I think we're gonna start car shopping, we keep going back and forth and never really deciding. But it came up again and it's such a tease, I was cleaning the garage a bit and of course tested the infant car seat in the car w my sons convertible. Whyyy is the infant car seat wider!!? And whyyy are we so damn tall we need the seats just a few too many inches back? FWP.
mosdub Can you link your asparagus soup recipe please?
I don't have a recipe I follow, but here's what I do (it's pretty basic, but I like simple sometimes):
-Cut tips off asparagus and set aside. -Cut remaining asparagus into small pieces (an inch or so long) and throw in pan and cook down with oil/butter until tender. -Put tender asparagus into blender with chicken stock, blend, pour back in soup pot. -Bring to a low boil/simmer and toss in asparagus tips (they will cook up slightly and be al dente which is perfect!) -I season mine with lemon juice and salt to taste.
*When I have an onion on hand I cut it up and caramelize it in butter then add to the soup. I prefer some chunks in the soup so I don't usually blend the onions or asparagus tips, but you could blend it all up if you wanted*
There's a lot of recipes for "lemon asparagus soup" but the way I do it is way simpler than most.

Right?! I tried this out in July and the infant seat was too wide to fit next to the convertible (which will only fit in the center position due to front-to-back room). At least we've got a firm deadline for car shopping now?
Yessss! It is my dilemma too w the convertible! Stupid safety and shit haha
I can add an angle adjuster and move the convertible behind the passenger seat but the infant car seat is still too wide to go in the middle and if it's behind the passenger seat it would have to just stay in the car all the time since it's too close to the seat to release the lever to take out.
It was good to know since we do still have time to decide lol
Our neighbors are doing a beer tasting fundraiser this afternoon. So jealous that H will get to drink all the beer and I will get to stand around and pretend to be content with lemonade.
Are you comfortable with having a small sip or two? That way you could *taste* something other than lemonade without consuming too much alcohol. Most "non-alcoholic" beers seem to be just under 0.5% alcohol, so drinking a 12oz of one of those would be equivalent to drinking an ounce of normal, 5-6% alcohol beer.
Normally I would have a sip, but this is homebrew stuff and I'm not really comfortable without knowing the true alcohol content. I don't drink a lot when I am not pregnant, but I love the smell when I am pregnant and always want to gulp down whatever H is drinking!

Eeks you guys are smart to try this out now! I think we are buying a van, but I should make sure the infant seat we have fits with the convertable in DH's Accord!
Is this what I think it is? A massage with chocolate as a lotion?!
It is a chocolate scented oil, so not thick like that. I wonder if the facials are thick like that though? I'm now totally going to try to convince H that we need to go back for a pre-baby treat! The whole spa smells like chocolate and they have Hershey Kisses in bowls everywhere. My salad had a chocolate vinaigrette on it, which I was skeptical of but turned out to be delish!
I did a spa day there when I was pregnant with DS and will do the same this time, I hope. The prenatal massage is really great. And if you didn't do it before, you can add lunch at the spa cafe to your day and it's excellent! Lots of delicious desserts. They also make crazy good chocolate martinis, if you ever go back post-baby.

I'm a few bits away from finishing an entire container of Bob Evans loaded mashed potatoes by myself. We are starting a whole30 tomorrow so it's my last mashed potato meal until then. Mashed potatoes have been my saving grace through the nausea.
My dad is helping me deconstruct and reconstruct a bench to use in our entry way. It has to be short because it's a small space, but I'm excited! It's this old primitive work bench I got at a barn sale when I was a teenager. I'm just unsure of how I want to finish it. It has some sweet Knicks and saw marks all over it
I had one with DS and I'm already looking forward to round two. 😄 I'm glad you enjoyed it! We spend a lot of time in Hershey - I just took DS to the chocolate factory this morning!
glb30 it's not the most attractive bench, but I like the primitive look. It's not stained yet and I think a clear coat would look nice. We deconstructed this old work bench I had when I was a teenager that I got from some barn sale and made it shorter to fit in this little space.
In other news I just fell HARD. I stepped on the corner of the dog bed (on a wood floor) and my foot slipped like I was a frickin cartoon character on a banana peel. My knee took most of the blow, but my muscles ache I'm such a clutz.
mosdub love the bench!! And sorry about the fall. I did the same thing Wed night while playing "soccer" in the sunroom with my 19 mo. My knee also took the brunt of it and is just now recovering. So I know how you feel and hope you recover quickly!!
I totally had to go back and figure out where you live b/c we were supposed to go to an apple festival today, too, but it was pouring so we had to skip it.
Instead, we went to a 3rd birthday party for a friend's son. No offense to those of you with or expecting boys (all children are wonderful, of course), but OMG I'm so glad I'm having another girl. Toddler boys are a lot to handle! It made me fully appreciate my semi-reserved DD, who sat quietly with me and played while the boys were going crazy. (Of course, if this baby actually turns out to be a boy it will be wonderful and all that, but I will have to mentally prepare a bit differently!)
Eh, I think it's more to do with individual personalities than boy v. girl. There have been plenty of little boys in the gym/music/library classes we have attended that sit quiet as can be and girls who don't. But then I'm on way to having two little boys so admittedly I'm sensitive to generalities such as this.
+1 caer is so right. It is an individual personality thing. Toddlers are a lot to handle whether they are little boys or girls. I mean shit, me and my 2 sisters are all ladies and we are so freakin different that there are not enough words to describe it. I was the reserved one who sat quietly while both my sisters wrecked up the places we went to. People are different!
