Traffic was a bear this morning. Accidents everywhere but roads were backing up shortly after 6. Sheesh. Plus side to my pumping time being decreased, I am getting out the door in the morning faster and getting to work earlier. Thank goodness!
Awful awful awful night here. Asleep at 7, awake at 9, awake at 11:15, awake 1:30-4, up at 7. I finally just started pushing her around the living room in her stroller because I could tell she wanted to be up right. DH wasn't able to offer much help and I kept telling him to go sleep on the couch or something so at least one of us would get some sleep, and he wouldn't. Grr. She was refluxing a lot spitting up a bunch this morning. She didn't eat anything really different nor did I. I don't know what she's reacting to. I probably need to start taking More foods out of my/our diet. It's so frustrating. I'm working from home today. I'm starting work by taking a nap (hopefully I can fall asleep).

EG got her first real "booboo" yesterday...she busted her lip at MILs house. It's between her lip and her nose and it looks like it would be sore, but it didn't seem to bother her last night. I felt so bad for her and I know MIL felt horrible about it, but she said EG didn't cry very long at all and went right back to playing.
We tried putting C back on the Zantac last night, and I don't know if it's a coincidence or it could really help that quickly but he slept better last night than he has in weeks and he woke up happy and smiley and well-rested this morning, and seemed to have a strong appetite for the bottle, which has been a real struggle lately. The more I think about the changes lately and the timing, I keep thinking maybe he's still dealing with reflux and he still needs the meds. Oh I hope it is as simple as that!
Thanks for the hugs ladies! I hate to be a broken record. Hoping for some new direction this time next week.
geners Indefinitely think it could help that fast. So glad things were better for you last night!!! So glad.
thatgirlrachel it shipped... DH enthusiastically ordered it, so I don't have the tracking info to stalk it and it's amazing how quickly little kids recover from booboos! I'm sure she's fine. I think these things are 99x worse for the parents.
byjove, just Googled the Dockatot. That thing is also super pretty. Hope it helps! You deserve all the sleep!
geners, glad C slept better and hoping this is the start of a good pattern for you guys.
I'm over here obsessing over LO's fever. I thought we had gotten past it. Yesterday she didn't run one at all, but was a little on the cool side (97-98). We had given her ibuprofen first thing in the morning and in the afternoon so that must have kept it at bay. I'm normally not one to go for the meds, but this thing has been sticking around a bit and H convinced me. She was sluggish yesterday, but came back around again towards evening. I put her to bed in her usual PJ's (footies) and sleep sack but since she was a bit cool I left the fan off. Went in at 1 and she had spiked a fever again! Damn! She was happy so I probably should have let it go, but I dosed her anyway and she went back to sleep. Still no fever back yet and it's almost 10am. But I called the doc and they said bring her in so they can double check since this has been going on for almost 4 days. Trying to keep all my medical anxiety in check. This is the first time it's really been tested since she was born.
ugh, just made an appointment with my PCP's office. I have a clogged duct that is red and swollen and feel like I'm getting a cold. I really hope I'm just exercising an abundance of caution. and now I'm really upset my previous PCP is gone because she's a certified lactation consultant.
in the meantime I've taken ibuprophen, started takeing lecithin again, I just pumped for like 30 minutes and had no success getting things unclogged, i'll try again after lunch.
I just had a phone call with my boss about a couple of projects we are working on. He told me to make sure I get some rest today too. I am so lucky to work with such great people. I am going to be so sad when he retires in a couple of years. A less understanding organization, and this year would be a whole lot worse for me.

I feel your pain! Some things that I used, a wide tooth comb and combing from the bottom up to the nipple to try and break it up. Also an electric toothbrush as the vibration can help.
Ultimately what has helped me finally get it loose was DH sucking it out. Told him he had to take one for the team.
Also I read, and started taking, evening of primrose oil and vitamin E to help with clog ducts.

Sadly no, can't even say it is so bad because of that. I am Gainesville to Lorton. 66 was backed up to Gainesville this morning before 6:30am. Seemed to be accidents everywhere.
I would shoot myself if I had to work down town. Just wouldn't happen from where I live.
So sorry about the rough night. That is awful. I hope you were able to take a nap.

I hate them so much. So so sorry.
Thanks, Iz managed to clear it nursing this afternoon. The doctor I saw thinks I just have a virus that's been going around, she said she could see my throat is inflamed. Hoping to get to bed early.

geners, saw the NP and we don't have anymore answers. Everything still checks out fine, minus the fever. They are perplexed. They have now checked ears, urine, and a strep swab. All fine. So far she has been fever free since 1 am though, so I'm hoping we're actually done. She did say they had seen several cases that day of similar stuff - fevers with no other symptoms lasting a few days - so that made me feel better. Fortunately she's been pretty happy through it all.

I'm glad she's in good spirits! What an odd situation. FX the fever continues to stay away!!

So after a day of no fever, she slept like crap and woke up with a rash. So I'm certain it's roseola now. Good news is that the rash isn't uncomfortable and she's over all the fever stuff. Hopefully she'll be back to normal and we can all get some sleep!
