Hello,
I lurk here often but rarely participate. I have a 10 month old. Thankfully, our breast feeding journey has been fairly easy. I nurse when at home and currently pump twice while at work and sometimes about 2 hrs after she goes to bed, just to keep up with needing bottles when I'm away for bedtime, etc. We just enjoyed a nice 10 day vacation. One of the nicest things was no pumping for me! However, last night, about 2.5 hrs after she went to bed I tried pumping and got nothing. I let the pump run for awhile and hit the let down button a second time, still nothing. Is that normal once having a break from pumping? I also found out I'm pregnant yesterday. That wouldn't have an impact, would it?
5 losses (2003, 2008, 03/12, 11/12, & 10/16) All RPL testing by several REs = all normal
All IF testing by several REs = all normal 5 IUIs (2014) = BFN
IVF#1 Feb '15= BFP! U/S 04/01 = 6w5d, HR 125!, SCH measuring 2cm U/S 04/06 = 7w5d, HR 165!, SCH measuring 4cm NT scan = 13w2d, SCH no longer visible Anatomy scan = Team green . All looks great! Rainbow born on 11/22/15, team pink!
congrats!! i didn't respond to the pump as well anymore around the year mark. for a couple months i just hand expressed at work. not idea but it did the trick. i do think i've heard this can happen after a break, and i know pregnancy can affect supply, but i thought that happened more like 2nd tri.
if you are out of the routine of pumping and your breasts weren't that full, it wouldn't be so abnormal to not respond to the pump. you can try massaging your breasts before pumping and/or using warm compresses. also, try to relax as much as possible- watch tv or read to distract yourself from your output.
pregnancy can definitely affect your supply, but if you just found out that you're pregnant, it would probably be too early to make a difference. for most women it gradually decreases through 1st trimester and many women dry up completely in 2nd trimester.

I stopped responding to the pump during both my pregnancies. This time around LO is 10 1/2 months. I will use up freezer stash and start WCM a little early. I am trying not to stress. Nursing is still going strong.
I've been wondering about WCM and how early I can start...

I would substitute formula instead of wcm. Babies under a year still need the balance of nutrients that BM or formula provides.
