So I spend a lot of time online, and am on several moms' facebook groups. People ask things like, "what preschool that is 1-2 mornings/week still has spaces?" I have done copious amounts of research and make a couple of appropriate suggestions that meet all the criteria. Then people will suggest the most popular preschools in town that fill in December, popular daycares that require full time attendance, montessori schools that require 5 mornings/week, and other inappropriate things. If I know, I post "this fills in December, and usually only the 2 year-old class has spaces for the following year" or whatever. But no one ever likes my suggestions and 10 people will like the inappropriate most popular suggestions. Is it seen as me being critical of the person who made the terrible suggestion, or something? Does no one really want appropriate suggestions and just they want to hear what is most popular and try to get on waitlists?
Or someone posts "I can't find activities for my toddler at allow me to get to preschool pick up at 11." And then tons of people suggest popular toddler programs that begin at 10:30 and get tons of likes. Should I not post, "but this begins at 10:30?" If I post some legitimate suggestions that start at 9 AM, no one likes my post. Am I alienating people by being a know-it-all? I feel like I have vast amounts of activity knowledge, but maybe no one really wants it?
