Morning! It's a bit grey here today.
DD has off from school today and tomorrow so she's with the baby sitter. I also just realized last night she also has 2 days off next month (aside from thanksgiving) that I will need care for so I think I might take some PTO.
My kiddo is growing out of everything, especially shoes. We shopped a bit yesterday for her, I got her some clothes from JCP and we also wound up picking out a Halloween costume. I spent way more than I was planning to on the costume, but hey I think that might be an OaD perk!
Does anyone here have a girl that wears size 9 toddler shoes? I have about 20 pairs all in very good to brand new condition that I'd like to pass on to someone that I know would use them.

We had a busy weekend, so tired. Should be a standard week here. After I dropped ds off, went to the post office to ship a sale off of ebay & now catching up on some tv. Watching Lisa Ling's show & farting around on the web.

I've been checking out bra sections of Walmart & target. Why is everything padded? I couldn't find even one at target besides something called a bralette that did not look like a bra. 0_o I'm guessing I gotta upgrade & go to kohls or something.

Hello. Not much today, it's my last week before returning to work so I'm just relaxing it up at home with DS snuggles.
My boss text me this morning that 8 people got laid off, basically an entire department. At first I freaked out but then I realized I could afford to stay home if I had unemployment compensation. So that wouldn't be the worst thing if it happened to me haha.
DD is a little sick today so we're sticking close to home. No fever or anything just a head cold but she keeps saying "I sick... I go to doctor." Which is adorable in her little congested voice.
We had a busy weekend, DD and I went to a performance a town over and then my parents took us out to dinner yesterday. We hardly eat out, DD just made it through dessert and then crashed. Luckily we were a 5 mins walk from our house, so we put her straight to bed and she slept in a little.
Her dance class got canceled because as of now there are only two pupils, so we'll move to a somewhat less convenient time now. Or, it will be a less convenient time when she turns four and starts kindergarten in March. We'll worry about that when it comes.
I had a quiet day at work, every one seems to be sick, less kids for me to tutor, but enough to get me paid.
helenahhandbasket, I like your idea of thinking of splurging on Halloween costumes as a OAD perk. DS wants to be Bumblebee (the Transformer) this year and I'm sure I'll have to shell out some cash for that. I was feeling reluctant to splurge but now I will embrace it. I'm sure your DD will be the cutest Tinkerbell!
We got our first rain this weekend, and today is gloomy but I'm enjoying the change in weather. A good day to sit in the office and get work done.
My sinuses are making me feel like shit. I love fall but my sinuses don't. I tackled grocery shopping today and now I'm done doing things. Picked up a deli pizza for dinner.
hey, have you started your job yet? How's that going?
Compulsory education starts at 5, and 99% starts the schoolyear in which they turn 5, so before actually turning 5. This is group 1 of our elementary school system. And most start the schoolyear prior, when they turn 4, so turning 4 is the big thing here, moving from daycare/preschool/playgroup to 'school'. Serious reading and writing start in group 3, but since the 1980s all Kindergarten classes (groups 1 and 2) have become part of elementary school, so it is not as big a transition as going to group 1. Group 1 and 2 are still more learning through playing than formal education. DD has been seeing kids from her playgroup leave to go to school, and can't wait till she's 4 to go too.

I got called off my retail job this evening thank goodness. My mom stayed a couple hours and now I'm making cookies for my teachers aide. I'm sugaring her up before I leave her next week with a sub.

Yikes, that's not what you want to hear on a Monday morning. Do you think your position might be in jeopardy?
probably in the near future. They claim it's not but they are moving almost everything to Asia. Sucks
