We're thinking about getting a new family vehicle soon, maybe a minivan. Anyone have one they really like and would recommend? I hear good things about the odyssey.
We have an odyssey. I am personally not a minivan person BUT I don't have anything negative to say about it. I liked that in the middle row we were able to move one of the seats from the side to the middle to put LO. I also like that the back row folds into the floor (has been beneficial when traveling). It has a decent amount of space and is comfortable.
ETA: If you guys are more DIY with car repairs the odyssey can sometimes cause problems. I forgot what happened with DHs but it there was a piece he was trying to take out (something that should have been simple) but the way Honda designed it, it was an entire day's job. Not sure what the rest of the parts are like but I do know how angry DH was when he spent an entire day doing something that should have taken 30 minutes.
I have a chevy traverse, this is my second one and I do love it. It drives great, gets good mpg and lots of room for the kids and dog when we travel. When we were ready to trade in the last one we checked out other options; suburbans and minivans, they all were very close in mpg. The biggest thing that turned us away from minivans is the lack of AWD and the suburbans price tag was way to much. Think about what options are important to you, that will help narrow it down.

Thanks! And we're definitely not DIYers when it comes to cars so that wouldn't be a dealbreaker for us.

We recently traded in our Ford Focus for a Toyota Highlander. I love it! Minivan def gives you lots of seating plus storage space but I'm definitely not a minivan person. The highlander has a third row seat so we can fit plenty of people in but then cargo space is limited. We've only had it a month so I can't really talk about long time repairs etc but the ratings on them are great. My mil and SIL have older models and have had no serious issues, GL!

I love my Prius, and I'd keep it even if we had 3 kids. We walk when we can. I'm not going to drive around a big gas-guzzling thing unless there's absolutely a reason I must.
We have a 2004 Grand Caravan which used to be my MIL's (as our family grew larger and my ILs' kids moved out, we swapped our old Corolla with her). We had to have the transmission rebuilt a couple of years ago and spend a decent amount of money on repairs, but for now it's cheaper than buying a new car. DH takes public transportation to work and I don't drive much unless we're going out of town, so mostly we just use it for hauling groceries and crap around and road trips, when the space is really nice. When we do need to buy a new car, we'll probably get an Odyssey, since the people we know who drive them love theirs.

I have a Mazda cx-9 and adore it. It has a third row of seats that fold down so I can haul people or stuff with no problems. It is also all wheel drive so its good for most conditions. We are currently considering changing to a Honda oddessy, for convience with 2 car seats and a teenager and teenager's friends. I'm not on board for the switch.
We are also getting a new car soon. We are between a Toyota Highlander and Toyota 4Runner limited. Both have third row seating, which is a must for us. I am not a minivan mom either, but I do have some friends who have Toyota Sienna's and love them.

I have a Subaru Impreza... I love it right now, but I'm due with baby #2 in June and I know that it's going to be super cramped. We are casually searching for a new vehicle, but I'll be sad to say goodbye to my little, easy to park car.
We have a 2011 Honda Odyssey. I absolutely love it. We only have 2 kids, but it's been so nice to have the extra space for their stuff and our double stroller. We have the third row stowed so we have tons of space. I love having the sliding doors, makes it so much easier to load kids in car seats in parking lots. Whatever you decide, just pay attention to how many tethers it has, that will determine how many forward-facing car seats you can have and where they are located. The Odyssey has 6 (a lot of minivans only have 3) so we can put any car seat in any spot and I liked the flexibility.
