We are trucking along. H's family (mom, dad, sister, and 18 year old nephew) are visiting this weekend. MIL was going to cook us a dinner but H decided that he didn't want her rifling through our stuff to cook. I told H long ago that I was not cooking for 6 people while caring for a 2 month old, which is what he told MIL and what prompted her to offer to cook. So, H said he would make the one thing he can cook, BLT's. I am really glad that I won't have to check everything she is using to make sure it's allergen free.

Things are going OK. We're just been introducing new table foods as we have them (her new fav is pasta w/ sauce - so messy!). We've had some random eczema pop up, but mostly her skin is clear. And our doc said to keep going with foods, even if he causes eczema. We have our next GI visit on 10/24 (the day after she turns 1!) so I think we're going to try dairy then. I'm excited and nervous, but I have a month to get OK with it.
Big week for M. A new allergist tomorrow and endoscopy Wednesday. I'll update after that. Her reflux at night is just so bad. Can't wait to sleep again!
@ali7p , that is surprising to me that he said push through eczema. Did he give a reasoning?
Yes, it was our GI (who specializes in milk allergies and intolerance) who wanted her to try new foods. She cited the article about Israeli kids (they don't have peanut allergies b/c they eat biscuits with peanuts in them).
She said as long as we're able to control it with hydrocortisone and keep her comfortable, then keep going. Only stop if she's having an ana reaction or hives. So, we've been pushing through. It's come and gone, I use hydrocortisone as little as possible. I suspect there are also external factors besides food that could be causing her eczema.

Hi. I'm not a regular on the board or part of this check in, but I was wondering if I could ask you all a few wuestions. My 7 week old has had mucous poop almost from the beginning but never visible blood. She has as of this week been screaming in intense pain and waking regularly MOTN with gas. Pedi has suggested cutting dairy and soy due to the mucous poop.
My DD2 (this baby is DD3) also had mucous poop and awful gas. She had a cluster of other issues also (reflux, tongue and lip tie). An MSPI diet did not help even a little. Time and clipping the ties did. So I have been hesitant to do diet changes this time in case it's just more unexplained stuff. But I am at my wits end with the wake ups and baby is miserable.
How do you figure out what foods to eliminate? How long do you wait to see? I know the MSPI diet I tried before pedi said 2 weeks but I should see improvement before that.
gratefulgirl, I think that cutting dairy and soy is an easy place to start, so why not try? For my LO, it took a full 6 weeks to see improvement after cutting dairy (I know, not what you want to hear), but she has a lot of other intolerances/allergies we figured out later that were likely complicating it. Some people see results right away. Does this LO show signs of reflux or ties too?

Her latch is pretty good; no ties and an LC said her suck was good. She occasionally screams about silent spit but if she spits up she is not bothered. Until last week (after Wonder Week 5, basically) she was super chill. I can have OALD, so we nurse laid back to control the flow and she only pulls off occasionally.
