I'm just now catching up on this is us from this week. I have officially cried for 2 of 2 episodes. Thinking this show is going to be just like parenthood in that regard. 😢

When the two brothers were talking on the phone as adults and did their Big 3 chant they used to do with their dad when they were younger.... water works!

sms2524 for the first year I used a slouchy backpack style since I liked to baby wear and didn't need much. But I had to upgrade when we started cloth diapering, he was eating more solid food and we were out and about more. I love my jujube bff! I can fit so much in it it's so easy to clean and has the option of straps too.
The jujube prepared was my second option, but has no straps just huuuge. I like oversized bags.
But really any bag will work! I used smaller bags to keep things organized if it didn't have many pockets.
When my DS wasn't born yet family sent me a ton of newborn/0-3 month stuff and DS hardly got to wear any of it. He was only 8lbs 9oz but he was 24 inches long at birth. My kid is long.
Holy crap, that's a long baby! How tall is he now?
At his 2 year checkup in April he was 41 inches. He is taller than his three year old cousin. 😝
I went with the short rib hash- SO GOOD. I went with a bunch of girlfriends, and after I met my husband and we went to lunch with another couple. Since I'd already eaten, I got a giant skillet cookie. Yum. Yum.
I bought a fairly large diaper bag before having DS based solely on looks. It wasnt terribly functional and I dont use it anymore. What I would recommend is buying something smaller that you can carry 2 diapers, wipes, snacks and a bottle in, as well as a larger bag that can carry all the extras. I found it cumbersome to carry the big bag around stores. We live about 30mins from the next big town so shopping trips were a half day thing for us. Id pack everything I needed +extra in the big bag and use the small bag for just what we may need while in one store.
We were supposed to go to an apple festival today but it's pouring and DS is sick. So it looks like it's couch time for both of us today. I'm already planning on a nap this afternoon, perfect for this rainy day.
I totally had to go back and figure out where you live b/c we were supposed to go to an apple festival today, too, but it was pouring so we had to skip it.
Instead, we went to a 3rd birthday party for a friend's son. No offense to those of you with or expecting boys (all children are wonderful, of course), but OMG I'm so glad I'm having another girl. Toddler boys are a lot to handle! It made me fully appreciate my semi-reserved DD, who sat quietly with me and played while the boys were going crazy. (Of course, if this baby actually turns out to be a boy it will be wonderful and all that, but I will have to mentally prepare a bit differently!)

Eh, I think it's more to do with individual personalities than boy v. girl. There have been plenty of little boys in the gym/music/library classes we have attended that sit quiet as can be and girls who don't. But then I'm on way to having two little boys so admittedly I'm sensitive to generalities such as this.
@amc25 emergency! What was the decent n/a beer with the German name? Clausthaler?
I'm not sure. I've never tried any of them. But Clausthaler is probably pretty decent, given its 2-3 star rating on Beer Advocate (I mean, it's non-alcoholic, so 4-5 stars isn't going to happen there, no matter how good it is for the "style").
Dangit, I could've sworn you were among the "what NA beer isn't horrible?" team. Ah well, I'll try it.
I couldn't leave the house with 2 diapers when DD was little. Newborns can go through a lot diapers/outfits. We mostly used a medium sized diaper bag. You can always leave it in the car if you want. I'd rather be prepared. We Bfed but if you formula feed you want something that can hold bottles and formula.
Now we can bring a few diapers, wipes, sippy cup and bib are are ready to go. DD is 2.
My mind woke me up with a to-do list. First up - finish this reading and paper for my grad class.
Then apparently I'm going to make a bench for our entry way. I drew up a plan and it's only going to take three 2x4's assuming I don't mess up any measurements or cuts.
I forgot the coffeeshop doesn't open until 8. It's not worth going home and coming back, and apparently I really want a latte because I'm waiting in my car out front. The struggle is real.
We got the ceiling up in the new basement last night! Hopefully it will be officially completed by the end of this week!
Now I'm feeding DD bfast while doing laundry, then we're organizing the master closet before H gets home around noon. I just got invited to my 10 yr HS reunion in November. I wanted to go, but it will depend on how cute pregnant I look, vs fat pregnant, b/c an ex (who I kind of dumped for DH..oops) will likely be there and I can't see him unless I look good, obviously.
My turn to wake up w DS so cartoons and coffee are at work. We stayed up too late (11) watching a movie... never again. The movie was the new huntsman and was not worth it.
Huh, I got a "-1" notification. Does that mean someone revoked their LT?
I believe that's what it means, but it's possible that someone just tried to LT a post that they'd already LT'd, rather than them going back to intentionally take one away.
Haha I'm not offended, just curious! I've definitely accidentally un-LT'ed and re-LT'ed before.
Our neighbors are doing a beer tasting fundraiser this afternoon. So jealous that H will get to drink all the beer and I will get to stand around and pretend to be content with lemonade.
Sorry bookish I had to duck out of some fun drinking activities. I love that I'm pregnant, but it is hard to feel like you're missing out on all the fun!
OMG I did the chocolate massage at the Hershey Spa a few years ago...SO AMAZING.
Is this what I think it is? A massage with chocolate as a lotion?!
It is a chocolate scented oil, so not thick like that. I wonder if the facials are thick like that though? I'm now totally going to try to convince H that we need to go back for a pre-baby treat! The whole spa smells like chocolate and they have Hershey Kisses in bowls everywhere. My salad had a chocolate vinaigrette on it, which I was skeptical of but turned out to be delish!
