I took DD to swim class this morning and we it was good fun. Next week will be fall break here. No pre-school, dance or swim for DD, no work or practical days for me. Maybe the house gets to be a bit cleaner than it is now. Sunday and Monday we'll visit my sister and go to a zoo near her. Should be fun.

DS doesn't have school today. He's already managed to stress me out. Woof. We have to make a Walmart run & then I *may* take him to this make your own puppet thing a small art gallery in our town is hosting today for the kids since day off.

Last night was rough. I was off of work, but spent a good amount of time making phone calls and putting out fires. Then this kid...he normally sleeps well, but he's been like screaming/screeching in his sleep? Not sure how to describe it. All I know is I was wound up from work stuff so I didn't get to bed until 130, then he started in a few minutes later and didn't really settle until 4. He's doing it again now but I'm trying to ignore it because he's not actually awake. Anyone experienced this before?

This sounds like Night Terrors. When you go in to console him does he not seem to know you are there?
DS started having them when he was around 16 months old. They were bad for awhile. Someone suggested we adjust his bed time so he got more sleep and it helps. Even at 7.5 years old any big shifts in his sleep schedule (staying up too late) result in night terrors. Save

Do they wake up for night terrors. He definitely wasn't awake. He was still lying down, eyes closed. Changed diaper and gave tylenol in case it was teething, didn't help. Possibly a stomachache? He goes to bed between 8 and 9, but often doesn't fall asleep until a little later. We get up most morning between 8 and 830, and he takes a 2-3 hour nap sometime between 1230 and 4
This was another long week of crazy at work and I'm spent. I think we are going to phone it in a bit and do a movie night tonight.
I think SO and I have finally decided on a time frame for our wedding - March / April of 2018. I know it's a pretty far away but we are footing the bill alone so we need the time to save up. We have looked at a few places so far, and I have two more appointments tomorrow.

DS has them both asleep and where he appears awake but he's generally got his eyes closed and he will yell, scream and cry.
They make a product now called Lully that basically vibrates the bed and resets their sleep before they hit the night terror part of the sleep cycle. It's $199. We don't have one because it came out way after the worst of ours. www.lullysleep.com
DS is and was a great sleeper but like I said any changes and it is a mess. He will have one tonight since we won't be in St. Louis until like 12 and he won't sleep in the car.

DS has had his spout of night terrors through the years. He'll scream, cry, flare his arms/legs & will completely be unresponsive when trying to shush him or get him to say something. Unfortunately you just have to ride it out & let them be.. at least that's how it is for us. It's scary as hell. Almost like he's possessed. Luckily, it hasn't happened in a while. :knocks on all the damn wood:

Went to the puppet making thing. DS had a good time although slightly hesitant when in a room of unfamiliar people. We spent a good hour there so we were leaving when a bunch of people were coming in so probably beat the 'crowds.' Lol I've been playing with photos & DS has been totally content with the dang puppet & is in his playroom making a book. He's been super into coloring, drawing, creating, everything. I'm enjoying the calm.
@pennygirl2013, I used to live on the NorCal coast and have experienced storms like that. I hope you can ride it out with no damage!
I'm mostly not working today, just doing a bit of scheduling and running some errands. Tomorrow we're heading to ILs for SILs baby shower which will be fun. Very happy to be ending my busy week!

I'm prepping dinner so all we have to do is toss it in the oven when we get home. A county park close to us has their annual Halloween trail. It starts tonight. So we're gonna go to get it over with since it's a nice day. They make it without a scare factor before 7 & then after, it gets scary. We're gonna time it to be there for both. Actually, we'll eat before. I thought it got scary at 6. We'll have plenty of time to eat. It's gonna be a late night.

Sunday we have a kid's birthday party.
That's not too far. Please feel free to share any wedding stuff, like if you want opinions on dresses. Not that I'm very stylish, but I love looking at wedding dresses. 😊
Thank you!
I feel like I have to book the place first, before I shop for a dress, right?
I'm so dumb with wedding planning, I eloped the first time.
I am sorry, @misspeansmama, that sounds like a weird situation to be in, mixed feelings and all. Hopefully there won't be further cuts in the future, and your co-workers find new places soon.
Anyone else in the PNW? Tomorrow is supposed to be a horrible storm, and I'm anxious about that.
I'm in WA and it's already starting where I live. Super windy and I lost power for about an hour. I was anxious when I went out today but I think this weekend we will just stick close to home.

We're finally home. It was good, he had fun.lol DS was weirdly sort of scared at only one scare station & he kept covering his face with his hands on his glasses. So at one point he somehow knocked them off his face. Thank jeebus a ranger was right near us & saw & we got them. Could have been a disaster. Then waiting in line is another disaster with him. He can be so embarrassing. Ugh. Then more troubles when we got home. Nights can be soul sucking around here lately. 😞
@misspeansmama I went through lots of big layoffs at my last company. It's basically the worst. It will feel really weird for awhile and then you'll find a new normal. I'm glad you were spared!

I sure hope it's a phase @rocknrollfriend He's for the most part okay but bedtime is usually the worst. He just stalls, fools around, gets defiant. I think I heard through the grapevine 5 can get bad so like all his other weird phases, hopefully this one gtfo soon. Eta: my theory is that he behaves so well in school that he just has all this build up naughty behaviors & lets us have it. Lol although he didn't have school yesterday
