It's so hard to get up when it's still dark outside. You can tell fall time change is quickly approaching. We had a good night though! I think we will go to the downtown farmers market today.

Ridley was restless and crying in her sleep half the night. I felt bad that there was nothing I could do to help her. She wouldn't even nurse when she woke up because she was just crying. It was awful. But she's up and seems fine now. Just a bad night. I'm hoping her first nap is a calm one. I need some rest!

So I have been trying to get an early Christmas present for DH and keep it a secret. A friend of ours ordered it for me and we messaged last night to discuss pick up. My phone was on the coffee table and DH grabbed it innocently and told me my SIL had texted. Not thinking, I said "give that to me" very abruptly. He kind of looked at me funny as this is out of character. So I had to explain that I was doing some early Xmas shopping and didn't want him to see my Amazon notifications. Kind of a fib but I didn't want him to think I was hiding something. I always fail at surprises!

Hey hey hey everyone!
Life is still crazy. B hates sleeping at night. The toddler is in the mountains with the grandparents for the WHOLE week. And next week I'm working 90 hours.
The good news is that B is finally being a happy baby. Think we finally hit the right combo of formula and heartburn meds. Just his sleep at night sucks and I think this time it is the 4 month sleep regression. DH doesn't want to do cry it out. I wouldn't mind trying it to see how long he will cry for.
We are currently in a "baby must nap no matter what we need to do to get the nap" stage. After cruddy naps yesterday today's naps aren't going much better. Baby massage suggested by @led got me 45 minutes and now we are in the bathroom with the water running and vent on as he doses.

Oh man I am so sorry that is rough.
I get spoiled because usually he's pretty decent with both naps and sleep at night. Not AMAZING but not too bad. But he was a hot mess last night too which I'm blaming being over tired on.

This was us for 2 weeks during his regression. We went back to the swing and bouncing and loud white noise.

We had a really good night. He went down with 10 seconds of crying and only woke up twice to eat and went back down with no crying both times. This morning I kept him up too long and he cried for 30 minutes before falling asleep. But for his second nap he went down with no crying at all!

Mom's surgery was super quick - she was in and out in about two hours. Dad said she's in recovery and doing fine. I hope this is a good experience for her because she'll ultimately need the other knee done too.

Oh and I forgot to say in yesterday's thread that we decided to get DS2 tested now for the celiac genetic testing. It means a poke for him but if on the off chance he is negative for the gene, then we don't have to worry about gluten free for him until age 3 like we did with DS1. So I have to take him for blood work this week sometime. DS2 had his yearly celiac screening done yesterday too (he has the celiac gene but no celiac yet). Poor guy.

Hey, at least you'll know! My cousin is the first in our family with celiacs disease and nobody knew until he started refusing all food except oranges as a toddler!

I was eating refried beans and chips for lunch (super healthy, I know. I should do better, but lazy.) and Ridley was super intently staring at me eating. So I gave her a couple bites of the beans. She goes back to staring at me and soon enough just shoves her whole hand in the bowl of beans. lol I wish I would have thought to take a picture. It was hilarious.
mrssqueegy, I have to take DS1 for some allergy testing next week. Not quite like what you are doing, but still dreading it.
I ordered a new pack and play at Buy buy baby today. For in-store pick up. Then I looked at the traffic to get there from work to there and then home. 90min in total travel time bc it's raining here today and the roads are pretty much stopped and it's not even 4pm (when I would be leaving here). So I called a messenger service to pick it up for me and drop off at home. #BIGCITYWIN!!!!
I didn't know there was that kind of testing available for celiac. Are you doing it because there is a history of it in your family mrssqueegy ?
Yes, DH has celiac. It's a relatively new test. Basically the test tells you if you have a certain gene that makes it possible for you to develop celiac. If you don't have the gene, you can't get celiac, but if you have the gene, you aren't guaranteed to get celiac. DS1 has the gene but hasn't developed celiac so far (he's 4) so we're hoping (but it's probably unlikely) that DS2 doesn't have the gene. Then we don't have to test him for celiac every year like we do with DS1.

Gotcha! That's nice that you can prepare for the possibility of it!
I feel like my body is trying to have a period. I've been achy and crampy and over emotional, but nope!
I've felt like that for 2 weeks now. Even took a pregnancy test lol Now my supply has dipped the last few days so I'm back to being suspicious (about the possibly impending period). Let's just say I'm not leaving the house without a couple of tampons, just in case!
