In the spirit of UO Thursday/FFFC, I am sharing that DH and I used the Shettles method for timing when trying for LO#2. We have DD already and were intrigued by the possibility of increasing the odds of having a boy. I want to clarify that we will be so happy to have EITHER a boy or a girl, but we thought, what the heck, let's try it for one month and see what happens. We were lucky enough to get pregnant on the first try, so here we are.
20-week ultrasound is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon, so we will see! Hoping for a healthy baby, but curious to find out the sex too!

How interesting! Can't wait to hear if it could have worked for you. I read about the method but never put it into practice. Hoping for a great us either way tomorrow for you with a healthy baby boy or girl!!
This makes me LOL, but not at you, about something from my other BMB.
Background: I've read about the Shettle's Method, and I agree it's intriguing, and in all honesty I'd take any bet if it had 50/50 odds, but there was a girl on my other BM group that insisted that this theory was more fact, so she was positive she was having a girl (long before a 20 week ultra sound) so she was asking for opinions on whether or not buying pink and prepping the nursery for a girl was a good idea.
So, after much debate on whether is was a theory or actually fact, and many snarky comments. One of the women said something along the lines of, "You guys are all wrong. It's called the Skettles method. You put a red skettle up your vagina for a girl and a green one for a boy." I still snort laugh when I see skettles in the checkout at the grocery store.
sep509bride, I didn't keep up with the woman's story. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if she left, she didn't come off as the brightest bulb, and the other BMB was pretty snarky.
Based on temping and Fertility friend etc, I am pretty sure that Shettles had the opposite effect for us. We weren't trying the Shettles method, but whatever we did (without thinking about it) was for a boy, and we got DD. I am really happy we have DD, so I am glad it didn't work according to the theory.
