice as a day as it will be this afternoon so I'm going to play around with my camera some more after H gets home and hopefully get a couple good family shots! We shall see how that goes anyway.

alayne926, Tapatalk has been giving me issues for about a week now. It never refreshes and I don't get any notifications.
For Christmas I have giant boxes that I wrapped up, filled with old textbooks and put around the tree the past 2 years. They are too heavy for the girls to move and just tall enough that B won't be able to climb up. It worked surprisingly well. DD1 only tried to unwrap them once. We'll see how this year goes!
I'm home sick today with the cold that will not die. I feel like I haven't been around since school started because all I've been doing is work, LO and more work. Hmm maybe that's why the cold won't die.

This is a great idea! We never bought a fully enclosed baby jail and surely not going to buy one now. Now I just need to get a big box that I can use between now and Thanksgiving.
Still not going to put anything breakable this year on the tree though. Makes me sad. Also might not be able to use our regular ornament hooks as LO still likes to chew on everything. I plan on going back to normal the following year though.

DH is convinced our neighbors have been murdered and the murderer is living in their house right now. All because he hasn't seen their cars leave the driveway and he didn't hear them watching the game this weekend.

My H is also obsessed with neighbor activity. In our old house he was convinced our neighbors, a friendly young couple with a child about a year older than DS, were drug dealers because their cars would leave at odd hours.
So far in the new neighborhood, he's obsessed with an old couple a few houses down, because he thinks it's bizarre that an older couple would move into a colonial in a neighborhood chock full of families with mostly young children.
Add me to the group dealing with Tapatalk issues. It logged me out for some reason and it took a couple days before I gave up trying and reset my password. I also don't get any notifications. We have decided to postpone looking at houses for now and will move to a bigger unit in our current building at the end of next month. I'm a little disappointed we weren't able to find anything, but I'm super excited that we still get to have more room anyway. You guys, E is finally going to have his own room!!

If you usually see them doing those things, maybe something really is up.
I don't really watch my neighbors as much as I should. I bet there's some good stories there.

budders, so far H and I have signed I think four incident reports - one time where DS got bit, and three where he was the biter. His teachers basically say the same thing, it's common for this age, and if it seems like he's going to do it/he's done it they give him the paci right now to try and prevent it, but you're just not going to catch it every time. It's frustrating because he actually rarely bites us at home, when he does, I know it's normally a combo of being tired/frustrated/teething, and we always give him a firm "no" and then put him down/re-direct, but there's not much else you can do (at least that I've figure out at this point). Hopefully both of our kids just grow out of the behavior soon.
My vampire child bit another kid at daycare today. That's the third time, second day in a row. It's frustrating because I wish there was something I could do about the situation, but since I'm not there it's really in the hands of the DCP. H said that she's been really good, and keeps telling him that tomorrow's another day and that it's common for this age, which I know, but I really don't want him to be THAT kid.
I promise you, he will grow out of it. LBB came home almost every day with bite marks from his best friend up until at least 2. But once his friend had more language skills, he stopped biting.

Add me to the biting child club. We've signed two incident reports so far but the we're both the same day and he hasn't done it since. He's still dealing with the cold/virus/whatever from hell so we kept him home yesterday and today. Thank god for grandma's.
I posted this in the other place but we had a bite today which I know is normal at this age but daycare didn't notice it at all and I found it in the bath. Has anyone found a bite that daycare just missed completely? I'm not too pleased. I know kids bite at this age but expect it to be reported and don't love finding bite marks on my baby. Am I overreacting?
Just went and looked at the picture. BH had a very similar bite last week. Same location, opposite arm. We also discovered it during bath. It would have been under his shirt, due to sleeves, so not as noticeable as uncovered skin.
As evidenced by my above post, I don't get too worked up over biting with preverbal kids, so I may be too laissez-faire for you. In the respect, feel free to disregard my opinion. I'm not overly concerned with the fact she didn't notice one bite (it's bottom of my list of concerns). Kids act differently away from home (or even just away from mama) so I don't know what his reaction was there.
Now if it becomes recurrent or habitual, I would be yanking my kid out of there as fast as possible.
