I've been having major waves of nausea the last couple days. I just told DH that if he knocked me up again I'm performing the vasectomy myself lol. I do not want 3u3. I think DD1 and I have some kinda bug though cause she hasn't been feeling too great either.
* warning for joy, do not read *
When DD1 was 9 weeks we had friends over for dinner. Mid-meal I excused myself because I had to be sick. I was that sleep deprived. DH had to play it off, "Either gratefulgirl is tired...or she's pregnant again." Yeah, definitely was just tired. So awkward.
Aww! Thanks for the spoiler. I'm good, though. First tri is long gone and your stories can't be my reality any moment.
H had a vasectomy but I still plan to get my tubes tied. Plus the vasectomy isn't checked until 3 months. We will continue to use condoms until we are both permanently, surgically sterilised.

I already got my IUD. But we are not having sex. I asked my doc why I'm so fucking dry and it's so uncomfortable and she said its from nursing. So yea, no good sex or none at all, for a year...

I love when C wakes up from a nap and starts to fuss and has that, "Why isn't anyone holding me??!" look and then she looks up, realizes it's me, and gives me the biggest smile.
Just got back from their 2-month appointment and everything went well. She says they are beautiful and developing appropriately. G is 22.25in and weighs 9lb15oz. M is 22.75in and weighs a whopping 10lb14oz! Vaccines went better than expected. I didn't even cry.
We also just got back from the 2 month visit. 23.5" long and 12 lbs 4 oz! I knew he had gained a lot, but almost 3 lbs in a month -woah! He completely freaked out over the oral vaccine, and then the 2 shots were downright awful. It took him soo long to settle, poor little guy.

You have the right idea! When I was still in the hospital after having DS, a nurse and I were talking about birth control and she mentioned that statistically, vasectomy failure rates are highest at 10-12 years post-procedure. Can you imagine!?
I want to cry. I made 3 batches of enchiladas today, with my homemade sauce. The first batch of sauce I made gluten free for mack's nanny, who had a death in the family. Those ones are fine. But that used up all of my chili powder, so I grabbed some more from the Mercado Latino section of Wegman's. Yeah. It is HOT. I just made two batches of enchiladas for my family with raging hot sauce. My kids tolerate spicy food but this is....way too spicy. I'm probably going to wind up wasting a double batch of enchiladas. All that food, and time, and effort.

Incidentally, my college boyfriend had a sibling who was 10 years younger than him for this very reason.

Huh. E had way more than 2 shots. I think he had 5!

I have heard of a few fourth children who happened this way.

The CDC schedule leaves some room for interpretation. It depends on what visits your pedi has and stuff.

DS only had 2 shots also, but one of them was a combo vaccine. I wonder if your pedi gave them all separately.

Oh nooo! Can you just douse them with a bunch of sour cream?

I'm going to try. Enough sour cream and guacamole will help, right?
The second batch I only put the sauce inside the enchiladas, not on top yet, so I am wondering if I can make like a creamy cilantro sauce instead of regular enchilada sauce to put on top.

DH, DS, and I went to the NY Botanical Gardens today We had a nice time, but it definitely didn't feel worth the $40 + parking. Still, getting out of the house is good for all of us and DS is such a good baby on outings. To make me feel better about wasting $ on what was basically a walk in a park, I'm going to insist we go to the Bronx Zoo next Wednesday, when it's free 😊
I can't believe a bunch of our A16 babies are already getting their 2 month shots! I never understood parents who said that they cried when their babies got vaccines... But now I'm dreading the day we go. I hate needles, blood draws, and shots, but at least I can always just shut my eyes and wait for it to be over, and now I need to watch my poor tiny baby get poked?! Ugh. Would it be okay for me to nurse him while they do it? I think it's the only way I could possibly distract him.

1) you may want to wait another week on the zoo - next Wed is a holiday and most kids here have no school, so I imagine it could be very busy!
2) they often recommend you feed them right after to soothe them. Ds2 had just eaten (bottle fed), so I just used the pacifier. I'm not going to lie, the look on their face when they get a shot is horrible, but it's temporary pain. When Ds1 got his flu shot this year he voluntarily stuck his arm out and didn't even flinch.

Just close your eyes and remind yourself that it's a split second of pain for a lifetime of protection. That's how I hold myself together. It's not fun, but it's truly a split second.
some doctor's offices will let you BF while they give the shots, but some won't. Ours does not. Although I have, in the past, dipped a pacifier in pumped BM and given that during vaccinations.

The look is awful! It's like "how could you?" Luckily by the time they're dressed they're over it.

I wish I had the pacifier option. I wanted to hold him for the shots, but they told me to just hold his arms and talk to him. Luckily, they were quick.

That sounds super frustrating. But also, can you send me the recipe? Because enchiladas sound delicious.
