DD2 is submitting an official request to be 1 again

On her 2nd birthday she got the stomach flu and had a fever. That was Friday. On Tuesday she was running around, slipped, whacked her head on a door frame and got a nasty cut on her head that was streaming blood so we got to take a trip to the hospital (apparently they don't do stitches for that kind of thing anymore? They glued it and put a special bandage on it). Today she woke up with a 103° fever - the flu (the real one- as in, influenza) is in a major outbreak here right now, and in small children one of the first symptoms is a sudden high fever.

So within the first week she turned 2, she had the stomach flu, got a gaping head wound, and now another high fever and possible influenza. She has decided that being 2 is not cool at all and wants to be 1 again. I agree.

I don't blame her . On DDs birthfay - both she and I had the flu too. First time I've ever had the actual flu.

Oh my, what a rough week! Maybe this means the rest of the year will be extra nice? Fingers crossed!

DS got stitches back in October and they said the reason they were going to stitch it rather than glue was because it was along his eyebrow - it was a trickier spot and they wanted it to heal nicely since it was on his face.

Poor thing (and poor mama)! DS got a gash in his head a couple of months ago and they just glued it too. I think it was much less traumatic than stitches.
