I am in class this morning, studying Diabetes. I just put together my plan to pre-study for boards and I am gong to be BUSY until 39 weeks when I plan to take it (please God let me go to term).
It was actually slightly cool out this morning and it made me so happy I hope it is unusually cold this fall for Texas.
Have a good Wednesday!
If you ever have a need for it, I am T1D and happy to answer any questions
Good luck with everything! That sounds like a lot to take on.

Thanks Obi! I might take you up on that. Actually, if you don't mind me asking, do you find you have to change your dosing while pregnant? If you would prefer, I can also PM! It does feel like a lot to take on at the moment but I'm starting to feel better now that I've created a very detailed plan. It will work out really really well if my plan works!

Anyone else feeling stretching pains when laying on their side? It's usually felt on the opposite side like my belly is pulling, I'm having to lean on a pillow already.

Im happy to answer anything here or through PM. I'm not shy about it. Education is so important so I am all for spreading some awareness publicly haha if you do ever send a PM just let me know in a post here so I actually see it. Im usually on tapatalk and I dont always notice PM's.
And to your question: A big fat yes! I see my endocrinologist bi-weekly and my nurses on the weeks in-between. So my numbers are looked at at least every 7 days and we make adjustments at least 90% of the time. Sometimes just one or two small changes, sometimes an overhaul. I'm on an insulin pump so we are able to really tightly control things. For example, today with my nurse we changed my basal rates by only 0.075 units (0.050 in one place and 0.025 in another). I see my endo on Monday.
Into the second trimester insulin needs go WAY up. During my last pregnancy, my insulin requirements tripled, at least. In the first trimester they actually decrease slightly and there are a lot of lows. Building that placenta is hard work and it reflects that.
Eta: for contrast, when I am not pregnant I alternate between my endo and nurses every 3 months to review and adjust.
Thanks obi! That sounds like a lot of work to monitor and update but it's good that they can follow you and keep everything as normal as possible. I actually just read that today the FDA approved the first artificial pancreas. Hopefully that means that eventually the monitoring and updating will get easier for people with T1DM!
I had some spotting and went in for a sono this afternoon. Baby is fine, I just have a previa that they will monitor. We also found out they are team blue. Honestly a little bummed because I felt like this one was a girl. At least I can re-use all of my baby stuff!
