I got my NT scan and swab results today. NT came back good. 1:33,000 risk for downsyndrome. I did more blood work and urine for second tri testing. Cervix was measured again and is long and closed.
One of my swabs came back with a positive bateria though - he called it UU for short. Im on 4 horse pills a day for 2 weeks, taken on an empty stomach. How will I have an empty stomach 4 times in a day!?
But I'm happy that's all I have to worry about right now.
No u/s pics because baby was hiding abit and not being cooperative for a pic. The Dr. tried to wiggle it a bit but all the baby did was stretch out its legs and go back to its nesting spot.
I had an appointment yesterday! Heart rate was 156 and kid was just dancing in there so cool. I know I have said it a lot but my ass still hurts from this damn progesterone shot. Feels like I got punched in the ass cheek. I'll be back weekly for the shot but my anatomy scan is officially scheduled for Oct 12. Yay!! I'll have to face the temptation of finding out the baby's sex but I think I can stay strong lol.
Holy crap some of you have your Anatomy Scans planned!!!
I called to see if I could switch my 16 week appointment (Oct.17) to an ultrasound rather than doppler. I'm hoping the doctor takes pity on my poor pgal brain and lets me have one more ultrasound before the 20 week mark.
cosmicav ouch! Those shots don't sound like fun at all. Sorry you need them weekly.
My butt is sorry too... lol...
But in all seriousness, if they do what they need to and prevent a preterm delivery (and subsequent baby nicu time), then I will gladly accept a bruised ass for the rest of my pregnancy! I just don't have anyone else to complain to, so forgive me y'all if I go on about this. My H is done with me talking about it lol
cosmicav bring on all the ass complaints! That's what I love about tcf, there are enough of us here to carry any burden that it gets split between us all. (Not that your ass is a burden, just in general) if I dumped everything on my H he would think I was a lunatic!

I've been taking two progesterone shots daily since late June. My upper butt/lower back is so bruised, and I have a couple golf ball sized lumps! I'm totally done with them this Saturday. 😬

Appt today went great even though I was worried about the new MW. Nice strong heartbeat! And baby even kicked the Doppler a bit haha my toddler did pretty good with his bag of fruit snacks of course.
Next appt is oct 17th and then a/s the 21st!! Kinda bummed the appt is before but I know they'll call if there are any concerns. I can't wait to see baby again and confirm gender

Hooray for being done with them soon! You are the real MVP getting them daily!!
I mentioned it in a random thread I think but my anatomy scan is October 14th! I'm really excited because I think that once I see the baby again and know the sex it will finally make this roller coaster a smooth ride. Lol
I'm still a little salty about my last appointment though. The nurse said weird weight comments and then said she had trouble finding the heart beat because "my stomach is tight for a second time mom". Alright then? IDK, it was a strange interaction.

We did the Progeniti test and (I think) 2nd trimester screening for me at the same time. No NT scan because the receptionist was a dipstick and doesn't know how to schedule appointments. (She also tried to schedule my anatomy scan too early. I was not pleased.)
Anyway, the screening revealed that I am a carrier for a specific type of cystic fibrosis that causes male infertility. My husband got to get his blood drawn, too, because if he's a carrier it is extremely likely that our child could have this CF, if it's a boy. (If you're curious, it causes the vas deferens to be absent. This strain does not cause the lung issues of traditional CF.)
So now my anatomy scan will be with a genetic specialist in town and I'm now waiting for my husband's blood work to come back, and that other office to call and schedule the scan. I'm bummed because the ultrasound techs at my normal office are awesome, but better safe than sorry.
kristhegirl I'm glad you're not a carrier for the type of CF with the lung issues! If YH is a carrier as well, will that change your mind on being team green this time around?
I'm not sure. I'll want more information - like is it "just" male infertility that is the concern with this type, or are there other things that we'll want to be prepared for?
At this point we're still going team green but as information changes we might change our mind.
I feel like this one's a boy, though. I don't get too precious about it because you know, 50/50 chance, here, and another girl would be a delight. But I feel like it's a boy.
cosmicav I thought all complaints go in bmbs? Lol. I will be compaining about having to starve myself to take my meds these next two weeks. Day one and I'm hungry and still have to wait 30 more minutes to take my first one of the day. Then wait an hour to eat. Won't make it.
kristhegirl I'm so sorry about this- thats stressful. I'm glad it's not the strain to cause lung issues though. I hope your H comes back negative for being a carrier.
My A/S is Oct 13. Yay! We will get to celebrate and AW our u/s pics together that week!
kristhegirl Sorry for the potential news. Did they give you an eta for his lab results?
A week, and then waiting for the other office to call and schedule the a/s. We went in Monday, so next week we should know a little more, and hopefully timing for the scan.
kristhegirl - I'm sorry for the potentially scary news. I hope the results come back quickly and that your H isn't a carrier.
I can't believe how close some people are to their anatomy scans! I'm not quite in second tri yet and I don't think mine will be until November. But I'm excited to follow along with everyone else for now.
