That looks beautiful! I can't wait to hear all about it. My H would love to do that kind of stuff. Me too for that matter but maybe a little less hunting. Looking gorgeous btw! Fly safe!

When we got there, they had just got some moose so we helped haul it back and the ladies in the community started to clean it. All the meat gets put into a community freezer where elders and community members can come get it for free.

We set a sturgeon net the first day and then checked it every 24 hours. We got a few sturgeon for the freezer too. The first 2 days we spent driving up and down the river on boats looking for moose. We ended up getting rained/snowed/stormed in for the second 2 days. We stayed in that little cabin (7 of us) because the water was too rough to leave. All of our gear was soaked from the day before too because it was pouring that day.
The rabbit soup. This almost broke me lol. Our elder was getting grumpy because of being stuck in the cabin I think and he got impatient. He told me to butcher the 3 rabbits and make a soup. Well fuck if I know how to do that. He was saying things like "didn't anyone teach you how to cook?!" "You're the cook you decide.... oh that's way too much/not enough!!" I think he was part joking and part impatient but I just started crying on the shore for a bit hahaha. That was a low point. It got better again after. POOF

Last night we were supposed to get in at 4pm and then my flight was at 6:30. Well the weather was so bad he said we couldn't go that day. I was just thinking of DH waking up in the middle of the night and noticing I just hadn't come home and there was no way to contact anyone. Well the weather broke very briefly, and we could go! So we start and then the damn boat breaks down. It takes 2 hours to fix, then we leave again but the storm started up again, so we stopped on another island (close enough for cell service at least) and we had to wait until the tide came up so that we could go the rest of the way. Needless to say I missed my flight anyway but at least I could call and have my work reschedule it and get me a hotel room and tell DH I wouldn't be home. It was stressful because we arrived at the cell service at 4:27 and all the offices close at 4:30! Anyway I am super glad to be home, but it was a good trip otherwise
So here are my camera photos!
