I have been looking forward to this weekend for a while! Saturday we are going to an OB appointment in the morning and then going to boo at the zoo! I can't wait!! Sunday we get to meet up with one of my BFF who just had a baby!

Well, my MIL got in last night, and as expected, she's already getting on my nerves. She insists on talking to DD in the most obnoxious high-pitched voice you've ever heard in your life. It's like nails on a chalkboard!
H is going to Top Golf for a few hours with some buddies from work after work and leaving me alone with his mother during that time. I am absolutely dreading it so very much. Especially since I can't drink.
Today is my Hs last day of work before his week off and I am SO excited!
I spoke to my dad on the phone last night and we managed to be civil. He just got my aunt's ashes delivered and is feeling the realness set in. He is having some family up to the cottage on Sunday for dinner so we will be heading up there as well. I haven't seen him since July so I am a bit nervous.

That would drive me crazy too. MIL always has to say "Grammas boOoOOooy!" in a similarly obnoxious way. Itd be one thing if it were the first time she sees him during a visit but it is literally every time she looks at or speaks to him. Give it a rest lady.
Just the idea of her being here for 13 days is putting my stomach in knots. Serious T&Ps to you, lady.
ladytiffany24, you're better than me. If my MIL was in town I would have no problem telling H, "if I'm dealing with her, you're dealing with her. Make your plans for another time!".
AFM, H is only working until noon, then we get the afternoon and all day Saturday together! I'm trying to find plans, but it's raining and gross so we will probably just head to the library kid's room this afternoon (day #3..b/c DD loves it and she will play for hours, letting me sit in peace).
Also, DD is starting to actually use her utensils..which means right now she's sitting at the table w/ greek yogurt covering her face, her hands, her arms, and every part of the spoon. But it's progress!
obi, I'm glad the conversation went alright, and I hope this family weekend is a time for healing and remembrance and love.
Thank you! There will be family there who I absolutely adore and haven't seen in some time, so I am just trying to focus on that. My dad can kick rocks while I hangout with his cousin.
kaits8 C is really into utensils now too. I find that cottage cheese is the tiniest bit less messy than yogurt, fwiw. For yogurt, I give him a spoon and we alternate scoops. This basically allows me to scoop the yogurt he drops and feed it to him in between his attempts, haha.

There are 3 dozen donuts sitting next to my desk right now, so I'm about to enjoy one of those. DH works today/tonight and then goes straight to teaching tomorrow and will be there until 4ish and then works a 24 hour shift Sunday. I plan on doing zero parenting Saturday when he returns.
This time next week I can start buying all the things for the little one!!!!

I tried desperately to get him to change his plans for tonight, but it's one of the guys' birthdays and he felt bad trying to bail. He knows damn well he's not leaving again while she's here!
Also, can I just say how effing annoying it is when she DD, "my babbbyyyyy." Ummm, no. Not your baby. MY baby. Your grandchild.

Happy Friday! I've got a busy Saturday running some errands, DH is having friends over, and then we have dinner plans. Sunday I have to travel for work, which I &*(#)^&(%* hate. I am plotting how to make it up to myself - since I'll have extra hours I may take a half-day on Tuesday and WAH.
My co-worker and I have made a pact that today is the last day we go out to grab a coffee. I forget who mentioned they had also been doing that too often - I've been terrible about it because I also get a second breakfast wherever we go and that plus lunch out is just too much. Need to swap back to drinking all the tea I have at my desk (the free office coffee tastes like burnt rubber).
There was only one egg in my fridge. My breakfast seems incomplete.
This is a travesty. Spoken from the lady who ate 3 dippy eggs for breakfast.
How do you eat your eggs?
I'll eat them just about any way but I need to yolks to be runny, unless they're scrambled. I avoid runny yolks while pregnant though so I am very jelous of your dippy eggs. Eggs benedict is my absolute favourite breakfast. Runny yolks mixing with the hollandaise sauce... YUM.
That's so awkward @justinslovo. I probably wouldn't get the guts to call but I dont think its unreasonable. Especially if you stress that otherwise she was wonderful.

This.. all this! As my husband just said to say ".. oh? Did you have sex with my husband?"
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! It drives me nuts. I wish it didn't, because I sent my mil a pic of the ultrasound from yesterday and I get back "There's our boy!" .. it took all my willpower not to send back. Um.. no, my husband is your "boy" .. this is MY boy.

All the sorries for being stuck with her. MH loves Top Golf!
Just saying that I'd rock a MIL bitchfest. Oh, I've got stories. So many stories.
But today we're doing our gender reveal party, some family friends are in town and so is SIL and my family so we're going to blow some stuff up. We're not doing the all-to-popular tannerite and chalk but we will be using a form of exploding substance. Photos will follow.
