Since I'm still getting crotch kicks I'm going to guess mine is. But, she's moving around my belly more so I'm hoping one of these days gravity will help her out.

I'm pretty sure my LO is also transverse though at a head down angle - I feel the vast majority of kicks on my right side between my ribs and hip (though he does like to jam his feet into my rib cage on occasion), and also feel some jabs on my left side more in my hip/top of my pelvis area. I also feel babys hiccups closer to that area. Sometimes it feels like he's trying to stretch out in there and I get the big kick to the right and the big jab to the left at the same time.

I have no idea. My doctor hasn't checked yet, although I'm sure that may be at the next appointment. Baby was head down at the 20 week u/s, but I'm not really sure he/she still is. I guess it doesn't really matter for me since I'm having an RCS anyway. But DS2 was a total surprise breech. Good thing I opted for the RCS instead of attempting a VBAC with him. I would've been livid!

I've heard that seeing a chiropractor can help. It's probably better to start seeing one early so baby still has room to flip. I don't know if this is coincidental, but I saw one throughout my second pregnancy and I didn't even have to push when it was time for her to come. She came out on her own, my OB didn't make it to the hospital in time, and the nurse had to catch her with one gloved hand lol.

I'm 29 weeks and have one breech and one transverse! I'm secretly hoping for a c-section so I'm totally fine if they stay that way as long as it doesn't interfere with their health/growth/etc.

I've got 1 transverse over here! They want to start talking delivery options around 33 weeks - but that might be because of twins.

Baby was breech at my 20 week appointment. No idea if that's still the case or not.

lbonga1, I'm seeing a chiro for my hip, but also to potentially help her flip. I've seen him twice and even after just the first session I could tell the baby was using more of her space and was moving around more. He did some gentle release on my round ligaments(which felt awesome btw) which I think helped.

At my last ultrasound, 3 wks ago I think, baby was head down.  At around this time (31 wks) I could feel DS head down as well.  I could feel the outline of his foot at the top of my belly.  With this baby, I can't tell.  He feels like he rolls around a lot. And I can't tell if I'm feeling kicks or jabs. But I'll be RCS so not too concerned.

I have no idea, and my doctor hasn't mentioned it at all. Maybe she will today? I get lots of movement in my hip bones and right behind my belly button, so maybe she's transverse? I was getting a lot of bladder kicks, but not so much anymore. I think she still has room though, becuase she definitely curls up on one side or the other, especially when I'm side sleeping, and my stomach is completely lopsided.

W, at some point they can actually feel the head, but I can definitly tell that her feet are low and kicking me in my pelvis. I think they can tell too with the doppler, if the heart is below the midline of the belly then they tend to be head down, if the heart is above the midline then the general guess is transverse or breech.

Honestly, I can't tell a kick from a punch so if not for an ultrasound 2 weeks ago, I'd have no idea. I think MWs and OBs can feel the positioning externally, but I'm not positive on that.

mrsp121308, for me punches are a lot lighter feeling than a kick. Baby girl has some force with her little feeties. Plus, when I saw her breech on the ultrasound a few weeks ago it clarified what I was feeling. Right now though, something is up in my ribs and I have no idea what it is.

My OB told me a lot of what I'm feeling is probably elbows and knees vs hands and feet. And then there are the hiccups too. So who knows what is what

So, this is baby #3 and I can't tell the freakin difference between a kick, punch, elbow, jab, etc. HA! With DS1, I definitely felt rib shots. With DS2, not so much. But it did feel like a lot of pain and uncomfortableness in my cervix area. Figured out at delivery (RCS) that he was surprise breech and probably his foot down there. With this one, I feel a lot of shots in the hip area and middle of stomach. Nothing in the ribs really. So I have no idea which way baby is facing.

The OB can usually feel where the head is. With naughty DS2, I had two different OB's feel and tell me he was head down. Nope, turns out it was his butt. They're pretty sure he didn't turn breech that late.

FWIW, I was having an RCS anyway, but I'm not sure I would've tried a version to try to turn him. I'm scared after hearing it's painful. Cause you know.... labor or c/s's aren't. Lol

My doctor told me that due to my placenta placement (anterior) that they probably wouldn't even attempt a version on me if the kiddo continues to be breech.

Still breech at 31+3. My OB suggested today that I try the exercises on the Spinning Babies website and if that doesn't do the trick in 2 weeks, try acupuncture. Anyone done the Spinning Babies stuff?

I haven't started the spinning babies stuff yet, I'll know on Friday if I need to. Literally everyone has recommended it- my doc, acupuncturist, chiropractor, even my hospital put it in their labor and delivery information. There must be something to it if so many different groups recommend it.

Good point. I know he was breech at my last ultrasound at 28+2 weeks, but I won't get another US until 36 weeks.

The spinning stuff makes me nervous. DS was sunny side up, so they had me do some exercises to get him to turn so he was facing the right way. I'm not a doctor, but my intuition tells me that's what caused the cord to get wrapped around his body and resulted in my emergency c-section. I had a bad feeling from the get go about doing it and I really wish I hadn't ignored my instincts. I would have rather risked him being born sunny side up than wind up with what I did!

I guess my point here is to do the stuff that will help the baby flip, but if your mommy intuition tells you something isn't right, don't ignore it.

I don't know what exercises are recommended for a sunny side up baby, but the ones recommended for trying to flip a breech baby are pretty gentle and quite similar to a lot of the gentle inversions you'd be doing in prenatal yoga (things like downward dog).  I agree with following your intuition, though, if something does not feel right.

That said, I am skeptical of Spinning Babies (or any things that supposedly help turn a breech baby) for a different reason - the stats are that only 4-5% of babies are breech at the time of delivery. The others will turn at some point during pregnancy. Some of those babies will turn in 2nd tri, and some at various points during 3rd tri. I think a lot of the babies that turn between 30-40 weeks supposedly due to Spinning Babies or acupuncture or bodywork would have probably turned anyway. It's hard to tell what percentage of those breech turns are coincidental. And the ones that don't turn despite all that stuff are maybe the 4-5% that wouldn't have turned anyway.

Same kind of exercises.  And similar to this baby, I practiced yoga all throughout my pregnancy.
