Pretty chill day here, watching TV right now, then have to go take pictures of all my new clothes to put up online, then unpack a few boxes and try getting this house in order!!!! We have lived here 3 months and still are only half unpacked!

I am going to acupuncture soon to see if it helps with my nausea and perhaps keeps true morning sickness at bay. It's not terrible, I just want to see if this helps at all.
Wish me luck. I've got to go bridesmaid dress shopping this morning for a wedding I'm in in the middle of May. (I'll be about 35 weeks). DH and I haven't told anyone I'm pregnant yet and don't plan to until early December. (And I really don't feel comfortable telling a bunch of people before I've had a scan.) So, now I have to figure out how I can either try on maternity dresses without them noticing or try on regular dresses and figure out a way to go back and try on maternity at a later date. (Providing they have maternity in the shop, it looked like most were online only)

That's tough. I know I always felt pressured to get measured and purchase the dress on the spot. Will that be a problem for you do you think?
Celebrating thanksgiving weekend with my parents. I'm Canadian so thanksgiving was a couple of weekends ago, but waiting for BIL to be able to attend. My parents know (they knew about our IVF cycle) so I don't have to worry about anything !

Goodluck! Worse case scenario you can call back as soon as you leave to ask about maternity options (or to cancel your order). I hope it's not too stressful for you

sabrinaml I would think with the wedding being in May you've got plenty of time to figure it out. I'd just play along today and try on regular dresses. Then go back to the store solo and figure out what to do about getting a maternity dress later on. Hope it goes well!

Maybe this doesn't help but one of my bridesmaids found out a few weeks after we bought our dresses that she was pregnant. She ended up calling up the dress shop and crying because she thought I'd be upset and she wasn't going to fit in her dress. They got her a good deal on a extra dress fabric from the same dye lot and she had someone alter it a few weeks before the wedding. It looked great. Could be an option if they choose a dress that doesn't have a maternity option!

Thankfully the bride has already said as long as it's the same fabric and color we can pick whatever dress we want. (All dresses will be long) I will probably just try on regular dresses and play along today. If everyone picks a dress today then I'll go to a closer David's and look at maternity dresses sometime in the next week or two. I'd rather order it now then try and order in December/Jan and find out there isn't enough time for it to come in and to get any alterations.
DD slept until 7 today! Sometimes she's up at 5:30 on the weekends. DH is hunting this morning, so I'm going to take DD shopping for a Halloween costume. Right now she wants to be a cow...
It's cold outside. I've got some work to do today and I've sent MH out for breakfast. We're headed OOT tomorrow, tagging along on MH's work trip, so I also have to pack and clean. It should be a busy day.
Yesterday I took DS to the city (2 hrs away) by myself to do some shopping. It was exhausting so today we are just going to sit at home and do nothing.
And in case you were thinking of assembling IKEA furniture with a 15 month old running around - just wait until nap time. He fell into it before everything was fully attached and two of the wooden dowel things broke. There are no extras and it's in a place that requires them.

I was planning on going to the store to get a Halloween costume, but then I saw that there was a fall festival at the school nearby so I took DS to see the fire truck. Now I'm just hoping DH gets home soon so I can take a nap. I wish we had more trees in the backyard so I could set up my hammock and nap outside since the weather is so nice today...
Today I went to a service event with a group of coworkers. We packed food which is going to Zimbabwe to feed hungry children. At the end of the event the lead employee told a story of a boy who was in the last stage of starvation and brought back to health within 6 months with the food packs they provide. I had to really work to not cry. Hormones are going nuts!
Tonight we have friends coming over for a game night and I hope no one realizes I'm not drinking. My plan is to have ginger beer which I usually mix with rum or bourbon, so it at least smells and looks like a real drink.

Last weekend we were hanging out with friends and I definitely dumped a beer down the drain in the bathroom and filled it with water to make people think I was drinking. 😂
mreve - It's difficult enough to put that stuff together, much less with a toddler underfoot! Major props to you for attempting it!
Is it weird that I actually kind of like putting IKEA furniture together? My H can't stand it, so I do all assembly. I did a dresser by myself a couple months ago with DS stealing hardware all the time, so I guess I got a little overconfident!

I like following directions so I enjoy it more than my H.

Definitely doing this when my MIL spends a few days at our house next week. She is a nosy SOB and always assumes I'm pregnant if I'm not drinking. She will literally tell everyone if she figures it out. I'm very ragey about it
ETA that when we decide to share our news I will let her know it was a decoy, as she wouldn't realize that and secretly judge me for drinking while pregnant, then bring it up eventually with a "I shouldn't say this, but I will..."

It worked out well! I told one of my friends who was with us then today and she commended me on my sneakiness, haha.

What did you think? I started going to help get pregnant and manage my migraines. I'm staying through 1st tri and we're working to manage my HG. It worked to get rid of my migraine meds, and I'm pretty sure it helped me get pregnant both times. However, it doesn't seem to be helping the HG:(. I even have needles that stay in certain points until my next appointment. I'm desperate.
As for my day, we had ballet for DD this morning. Then I napped and went to acupuncture because puking sucks balls. My parents came up to hang with DD, and we watched the Cubs game. We've been pretty chill. Go Cubs Go🎉⚾️🎉

Wow, your MIL sounds fantastic. Why do people have to be so up in everyone's business?
I think I fooled everyone except the friend we're going to tell when we hang out next weekend since it will just be four of us and extremely obvious.

I'm sorry you have HG. My morning sickness is definitely not that bad. I did acupuncture for my frozen embryo transfer (this pregnancy) and it was my only success in a year of IF treatment so I of course think acupuncture is the reason we were successful. As for my appt yesterday, I fell asleep for the first time so that was nice lol. I don't know that it helped much. I have seen that it requires more than weekly appts though for more serious nausea. I bought SeaBands yesterday and those seem to be helping a lot so far.

marshian MIL just has no boundaries. Very needy. She's not a bad person it's just too much. Luckily it's really driving DH bonkers lately so I let him deal with it

I hope your H handles it and things get better. I'm lucky in that my MIL isn't extremely nosy, but she does make comments about anything and everything whenever she feels like it. This is not the first grandchild (thankfully H's sister blazed the trail for us), but I have a feeling we'll still get plenty of unsolicited input.

Oh yeah... I hear ya about the comments. DS is the first grandchild for her. I'm hoping that with this second one she won't be as up my ass! It's the worst. She feels the need to parent. Lady, this isn't your son, we've got it covered.
