I was rubbed the wrong way by my aunt making a point of saying "she was VERY close to Grandpa so this is soo hard on her" to me about my older cousin (who is the specialist of snowflakes) right after my Grandpa passed.
We were all very close to him. No need to put someone on a pedastle, right?
But your aunt's behaviour is some next level shit. I would be extremely irritated to recieve a thank you card like that. Extremely.
Washing diapers cause all my covers were dirty. DS looks cute in just the cloth.
Do you use snappis? To save money this time around I will just be buying some more covers and using prefolds my mom gave me. I will have to figure out how to put them on a newborn until just using inserts is possible, and I hear that Snappis are a must have.

We went to BRU today to make sure the car seat will fit in the car without a lot of fuss. It was fine so that's one thing done! And now we're free to drive this car into the ground, lol.

I do and I love them. I don't see how my mom and grandmas got by with just pins.

Good to know! My mom used pins and there is no chance in hell I would be doing that.

Yes, she acted like she was the only one to lose a mother, and everyone else was just in the way while she was trying to grieve. My mom was trying to help her get everything done, but after a week of being told her emotions weren't as important as hers, she was just sick of it.

Im so sorry for your mom. That must have added on such a huge layer of unnecessary frustration during what was already a very difficult time. Just awful.
obi boingos are an alternative option to snapis. Fwiw I have never used them but I think they're cute!
And eeeewwwwwe factor. My mom said her fingers were always infected from poking herself with diaper pins. Dnw. Puke. Gag. Vom.
And plus also if you are feeling fancy and need more than just prefolds flour sack towels are sold in kitchen isles in packs of 10 or 12 for cheap and they are great for newborns because they are super thin, but you fold to fit your baby.
This is great info. Thanks! I have heard FST's mentioned so many times but haven't looked into them. I'll see if my local grocer carries them.

Oh now I know to look at walmart for these flour sack towels.
I had grand plans for cleaning my place todag, and basically every room has about 5 minutes of cleaning in it. That's about 25 mins worth. The couch feels so comfy though.

That infected finger story is going to creep my dreams. Lol
One of my grandmas had very small babies and she said for a while she could just tie the diapers in a knot. I thought that was cute.
. a Buick Regal. To be honest, it wasn't on my radar at all, but my husband wanted to look at them so we went today and ended up buying it!
Our other car (an SUV) is paid off- our plan was pretty much the same as yours! What are you thinking?
We are special snowflakes who actually sort of share cars based on who is doing what on that particular day. For example, the dog only goes in the SUV (Jeep Cherokee)- so whoever is dropping the dog at day care usually takes that car.
I don't really know where to put this so I hope it's okay here. I've been thinking a lot about the brothers I never got to meet on this pregnancy and infant loss day. We say I'm the oldest but really I'm the middle child with twin older brothers and two living younger brothers. My parents never made them a secret and I'm glad for that because it made them part of our family even for those of us who never got to meet them. I just struggle with where to express my thoughts (I know there's a thread but I feel awkward posting there) because they weren't my babies but I want to honour them today.
@amandah2 I know how your feeling. My mom had a late term loss before my older brother. He was never a secret and gets referred to by name fairly often throughout the year. My mom and dad still think about him and he is not forgotten. I keep thinking what would have been. Maybe I wouldn't have been here since they would have maybe only had two kids. It's so crazy to think about the what ifs. {Hugs}.
mikaela20, that's similar to my family, the twins were a late term loss. My brothers have names and we would go around their birthday to visit their grave. It is weird to think that I might not be here and my younger brothers almost certainly would not be if the twins had survived. They would have been in the same grade in school as my husband.

We are up and about to get ready for church. By we I mean ds and I. Dh is the one all "let's go to church tomorrow" and is still asleep even though we need to leave in 35 minutes. He better enjoy the days of sleeping until he needs to get himself ready since I'll need help with a second one.
Our bffs that are due 3 weeks after us are in town and we are going to try to see them at some point. We haven't seen each other since we told each other the news back in August. And for a ftm she has the cutest little bump. I can't wait to see them!
erinshelley21 that was all too familiar here when we had DD. With the addition of DS, I told him I'd either be leaving one with him, or we would all go. Worked out well for me. Haha! Enjoy your time with your BFFs!!
@justinslovo yikes! That's hot... Even for me, who enjoys rooms to be tropical. FX for that nap!
Got up at 5... Then spent the next hour thinning out honey because my throat is super sore. Mmm, vinegar and honey at 6 AM... At least it's making my throat feel better.

I love honey and lemon juice!
Definitely sounds better. But this is what I grew up on, and I don't have any lemon juice... I'll have to try that though.
