DD (17m) is going to be a Baby Monster! It's so cute, she's a lot smaller than this of course! And it's good because it's usually cold here on Halloween so we can layer under this!
I'm not dressing up as of right now.. we were invited to a Halloween party but now that I'm pregnant I don't want to go anymore ..
We are going trick or treating near our house and doing a couple other Halloween things in our area starting next week!
MrsEmuTavi - That's the cutest skunk I've ever seen!
brittneysandra - I feel you on the layers. I grew up in FL where it was the opposite of cold on Halloween so never an issue. Moving up to the Midwest I feel so bad the years we get bad snow or sideways ice storms. We saw kids trick-or-treating in taxis because there was no way to walk around.
As for me, I'm not a huge fan of Halloween. I don't mind it and will dress up if we get invited to a party, but none of our friends throw any so we usually don't bother with costumes. I do enjoy handing out candy to the kids in our building when they come by. We've lived here for a few years now so we've been watching them grow up. So cute!
Lots of Halloween stuff to do in Chicago and with a toddler. So we have a busy month.
DD's official day of costume is a cat. For her cousin's birthday party we will be part of the birthday girl's crew. Bday girl is Dorothy and DD will be the Cowardly lion. I'm leaning to being a yellow brick road. Trying to convince DH to be a flying monkey.
No ToT the night of, but we'll probably hit up a park or zoo party the two weekends before.
I'm super excited because this is the first Halloween where I'm either not working that night or have to be to work super early the next morning that I've had since graduating from college. DH and I will set out a bowl of candy and take DD around ToTing to the houses on our block. Then we'll come home and pass out candy. DD is going to be a ladybug. It's one of those well-insulated, works well for layering costumes. Oh, and she'll be stinkin' adorable in it.

Taking suggestions for low key adult costumes. I work in a preschool and they want staff to dress up. I'm thinking I'll just find a pumpkin tee shirt, not sure.
DD chose to be a doctor, which I'm super stoked about. She is really into Frozen and ballerinas so I thought for sure she woukd pick that, but she said doctor. Although, today she said she wants to be a pumpkin with me... I got her doctor costume already but it's so cute that she wants to dress up the same as me. I might be a doctor just for her sake.

@applemuffin you could always do animal ears.. I was thinking of this for me and my SO if we ended going to that Halloween party.. easy enough except the makeup might be a little more complicated than a cat or bunny
cheezee, maybe kitty ears with rainbow/whiskers face paint? The children's place has some different rainbow style pants-you could sew a tail on them? Also, I love kid's imaginations.

Good ideas! I do love her imagination but I seriously lack the creativity. Maybe I can whip something up!

DD's original idea for Halloween was to be a Christmas/Santa Princess. I'm glad that didn't last long! If you have a Kohl's nearby, they have had some ridiculous rainbowy leggings, some prints with kittens on it. DD owns a pair, of course.

Ds1 is 4 and he is going to be a ninja. Ds2 is a monkey. Both costume wise and literally. I'm going with old trusty, the witch. I actually bought a tulle skirt this year.

DD is going to be mickey mouse. everyone keeps asking me why she's not minnie (eye roll)...she loves MICKEY!
DH and i are supposed to go to a halloween party, and we're going to be wayne and stacey (from wayne's world). anyone know if that colored hair spray will wash out of blonde hair? i need red hair to be authentic. ha. but like brittneysandra i'm not that excited about going now that i'm pregnant. i really don't want to tell anyone so i'll have to fake drink.
DS1 is going to be a monkey. Or that's the plan but he hates to hat part of the costume. DH and I won't be dressing up. (C is only 16 months, so we won't be going to too many houses.)
