Hi all! It's hard for me to participate on TCF right now, but I want to contribute something so you know I'm thinking of you.
Do you have any dream mother's jewelry pieces? Do you own any you want to show off?
My dad bought my grandmother a ring with her four sons' birthstones in it set flush in a simple band, and it always makes me sad to think how it was lost in the hospital upon her death. She had a bad relationship with my grandfather and after his death always wore that ring in place of a wedding band.
My fingers are too fat for my normal sized rings, but I've been thinking about how it would be nice to get or make a necklace with something for H and Bud when I leave. It would be comforting to fondle a couple charms or something when I'm missing them.

DH had a necklace made for me for Mother's Day this year. It's got both of my kids' birthstones in it and the heart is shaped almost exactly like a tattoo I have on my foot. I love it so much! This isn't the best pic of it, but you can see it.

I'd really like a white gold ring with their birthstones on it. Maybe a small necklace. My mum has bought me a necklace and a bracelet with all those charms you out in them. I have never worn either. The only jewelry I wear I pretty much never take off, so needs to be small and go with everything. While I know she was being thoughtful I likely will never wear them. They aren't my style and I had told her before that I didn't want one.

I have stackable mother's rings. A pearl for DS1 and a sapphire for DS2. I haven't ordered one for K yet... maybe as a Christmas gift. Some day I would like a ring with all 3 stones in it. This could be tricky because I want a pearl for June, not Alexandrite. Pearl is hard to align with sapphire and aquamarine.

It's a beautiful necklace, but I am actually more jealous of your elegant fingers. Mine are sausages now.

I guess I'm going to wait on this. There are nice necklaces, but I keep looking longingly at some of the stackable rings on etsy. I guess I'll have to wait and lose some weight first, then get some. In the meantime, I have an old locket I can put some pictures in. Not a fan of the locket, NMS, but I guess I shouldn't spend the money now anyway, and it works just as well.

These are my stackable rings. I got them from Olive Bungalow. Each band is a different design and the ring is engraved on the inside with each boy's name and birth date.
Star's birthstone is diamond, and it's just not my favorite. So I'm actually thinking of having a piece, a ring or a pendant, of breastmilk jewelry made. FFSC?
Sentimental! I can see the appeal, but I also might be a little squicked out if we were vague acquaintances or co-workers and I knew and you wore it publicly. But it wouldn't bother me if we were close friends and I knew. Is that weird? Making the jewelry is no interest of mine, that's for sure. I have thought about putting a little of Bud's hair in the locket.

I really like the idea of this. I told H and I might as well have told him I plan to wear a neon sign announcing I breastfed because he was so squicked out about it.

I'm afraid to ask, but exactly what is breastmilk jewelry?

huh. That doesn't scream "THIS IS MADE OF BREASTMILK" to me. They look really pretty. I probably wouldn't go announcing it though. lol.
Exactly.
Like I can get why people would be wigged out about it. It's a bodily fluid and therefore has a certain degree of squickyness to it. If you made a ring out of your blood you wouldn't be all like "look at my blood ring!"
But I really shouldn't talk because I had my cat's DNA immortalized as a pendant.
