Clara wouldn't go to sleep easy last night. The last time I went in she told me her eyes hurt. We woke her up this morning and her eye is completely swollen and almost swollen shut. Oops. I feel bad. Looked in it and it was super red. Gave her eye drops and she is home with MH until 2:30 when he has to leave to go teach. I will some how work from home at that time. I hope it is nothing.

It's weird to look at how much happens in the first ring of the spiral and that's just the first 4 weeks. From 3rd tri on in to the middle just looks like, "aaaaand outside baby, tada!"

My H went to a city board meeting last night because the aldermen were voting on a contract for his department (they've been without one for a bit now). Against all odds, it was passed! So that's great news for us.

I was getting worried that I hadn't heard about my NT bloodwork from last week yet, but they just emailed me to let me know I'm low risk for everything. I'm assuming actual results will be loaded into my online portal soon so I can see the actual odds, but I'm glad to have that behind me. Now I need to tell my boss and a couple closer friends, then we may be ready to announce publicly. I'd be happy just not announcing buy H really wants to, so we shall.

Grey's Anatomy comes back tomorrow!!!!!!! Finally I'll have something to look forward to every week again.

I made an egg sandwich for breakfast and instead of bread I used multigrain waffles. It was fabulous and that will probably be the best decision I will make all day.

It's rainy and humid here today. I'm awearing the same outfit as yesterday and hoping no one notices. (I was only in work til about 11) I have exactly one pair of maternity pants. (More on the way) The stuff I do have that fits is for Cooler weather- this is one of the few warm weather outfits I have that is dressy enough for work. Fall- where are you?

I feel this. I have some very cute sweaters and dresses and leggings for when the time comes. I'm really looking forward to some of them, but I'm worried it will be a long wait.

meggypoo1, I had mine on Thursday too. I actually ended up calling this morning and while I was waiting for a call back, conveniently, they updated my online portal and then called with the results. So I'm sure results came back sooner but they just hadn't gotten around to letting me know. With DD, I had blood drawn on a Friday and got results the next Tuesday, so I was super anxious waiting for these results. I figured that if results were bad I was more likely to hear back sooner anyways, so I'm sure your results are fine and they just haven't gotten around to it!

I have no idea if I should buy long sleeve maternity shirts. Last pregnancy I got a lot of them and sweaters and hardly wore them. Even in NH I was just too hot to wear long sleeves.

I'm thinking I may just wear those sweater coats over short sleeves. IDK.

I got up at 2 with my kid, he finally went back to sleep around 4. Was so excited to get up at 630 again simply to taste my new pumpkin pie creamer.

So I announced to my boss on Monday. It went about like I thought it would - her first sentence was "How exciting, good for you" immediately followed by a 20 minute conversation about what this means for her retirement and her project. Apparently I've single-handedly pushed back her retirement by probably 6 months which...there are variety of reasons why that's not remotely true, and she could retire on schedule while I'm gone. But still the guilt trip of that was not great.

I'm now trying to word an announcement email to the heads of the other projects I work on. I know they are (a lot!) more reasonable but I'm still anxious about it.

Usually we get along really well, and she is always looking out for me. I think I just really surprised her and she didn't filter any of her thoughts. It was a good learning experience for me - how not to handle this conversation on the boss end of things.

renegadewhit has the cat ever used a litter box? There is some additive you can get to attract them to it if it's new. Don't be surprised if the cat doesn't use it in the car while you're driving - when I moved from DC to NM, my cat would only use it in the hotels at night.

Speaking of hotels, don't let the cat out of the bathroom. They are notorious for finding hiding places. Even the coolest cat can get stressed out by changes in routine and freak. They can also get the nervous poops (cats: they're just like us!) and that's much easier to clean in a bathroom.

Oh, and they also like to hide under the brake pedal. Definitely contain in the car.

If your cat is familiar with and awesome in a car, disregard this post, but most cats aren't like dogs and do better with a contained space.

I would want some books on tape renegadewhit but mostly because I get motion sick if I read. I would also want some headphones and/or ear plugs in case the cat yowls the whole ride.

I second this!  On long car trips H and I like to listen to a book together - see if you can find an exciting one you will both enjoy.
