Hi! I've been lurking all week, but haven't had much time to post as I've been getting ready to start work next week. Might have found an affordable child care option, a neighbor watches kids out of her house for $25 a day. She's got good references, so I'm hopeful that it will work out.

$25 a day?!? Jump on that! We are paying $15/hour.

Not so much sleepy dust in the Boca household. M woke up a whole bunch of times briefly, and G was awake from 4:30-7. No fun! But then I got to sleep from 7:15-9:45 so that was nice.
This morning H took M to the pediatrician to follow up from our hospital visit. She doesn't think he's sick at all, just that he has narrow nasal passages so he makes weird noises when he breathes. So we spent like 4 hours this week at doctors for a not sick kid.
Also he is 10.5 lb, what a monster! And apparently peed ALL OVER the exam room floor and H. Hahaha

I know! It's so affordable. She will be getting back to me around the 10th to set up a meet a greet and hopefully LO can start that week or the week after. Till then we'll have our parents to help us out.

I feel terrible. My sister went to urgent care this morning and I had to tell her that she can't come visit now. I just don't think it's safe for the little guy. She's so angry with me. We had to scramble to change her flights. And now she doesn't have anywhere to go for Rosh Hashanah. I know it was the right thing to do, I just don't like feeling like I'm at fault:(
Hi all. I've been MIA as the 3 year old had surgery, we all flew to Boston for a wedding- and managed carry on only with two kids, and I had a nasty case of food poisoning. Thankfully we are back home and flying with two kiddo's wasn't too bad!
Sorry, hannahbear. I hope she realizes you had to do what's right for your DS and isn't angry anymore.
Hope you are feeling better, thelorax! Food poisoning is awful.
I had a good morning hanging out with my two littles, my mom and grandma while DD1 was at preschool, then we all picked her up and went out to lunch.
Now it's nap/quiet time and of course the big ones aren't napping, but I might go take a nice bath while they are in their rooms. A mid-day relaxing bath seems like such a luxury these days!
So he's 10 weeks and doesn't even attempt to roll over. Tummy time he just face plants and cries and doesn't try to move. Is that normal? Lol
DD is 9 weeks and pretty much does the same thing. She turns her head from side to side and she is content for about 2 minutes before she starts crying. She doesn't try to roll over at all yet either.
I took LO to breastfeeding group and tried to show off his freakish ability to roll from tummy to back, but he was sleepy and let his head fall forward and smashed his nose into the floor. Sooooo much mom guilt as he screamed.
And my dad is coming to visit this weekend. Which could be really awkward, but im glad he's going to meet his grandson.

My BIL and his girlfriend came over to hang out and see the girls this afternoon. I love how much they enjoy the kids! It's fun to watch them all interact, and the gushing about how cute they are doesn't hurt either
H went out with some friends, so I've got the baby mostly sleeping in my lap. As soon as she's in bed, I'm ready for a glass of wine!
I am having a really rough morning. I was wearing E in the Boba, and bonked his little head on a cabinet when I opened it to get a glass.
It happens! I scratched DDs leg while changing her diaper and almost cried. Cut my nails and filed them immediately.
So sorry about your sister's visit, but I'd have done the same thing. I had a girlfriend cancel her visit herself because her kids were sick and she worried she'd bring the germs with her. I think its better safe with one's this little.

H is in a pissy mood. I was supposed to take M to the doctor today but overslept so H ended up taking him, and as a result he didn't get his work done. He is having a really hard time meeting deadlines both at school and work because the babies are unpredictable, and I understand how frustrating that must be. But his way of dealing with it is to tell me all the things I'm not doing well or that he's doing better and how unfair it is that he's expected to take care of things like dinner and laundry. He said he wanted to have a "conversation" about it but every time I responded he shut me down and told me why I was wrong. So finally I told him I had to go to the bathroom and now I'm hiding out in here.
I'm frustrated. He has a lot on his plate besides the babies and I get that. But I have always struggled with housework and general adulting and since the babies were born I have been doing WAY better at it. I tidy every day, I wash the bottles, I take out the trash and recycling, I clean the bathroom, I help with dishes... AND I do most of the baby care. But instead of recognizing that I actually have gotten way better at adulting since giving birth, he chooses to focus on the things I'm still not doing.
I realized today that I left my changing pad and wipes clutch at the museum tues. I called and the girl said she saw it in lost and found Wednesday but it isn't there today so they probably threw it out.
I'm pretty devastated over it. The pad snaps into my bag. I called Vera Bradley and they don't have replacements.
I just feel like I'm a hot mess lately. I can't believe I just left it on the changing table. I was so focused on getting the baby back in the stroller and just left it there.
Also, I can't find his soft fuzzy blanket anywhere today. I know we had it yesterday.
I have never been someone to be forgetful, but now I think I'd leave my cell phone in the fridge. Blah. I thought my huaband had a better handle on things, but today he was driving us to CHOP (to pick up a pump) and he nearly turned down a one way the wrong way. We've driven that way a hundred times - he just wasn't paying attention.
I looked at him and said "So, we're both hot messes?" Ha.
