I had very severe PUPPPs starting in week 38 of my pregnancy, I delivered at 42 weeks, and the PUPPPs GOT WORSE and stayed for 8 more weeks! Since then I sporadically break out in terrible, itchy rashes, usually on the inside of my arms. When will this stop? I think I read on another thread (I looked and couldn't find it again) that some of you were still getting rashes? Is this the case? What do you think instigates a break out? I went to most unhelpful dermatologist in the world. She gave me a prescription for steroid cream but said this was likely just what my skin was going to be like for now on. :-(

No experience with PUPPS, sorry I do break out with rashes on the tops of my hands and underside of my arms though. I used to just get them on my hands, then it started going up the underside of my arms, and recently went all the way up the underside of my biceps. I've had to use Hydrocortizone cream, and coconut oil, to clear them up. When they're really bad I take a Benadryl too. I don't know what causes mine, I can't find a correlation with anything. Mine has been going on for years, but got a lot worse after having my kids (especially after the twins).

I developed PUPPPs AFTER I delivered LO. AFTER. And it stuck around for 3 weeks. I feel like I have a little PTSD from that experience. And I do notice that I will occasionally get itchy (whereas this has never been a problem for me before) but without a noticeable rash.

Thanks, all. I'm thinking I have an allergy to sunscreen that developed at the same time as the PUPPPs and that is what I'm dealing with now. Dr. Google says that applying sunscreen to already irritated / broken skin may instigate the development of an allergy and I was using it with the PUPPPs and on my newly stretch-marked skin. Still, it seems odd to develop this kind of allergy now when I never had any real skin sensitivities before.
Apparently the contact dermatitis from the sunscreen allergy can stick around for a week or longer. The last time I wore sunscreen was Saturday and I still have rashes- but they are getting better.
I really do feel stressed and traumatized from all the skin issues. It really gets into my head. Thanks for the support.
