Fall is finally here for us! I love it! It's a cold cloudy day here but for some reason it makes me feel so renewed and energized. I hope everyone is having a happy Saturday! I started mine off by enjoying a hot cup of coffee on my back porch enjoying the cool weather thinking about my week.
Gtky: What are some fall activities you love to do every year? Any traditions you're going to do with lo?
Yay three day weekend! It's cold and rainy here today. We ran some errands and I need to go get my race packet still. Tomorrow is going to be the most fabulous running weather, so I'm excited for my race.
GTKY- we always went to the same pumpkin farm every year, but we moved and new to find a new one now.

We're going to have some cooler temps the next few days! The leaves are starting to turn too. I made crock pot pumpkin spice white hot chocolate this morning. Yum!
GTKY: the only thing we do is go trick or treating in the same old historic neighborhood that I did as a child. We plan to take F to a pumpkin patch/corn maze this year too.

I am in desperate, desperate need of this recipe lol.
MH took the cat back to the vet this morning. They did x-rays and found nothing, so they are thinking it may be primarily behavioral. They've put her on kitty Prozac and a pheromone collar. FX for a poop free day.
My favorite fall activity is making a pot of chili on Sundays then lounging around in our pajamas watching football, eating and drinking apple cider all day.
In opposite news, I've dropped out of the half marathon I was supposed to run on my birthday next month. It feels like a huge weight is off my shoulders now! I was SO far behind in training, my pace was horrible, trying to find time for running long runs was difficult and I was dreading it every weekend. The guilt of missing runs was adding stress I definitely don't need right now. The good thing is, when I told my training partner, she said she was feeling the same way but was afraid to tell me! She had a baby two weeks after me so she gets it, and it's even harder for her because she's a single mom. The other good thing is it has gotten us both back into an exercise routine and while I won't be doing long runs, I will still plan to run 3x a week or so going forward.

I think we are going to put up our Halloween decorations today. We don't do too many because it's just more things to keep away from little hands, but I love doing the lights!
My mom is taking my big kid overnight. Yay!
GTKY: we do a pumpkin patch every year. We've been trying out new ones each year and have found a couple really good ones, but neither of them have everything. If we could combine them, it would be perfect! We also carve pumpkins. Or I should say, everyone sits around and watches me carve pumpkins lol. I think DD1 might finally be the right age to enjoy pumpkin carving. Of course we also trick or treat.
DH had to work before heading off to a conference this morning. Hopefully he will be home in a couple hours though and we can all get a long nap! Pretty much that's all our weekend is, trying to catch up on sleep.
no fall traditions here, I enjoy fall and get so excited for the first snow (and subsequent snows)!
I also love snow! Where we live we get an average of about 150+ inches a year. We're expecting a metric crap load this year because our snow comes off the great Lakes and doesn't let up until they start to freeze over. The summer here was unseasonably hot so they'll take longer to freeze. I'm excited!
I'm with you all on the loving snow, I can't wait! I love every flake. Here we get just enough for me to not get tired of it, in fact I wish it would snow a tad more. I just don't like how risky it can making driving sometimes. But if I'm home with no errands to run for awhile, bring me all the snow!
geners I hope kitty stays poop free, or at least outside the box free. Hopefully those things help. I'm glad you feel less stressed since dropping out of the marathon. I like to keep my hobbies fun and stress free myself. It's good you have a work out buddy. It always makes it seem less of work and more something to look forward to with a friend.

Lol I HATE snow. It's all well and good if I can stay in and not go anywhere, but that is seriously no ones reality. And then you drive on it and it gets filthy and all the salt. Big no from me.

I'm pretty sure R took his first steps today and I missed them! I was making lunch and he was standing at a chair in the kitchen. I turned around for maybe 10 or 15 seconds and then turned around again and he was a foot from where he had been and not holding on to anything. Just standing there with his arms way out for balance. Then he leaned forward and grabbed the play table. I tried to get him to do it again but had no luck. Little stinker!
I looooove the idea of snow and always get excited for the first one...if we even get any. That wears off for me fast. Since it doesn't snow much here no one is prepared for it. Our road never gets plowed and H's work usually gets canceled. There's also a good chance our power will go off. This is with like 3 to 8 inches of snow lol.
M figured out how to stand up in his crib in his sleep sack. It made bedtime basically impossible tonight. Crying and screaming at the door. Luckily dad had more patience than me and rubbed his back to get him to sleep. Tomorrow he will start sleeping in footie jammies, I feel like it is safer. His balance is not the best and especially in the stupid sleep sack.
Haddie is trying to stand unsupported. She can go a few seconds and then lands on her bum.
And the sleeping on the bed is going pretty well. I really thought I'd hate bed sharing but it's pretty restful.
I love snow but there is actually less now that I'm living in Canada then when I was back home.
So it actually was pretty awesome! C only woke twice all night and went back down easily each time. The best part was, he slept for almost 4 hours before his first wake up - MH and I actually got to hang out together, relax and go to bed at the same time!
He didn't stay down when I set him down drowsy, but I didn't expect it to work the first day, I'm sure that will take a long time. But I think what helped was nursing him earlier in the bedtime routine - I think he filled up more because he wasn't as sleepy yet.
I wore did in the ergo for 3 hours at a suicide prevention walk and awareness event and my shoulders are so sore. That's the longest I've worn her in a long time. It was also raining and nasty. She did great though and I figured out how to nurse her in it.
