A doesn't really stick to one toy right now, I'm fixing to purge all of his baby ones But, he seems to like things that are interactive or cause and effect. He likes his little drill and tool set. He has a dump truck where you push rocks brought a hole. He likes his race car, but he doesn't have the dexterity to work the little tools yet. These are some of the things on my wish list:
LO is really into DD's tools and tool bench. As a result, DD has gotten interested in it again too. LO still likes playing with blocks. He also likes playdoh, but mostly for trying to eat it. He also loves DD's art stuff but still wants to chew/eat them.
Yesterday we got out DD's castle tent and the two of them where having lots of fun playing with that. I got DD that tent when she was about LO's age. Would recommend.
Maybe as a stocking stuffer, LO is really into snow globes. I try to limit him to the cheap plastic ones.
I have a wish list for him but it is still really fluid. One thing for sure I think I want to get him is a mini suitcase like DD has for quick trips out of town.
ETA: I forgot about Mr. Potato head. He still loves Mrs. Potato Head.

We also have that dump truck on our wish list that heartofglass and pghtruelove mentioned. DS currently has a similar fire truck that he got for Christmas last year, but it got so much use it broke.
He loves building blocks. We have the Fisher Price Mega Blocks now, but have some Duplo on our wish list for him.
And Little People. We have this farm (and a tractor): He's a big fan. We got him a Mickey Mouse house and the advent calendar already (though I guess technically the advent calendar is a pre-Christmas gift).
I also have this thing on there:
I have a few other toys on there that have caught my eye - V-Tech makes this walker/scooter thing that looks cool, a tool bench, puzzles, books. H and I are making the list half to keep an eye on things we like if they go on sale, and half because grandparents are starting to bug us. I also always remind them that books and donations to his college fund make excellent gifts.
ETA - I forgot a major current favorite toy - the Go Go Smart cars. We've collected the garage, a race set, and a train set so far and he loves playing with them. It's one of the few current toys that hold his attention for longer than about five minutes!
LO loves the little people sets (she's getting the barn and Disney world set for Xmas and the advent calendar). She's always carrying them around.
Books are huge here. She really loves lift the flap ones. Invest in tape!
We have Melissa and Doug fridge magnets that LO also loves. we have princesses, Mickey Mouse, animals, and farm. I'm likely getting the vehicles one for her for Xmas.
She's also really into blocks. We have duplos, Melissa and Doug ABC blocks, and these Melissa and Doug ABC stacking blocks she loves.
BeatBo anything has always been huge. She's getting the BeatBo dance mat for Xmas.
She's starting some pretend play (she will stir something in a bowl and pretend to feed it to her babies/us) so we're also getting her a kitchen set.

jillywilly we have that pop up tunnel set. It's a lot bigger than I was expecting (I could have read the specs, but didn't). We use it to keep his balls in. He's not too keen on the tunnel since he started walking because he gets in it and tries to stand up.

Her favorite things right now are balls, cars, blocks, and babies. She's currently obsessed with putting baby into and out of the toy high chair that used to be at her aunties/cousins house and is now at our. Obsessed. Her most favorite are books, she's always got a few around no matter what else she's doing.
She got this train for her birthday and is just now getting more into the actual activities you can do with it. I feel like this one will last awhile.
I'm hoping Christmas brings a bunch of clothes honestly. Toy wise I feel like less is really more for her, when she's got a bunch of stuff around she gets overwhelmed. I'd like some more, different blocks.. baby accessories, a "center" type of toy like a kitchen or tool shop, she loves those when we're at the library. I want some little people, animals, dinosaurs.. that type of thing.

Oh yea and something meant to be climbed on. I'm tired of and feel bad about all the "put your feet on the floor" and having nothing appropriate to redirect her to.

1. What is your LO's favorite toy(s) right now? mostly the playset outside: swings, slide, climbing. If he's indoors his favorites are the ball drop, whacky balls, or Melissa and Doug pounding bench.
2. What does your LO play with in the tubby? we have squirt toys, but mostly he plays with a bowl
3. What are you getting LO for xmas or asking others to get LO for xmas? still working on his Christmas/ Chanukah list. I know for sure he's getting pajamas, a personalized beach towel, slippers, a chanukah book, and a baby doll. Possibly a quiet book if I can find one that's not a million dollars.

Boo. I'm bummed to hear it's not as much fun. I don't mind something big, since we currently have a dining room that holds nothing but a few boxes still to be unpacked, so i figured I'd look for something he can climb for the winter. Maybe I'll do a regular ball pit instead. Or go back to the drawing board.

We'll just because A doesn't play with it much doesn't mean your LO won't! I'm looking for things for him to climb on now, like instead of over the back of the couch.
Loving - anything he can push, mower, shopping cart, doll stroller. His thomas table train set, he learned how to connect them and pull them along the track recently. And he would live outside if he could - sandbox, swing, collecting rocks, running wild
Tub - his sisters hair and a couple of old shampoo bottles
Xmas - I started putting together a list today but didnt get very far. I know Ill get a couple of Usborn books because my friend is having a charity sale with them. Besides that I have no idea

LO is really into sports. Her favorite toy is this. SO wants to get her a real tball set for Christmas, but I think we should wait until her bday. She also loves to kick, hit, throw and catch balls. We have all kinds of sizes and textures of balls. Balls are her number 1 toy that she plays with. This purse has been a hit, she loves dinosaurs and carrying around purses, so best of both worlds! Also books. She loves them. Right now her favorite thing is her highlights magazine. If you don't have highlights and are looking for a good Christmas gift, I highly recommend. The magazines are "indestructible".
We will probably get her some sports related gifts for Christmas. Will also get her a cleaning set. She has a (crappy/broken) broom and she loves to push it around and she loves taking cloths and rubbing them everywhere. MIL is getting her the IKEA kitchen.
1. What is your LO's favorite toy(s) right now? A Melissa and Doug doorbell house. It's an older toy that one of DS's friends gave her. It was his older sister's and they found it in storage one day. She can't get the keys into the locks, but she loves trying. It entertains her forever.
I forgot about this. We have it too, originally bought for DD. LO and DD fight over it.

That's true, but I can see the part where he can't stand to be frustrating for my kid, too. I'm looking for things to keep him (safely) active inside the house during the winter.
Am I crazy for thinking about getting something like this: It would go into our empty dining room for the winter - and then very possibly get moved outside in the summer. I'm just wondering how much sense it make to buy one of these little sets, as opposed to a full-fledged swing-set come his birthday? We are hoping to have another kid still one day, so there's that potential for more use. STM + moms, how long of a life do these have? Like, is DS going to be totally over it by the end of next summer?
jillywilly, we have the tunnel and tent from IKEA. Both my kids still love playing with them! I keep it tucked away in the closet and pull it out for when they need something new to do. Like if they are hanging on me in the kitchen and being clingy and whiny I can be like "heyyyy, what about THIS!!" Keeps them entertained for good solid chunk of time.

jillywilly not crazy at all. I plan on moving A's outdoor cube climber that's even bigger than that I'm the garage as soon as we get it cleaned out. I wish I could find something smaller like that that wouldn't take up as much space.

1. What is your LO's favorite toy(s) right now?
For actual toys, mostly cars. They are everywhere. We also have the VTech dump truck as well as the helicopter, and the little people bus. He will also get out some blocks, or balls that make noise/light up. Oh, and we have a gear toy that he likes because he can spin the gears and it lights up and plays music. He also is really into touchy feely books and slide and see books.
As far as non-toys, he likes playing with the remotes upside down, because the buttons make a funny sound. He also likes to pull our catchphrase game off the shelf, start the microwave, and reprogram H's alarm clock.
2. What does your LO play with in the tubby?
Do the anti slip mat and the drain count? He just likes splashing.
3. What are you getting LO for xmas or asking others to get LO for xmas?
Oh my. I have kind of a lot for him already. I picked up some melissa and doug puzzles on prime day, the zany zoo, drum, and keyboard from target, and some more cars. He will also be getting some new books. My parents have been asking for months what to get him. His wish list has mega blocks, a kids table and chairs, long sleeve shirts (because I forgot to buy some clearance ones? Or maybe I never found any), and shoes. Thinking about adding a set of swim lessons or something like that.
LO lov3s musical instruments. He's obsessed with his drums and xylophone and also with anything he can push around. Little people are also big in our house.
SO we went to a consignment store yesterday and my mom bought LO a plastic rocker/see saw, a popcorn popper push toy, and a little tikes toy wagon. Huge hits over here!
