The beach trip was... not very much fun.
Highlights: The boys playing in the ocean. They loved it! Little Bones was listening really well about not running away. The first day we hadn't changed and went to put are feet in. Little Bones got knocked down and soaked. We let him run around the beach in his underwear. We got some side eyes but no curr. DH said when we went to go check on our room, security was eyeing him up until the staff recognized him. DH and I sat and drank on our balcony.
Lows: Hotel was a customer service nightmare. Lunch on Sunday was an unplanned mess. I started my period after it ended a week ago.

Friday was probably the worst day I've had in a long time. I needed a little quiet time after the kids went to bed (DH had a gig). My house is a disaster. I need to get a little schedule together of cleaning stuff I can do throughout the week.
I need to break it down into 15 minutes increments.
Went to a movie yesterday with my aunt and cousin. H gave me a tough time about leaving him alone with the kids for a few hours, but I didn't care. I really needed the break from super clingy babies and someone needing me ALL.THE.TIME. It was great.
Based on everyone's feedback, I think I'm going to get a crick pot this week. I can get away with the cheapest one, right?
I got a hamilton beach one that automatically goes to "warm" once done cooking. That way, I don have to be home to turn it off. Get one with this feature! It is too easy to lose track of time and burn your otherwise delicious dinner.

I agree with this. Automatically switching to warm is essential. You don't need anything fancy but I don't know that you want to go with the cheapest you can find either. I'd go middle of the road in terms of cost.
Dropped M off with my dad, grocery shopped to get the things I forget Friday, started laundry, now I'm eating breakfast quickly. Dishes are up next and then the plan is to get my resume up on several sights, create my profile on Georgia works, and schoolwork.

Let's do this.
Make today your birch! I haven't been around much.. I'm so sorry about the job. I hope you find something soon!

skinandbones was it you or @betweenthelines who transitioned someone from crib to bed a little early? Or someone else?
We tried yesterday with naps and she crawled around for 30 minutes and then slept on the hardwood floor... woke up after like 30 minutes. When you transitioned did you put them back in the bed every time they got out? Her room is babyproofed and we're doing a floorbed setup since she's so little...so I'm not concerned about her getting into something she shouldn't, I just want her to sleep!

We transitioned DD at around 20 months. We got disgustingly lucky with her. I guess she never realized that she could get out of her bed and do whatever she wanted, so we never had to deal with getting her to stay in it. When your dd wakes up, is she crying or anything? Can you just leave her? DD fell out of her bed once or twice in the MOTN and I left her on the floor. At some point throughout the night she got herself back into the bed.

@betweenthelines I don't want to jinx it but so far it's going well this morning! She's staying in bed and snuggling with her lovey...just need her to lie down....fingers crossed!
When she was getting out of bed yesterday she was fine for her first nap, except she didn't sleep nearly as long as she usually does. So when we tried the afternoon nap she was a MESS. Sobbing and refusing to give up. Ugh it was rough. I'm cool with letting her sleep wherever as long as she actually sleeps you know?
Aaaaand just like that she's ventured off the bed haha...fantastic.
tmclawchick, just give it time. You know her best- if you think going in there and placing her in her bed over and over might help, then try it. But I also was in the camp of letting her sleep wherever as long as she slept. I just didn't have any issue with it from the jump. Good luck!!!

tmclawchick, we transitioned around 16 months, I think.
I had a similar experience like @betweenthelines where I don't think he realized he got get off it. He's room was completely baby proofed and had a small basket of toys. He was also sleeping in a cot at day care about the same time. Since it was just a mattress on the floor, if he rolled off, I just left him.
I think it's important to note that I stayed with him until he fell asleep as well.

skinandbones and @betweenthelines thanks for the help! We didn't transition DS until he was almost 3 and i remember that it was way easier than this. I ended up going in there a few times to put her back in bed. Of course a meltdown happened but at least she's asleep now!
There was nothing to do at DH's work today so his boss told him to stay home. And pedi called to cancel our flu vax today because they don't have any.
Now we're trying to figure out what to do today... park, museum, state fair, zoo, idk. I want to go to the fair but it's one of the big school district's fair day so it might be too crowded. BIL and his fiancé are two of the police working there this year so we may ask them how crowded it is.
