We made some really good nursery progress this weekend. I took 4 garbage bags of clothes to goodwill, 2 totes of books to half price books and 1 tote of video games to the game exchange. So now the entire nursery is cleaned out and we've already painted so we're ready to go. I also got a notification this morning that someone ordered our cribs off of my registry. When I went to order them last week they were out of stock so I actually picked different ones and put them on my registry so I wouldn't forget. I'm guessing MIL must have been stalking our registry and ordered them. So that's exciting and terrifying. It means shit is getting real now.

Yay for getting the cribs, mustloveerica! How exciting.
I announced on facebook this weekend and told the co-workers I'm close to today- everyone else can figure it out when I get huge. It feels scary to be out of the closet!

I bought 2 new pair of maternity pants at Old Navy this weekend and I love them but need to get them hemmed before I can wear them out of the house. I think I'll be in leggings all week this week.
We had a good weekend, we switched to a new pool for swim class since the pool we had been going to was freeeeezing and DD was hating it. The new pool is so much warmer and by the end of the class she was smiling and laughing and splashing around. Such a relief!

LaRomana, glad you found a swim class that works for you! DD hated her first swim class and screamed for the first 15 minutes but she mostly just doesn't like change/trying new things. It's now her favorite thing in the world to do- like if we ask her what she'd like to do today, she always asks to go to swimming lessons!

We had done a session last spring right around when she turned 1 and she liked it (or at least didn't mind it). And then this session started and she hated it! I was really worried that she would still hate it even after getting to a warm pool so I am pretty relieved!

I'm throwing a baby shower for my BFF and she wants a LOTR theme. I'm having a really hard time finding ideas on Pinterest that aren't a) just re-naming food LOTR-themed names (we're having Italian catered in at her request, so most of that stuff won't work) or b) posting signs requiring absolutely beautiful elvish-looking calligraphy that I cannot do. I really want to make this happen for her but I don't know how to make it work
I really want them to call soon with my mat21 results. Of course I'm anxious about the chromosomal stuff (less so after my good NT results), but I'm also really excited to find out the sex. My husband is going on a camping trip starting Wednesday, and I want him to find out before he goes too. He won't really discuss names until we know. 😊

It is way crazy that people on this board will be finding out the sex soon. How are we already that far along? (I know the mat21 test is early but STILL. It feels like we all just got our BFPs!)

DH and I are celebrating our 4 year anniversary this Thursday. On Saturday we're traveling about 2 hours away for our nieces' birthday party. DH wants to see if his mom can take DD Friday night while we go on a date, then go back to their house Friday night and spend the night there, then ride up to BIL & SIL's house with them on Saturday
On the one hand, a date night sounds amazing, I really want to see "Girl on a Train" which comes out Friday, and it all makes sense. On the other hand, the idea of spending both Friday night and Saturday night at someone else's house makes me really sad. I'm so introverted. That's a lot of being "on." DH doesn't think it would be fair to ask his parents to take DD up to BIL/SIL's with them without us so going back to our house and meeting them the next day isn't an option.
Just checked the handout I have for scheduling screening and they want the NT done between 9/28 and 10/5. 10/3 was the earliest appt I could get when I scheduled 4 weeks ago, even with going to a further away hospital. I'm gonna push really hard for cell-free DNA if they can't make this work.
I'm so tired. My desk is in the opening so I can't even hide to nap...
My boss was like "yeah, I can just shut my door and pretend I'm in a meeting" haha thanks dude
He did ask when I was in his office how the pregnancy was going since I haven't said much on it since telling him. It's nice to work for someone who cares and remembers to ask

It sounds like they were trying to get it done before 13 weeks, but you really have until 13+6. My doctor's office didn't want me to wait until the end of the window because if you are measuring 14+ at the scan then the results aren't considered valid, but you should still have a little wiggle room. (((HUGS))) I'm sorry you are dealing with this stress.

Not to make you jealous, but I brought in a camping mat and I've been closing my door for a half hour every day and taking a nap on my floor.

I was told to do it between 11-14 weeks so it sounds like you still have time as laromana said

Yeah, I'm just not sure Kaiser is willing to schedule it after 13 weeks. I'm sure I'll find out!

Totally jealous. If I get desperate enough, I'll make my way down to the nurse's station and lay down for a half hour.
Tomorrow, I have to be up at 4am to head to Ginna NPP, which is just cruel and unusual punishment for a pregnant woman

So yesterday H and I were driving to the store. It's a busy street 5 lanes of traffic and businesses on both sides. There was a deer walking down the sidewalk on one side and it was limping badly. I'm sure it got hit on this road. I started crying. I just hate to see animals in pain. H had to convince me that we couldn't have helped it. I'm still thinking about it and worrying about that deer today.

I hope I can find a swim class near us to take the baby to. I love swimming and I grew up taking lessons. We have a pool so I want to make sure my kids are 100% comfortable with it.
