So I know several of us have talked about taking time for ourselves. It's hard at times to sort out our individuality in the many roles we fill. So let's talk about it and congratulate each and stuff.
I'm actually taking the time to crochet something for myself.
It's been a while since I've done any crocheting (actually almost a year now that I think about it.) I love the pattern and it's one I can half way focus on. Relaxing
ampaints thanks for this thread! I will definitely be following for inspiration! I also haven't knitted (crocheted) anything for a long time! I actually have a wrap I made last year that I need to finish. As per my post in weekend randoms, I am in desperate need of finding something for myself. I would love to start jogging again, or even walking in the evenings. We are planning to start the Whole 30 on Tuesday, perhaps that will help me make some other changes. Right now me time consists of wine, candy crush and netflix.

I'm having a hard time finding time for myself.
I desperately need to start going to the gym but trying to wrap my head around how to fit that in is frustrating. But I really need to make it a priority since working out is how I've managed some chronic pain I have from dance injuries.

Is lunch time an option, at least for days you are actually working at home? I'm too tired after bedtime and too out of it for early morning, lunch time has worked out really well for me. And working from home you don't even need to worry about being sweaty around co-workers (yes, I shower, but I am still a little gross)
Making time for myself us so hard to do! I do a girls night with my friends but not enough if them. I go to the gym. And that's about it. I need more me time too.
2dumbdogs, I don't take a lunch so I can work a shorter day.
I really think I need to just bite the bullet and get up early but sleep.
All my excuses are related to feeling like I need to make myself available for someone else mainly DH/kids or work.
Do you need to work a shorter day? Your kids are probably having fun in daycare, an extra 30 minutes so you can workout won't even matter as long as it's already included in your daycare tuition, you're paying whether you use it or not.
Not since we are using a center rather than an in-home day care. Typically in the afternoon, I have a few minutes to do a little housework, start dinner, whatever. Or do more work.
I'm using the gym as me time. It helps me manage my knee injury, my mood/stress, and helps me sleep. Hopefully I'll start enjoying it more soon and W too because worrying about him crying takes some of the "me time " out of it. I'm also crocheting a blanket for myself. I've made so many things for other people but I rarely make anything for myself so I figure it's a good idea.

I wish I could go to a gym! Our small town has one but I just haven't ever had the time. Like skinandbones I always feel like I have to be available to everyone. Like I find it hard to schedule concrete things for myself (at specific times).
Although lately I'm noticing that Dh doesn't have this problem so I am trying to just say yes when asked by friends to go out (like he would) and then work everything around that.
I've really gotten into planning and crafting the past couple of months and that gives me a bit of relief.
Bullet journal:
And my happy planner (I print the pages on full size labels and cut out all the little stickers to arrange and stick on):
+1 to being available whenever. I finally said f it and said to H, I'm going to the gym in the morning and I'll ve back at this time. Kids need to stay on their normal schedules. (That means he has to get them up and fed by himself).
It's not much but it's a start. Oh I also sign up for 5ks and just inform him a few days ahead of them.
tuscanlatte, talk to me about bullet journaling...
I didn't really know much about it but I find it really relaxing. I'm taking a 30 day course in it and I love it! So basically it's a planner/collection of lists. There is lots of stuff on instagram for inspiration. I find I'm fairly creative but I don't really know where to start usually. I use it to write down anything in my head (vaccines, dr schedules, vet appts, books I've read, movies I want to watch, home maintenance, etc). Then it leaves my mind and I can relax but it's also a creative outlet. Some examples!
It's a Peter Pauper Press essentials grid book (I think it was around $12 in Canada?)
I really want a 1917 Leuchtturm dot grid if you want to go for the cadillac immediately I think they have them on amazon. I've heard awesome things about JB Welly in the US too. They ship really fast and wrap it super nice. www.jbwelly.com/notebooks/leuchtturm1917-a5-notebook-light-blue

Yes! skinandbones I have one for work but it's not pretty at all. It is super handy though because on any given day if asked what I did, I have all of the things written down and I can answer pretty solidly. Makes me look more put together than my coworker (not hard lol).

tuscanlatte, welp, I just lurked the planner thread in parenting.
I'm going to start with bullet journal my life. I'm pretty sure I'll be adding a planner as well. Or figure out how to do a 2 for 1 once I figure out what I want to "do."
