We had "Read to a Puppy" event at the library today and went with my sister, SIL and 2 of Js cousins. It was super cute and just enough to make the gloomy day fun.
On the potty talk.. we ordered one from amazon with a gift card from Js birthday because it was on sale, it was Mickey (her fav) and I figured we'd need it eventually so might as well. She loves the thing, it says "hip hip hooray" when you press the pretend flush, and it gives her somewhere to sit/ something to do whenever I need to be in the bathroom. But we're not potty training yet.. although this evening she made a poop face while in the tub so I pulled her out and sat her on it and she poo-ed in it.. and was super happy to flush it after lol. Sooo not potty training but we use it when/how its convenient, and she likes it.
We have this potty too! C loves to take it apart and scatter it throughput our downstairs. He also loves to "flush" it so he can hear Mickey.

I have a 5 year old!
We're taking LBB out to pancakes for breakfast. His party is at 11. This afternoon he wants to go try out his new bike then we're going out to pizza for dinner.
erbear was posting about American Girl the other day and I didn't really know what they were and didn't really "get" the hype but thought they were cute I guess. I just opened a catalogue that came with DS's monthly magazine subscription and it's the Canadian version of them! I'd never heard of them before either, but I think I get it now. Oh boy. And we had already decided we weren't going to do much for Christmas gifts this year...
We've been out and about all morning, so DS' nap got pushed almost an hour. He's rewarding us by throwing his stuffed animals out of the crib and now complaining about it. Go to sleep, mommy wants a break!
Hi everyone. I thought I'd say hello. I'm beginning to read threads a bit again and didn't want to just lurk again.
We had a lovely holiday. Being mostly off grid was good for H and me. We had a miserable journey back but I was feeling better last Sunday morning than I have for months.
Then I found out that my mum was in hospital and had decided not to tell us till we got home. She's out of hospital but still recovering, and we don't know how long it will take. She has a permanent heart condition now. So in addition to the worry about her, I have no help with childcare for the forseeable future.
And then I had a chemical pregnancy.
So I was hoping to get back to being a regular TCF-er and it might not be for a while after all. But I'll try to comment when I can, and if you see me lurking, I'm not intending to be weird (-er than usual).
So my stinker of a child decided napping in his crib wasn't going to happen. He fell asleep in the last five minutes of our walk, so this is the current state of affairs.
Not gonna lie, I'm not too mad. It's finally a beautiful day after being super rainy, so I'm enjoying some quiet time on the porch.

Yeah my mom is buying LO one for Christmas. She loves them! The bitty baby isn't *that* bad.
Hugs purple I've been thinking about you a lot and miss8ng you tons. tiffbot are you talking about the Mapelea dolls? I get the catalogues all the time they are so gorgeous. If I ever have a girl or if my sister has a girl.
Hey purple! I have been thinking about you. I'm sorry you are still having a rough go around. It's so nice to hear from you. We are here when you are ready, but for now, you take care of yourself! Hugs.
tiffbot one of my students had one and it was beyond gorgeous. One of the best quality dolls I've ever seen.
Good to know, thanks!!
There's currently a cute line of girls "from" provinces around the country but not a Saskatchewan yet. I will have a hard time resisting if one of those pop up. Not that it matters, because I would get any of them if we decided to. There's also a bunch of unnamed ones that you create your own story with and the one with DD features is melting my heart a little too.
