I have a half day today (obviously to celebrate the above birthdays). So I scheduled a hair appointment. I'm not sure what to do. I think I'm just going to have her trim it up, but I'd kinda like to go a little darker.

My work schedule got changed again. They put them on the bus, which is awesome (they get picked up at 1230 and dropped off at 430. I was dropping them off at 1 and picking up at 330). So they want me to go back to mon, wed, thurs. Which is fine because Monday is my typical 8 or so hours, but most wed and thurs, I will only have to work 9-1230. Then I can go home for DDs nap. If I have to get them off the bus (their dad said he will try real hard to be there in time), I'll just go back over there, get them off the bus, and have them for like 30 min. I hope this is my last schedule change, but I can't really complain cause it a not a bad deal.

JoBub and anyone else who is handy around the house... Is there a proper way to paint a door other than the obvious priming and painting? Is there a special type of door paint? I wanna paint our front door this weekend (steel door).

Rustoleum brand paint is good for this. Also, if you're able to, the easiest way will be to remove the entire door, remove or tape the hardware, and spray paint it. Rustoleum has spray paint also. And then you're guaranteed no brush strokes, no drips. But that means you have to be able to do it in the morning so you can get a few coats on and let it dry completely to hang it back up before you go to bed.
babylove518, here's some links. This is an oil based paint, so it'll be durable. It's a pain in the ass to clean though, so you'll want some mineral spirits or paint thinner. And brush cleaner if you want to save the brush (but I usually just throw the brush away if I'm using oil based paint).

babylove518 painting metal is all about prepwork. Clean the surface really, really well. I would take a fine grit sand paper to the door before priming, this will make the primer/paint better adhere to the door. Like jobub said, be sure to remove/tape over all hardware. Other than that, focus on thin, even coats, especially if you're going to use spray paint. If you don't like how something dries, or you mess up a coat, sand the area down a bit and try again.
Ugh. We just got an email that, in order to be competitive with other schools, our dean wants to offer more "College Credit Plus" courses, which basically means the teacher would be employed as adjunct faculty at a university and the students could get college credit. My AP Calculus class would be a contender for that, except I don't have a masters degree, so I wouldn't be able to teach it. The email specifically said that department chairs are being asked to make sure that teachers who are qualified are properly paired with the courses.
I had a feeling this would happen, so I started looking into a masters program that I could do in the summers. The good news is, they might give me some money towards that. The bad news is, there are three other math teachers who are already qualified and they might just give the class to one of them. And my department chair is on retreat until Friday so I can't even talk to her about it.
JoBub and mrscatfarmer13 thanks for the tips! For some reason, I'm scared to use spray paint. I think I'm afraid of it coming out uneven?
Practice on a sheet of cardboard or something. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy to do. The trick is to start off to the side (so have newspaper down or something) press the button, then sweep it all the way off the other side and come back. You get the unevenness when you press or release the button, and when you linger for a moment to turn around. So make sure all of those things happen off to the side.
Guise I'm getting my hair done and this guy is so boring...it's awkward conversation. I probably won't come back bc of that unless my hair looks absolutely amazing.

Where are you getting it done? Feel free to answer in PB.

Good luck sstwinklinglites . Is this definitely it it? What happened?
They have someone in the NY office, and they are literally trying to pass her work on to me, with no benefits to me for taking it on. I figured, better tell them now that I'm done so nobody's time get's wasted here. She can keep her work or they can pass it to someone else, or pass it to whoever takes over for me.
