- How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples? 4 weeks old, gg
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? We have their 1 month appointment today. The girls should get their first shots.
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on? I'm thinking ahead to Thanksgiving. We normally drive about 6 hours to spend a few days at my grandma's for the holiday. We weren't going to go this year, but I'm starting to wonder if we could go after all. For those that have traveled that far and stayed at a hotel, how was it? The twins will be 2 months old and we also have a 4 year old.
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc? I'm now EBF. When did you stop waking them every 3 hours to eat? Also, I'm going to be in a wedding soon. I'll probably be away from the babies for most of the day and have to pump. I don't know how much BM the girls will take in a bottle. Any idea? They'll be 7 weeks.
- QOTW: Since the countdown to Halloween is on, what traditions do you have in conjunction with the holiday? Bonus points for pics of said traditions and/or pics of your multiples in their Halloween costumes. We don't have any Halloween traditions, although we often take DD1 to a local church for trunk or treat. The twins are going to wear some pumpkin onesies that my mom purchased.
- No appointments for kids. I have an OB checkup tomorrow for twins#2. We suspect both kids are working on molars because R is a drooly mess (soaks the front of his shirt) and G is having watery diapers and a runny nose (though that could be a slight cold).
- When did you start a tooth cleaning routine with your LOs and what was it?
- When should kids move away from purees?
- QOTW: We have no traditions for Halloween. This year we're visiting my brother for a trunk and treat at a local church. R will be a dragon and G will be a pumpkin because they're the best inexpensive costumes I could find at the consignment shop. (I'm still proud of myself for that :-P )
dke2010, I didn't travel with the twins until they were closer to a year old and it was for a two hour trip. It was fine. We did take a 3.5 hour trip when #3 was 6 mo and it was terrible. He cried in his seat for the last hour of the trip an by the time we got there I was so over it. Add in all the inconveniences if not having all of our stuff and being in a hotel etc, I would not go. I have no patience traveling with kids though.
As for in a bottle I would definitely start giving some now so they can get used to it when you are away. Mine were taking 4 ounces in a bottle by two months but there's a bit of trial and error.
We fed every three hours for a long time. Partly cause they woke up and cried so we fed and partly because they were tiny and I wanted to give them every opportunity for more calories. I may not be the best person to give advice on this topic.
nomnom, we slowed with the purées right around a year. Daycare was giving them table food in the 12-18 month class so we went with it. We did pouches for snacks or when on the go.
We didn't start a teeth cleaning routine until 18 months or so with our twins but the baby started earlier due to monkey see monkey do. We did non-fluoride tooth paste and quick brushes to start with. I wasn't very strict about it. The baby has been in a I do it phase so if he swipes the toothbrush over his teeth a couple times I call it good. He's starting to get better at letting me help brush now at almost three. Around 2.5 we switched to fluoride toothpaste due to dentist recommendations. We didn't start going to the dentist for check ups until 2-2.5 years old. We go to a pediatric dentist now.
- How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples? 5 years old, b/g
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? Kindergarten has been going great for them. They are thriving in their separate classes and I'm so glad I went through with that. They go to Sunday school together and this weekend, their Sunday school teacher told me to woo with DD to not "mother" DS so much. He depends on her telling him what to do too much.
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on?
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc? No issues here
- QOTW: Since the countdown to Halloween is on, what traditions do you have in conjunction with the holiday? Bonus points for pics of said traditions and/or pics of your multiples in their Halloween costumes.[ No traditions except to dress up as and trick or treat down the street. Past years we've managed to keep it to just our street. Hopefully the kids won't push to go to more houses this year. They will be dressing up a Elsa, Olaf, and baby Olaf.
@feegan Did you use regular toddler brushes? It seems like they'd chew off the bristles. Master R still has issues chewing before he swallows. He has eight teeth and possibly more on the way, but just doesn't use them.
dke2010, call your pediatrician and ask them when to stop. Ours forgot to tell us. If they were close to full term and are gaining we'll, I would bet you could stop but really that is very much a question for the pedi. We took the twins on a 5hr drive around 8 weeks. It took closer to 7hrs each way. They were eating every 3hrs and MH is a putz so he took forever to get out the door and we had to make 2 stops, about an hour a piece. Your best bet is to have everything packed and ready to go, do their last feed before "bedtime" and leave quickly. We put them in diapers a size larger and drove until they woke up hungry. It's not bad but it does take longer.

- How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples? 13.5 month old ID girls
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? Going mostly well, I feel like their moods are bipolar lately - either the happiest or the saddest (and usually sadness is for no discernable reason). I think that's age appropriate. L is walking everywhere but can't climb and M is climbing everything but can't walk. Neither of them have any words yet Doc appt at 15 months.
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on? I'm irrationally worried about the no words thing.
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc? Nope - QOTW: Since the countdown to Halloween is on, what traditions do you have in conjunction with the holiday? Bonus points for pics of said traditions and/or pics of your multiples in their Halloween costumes. We're still working on forming traditions. We're doing a family costume this year, the twins will be Thing 1&2, DD1 will be Cat in the Hat, and H & I will be Nick & Sally.

- How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples? Bg, 4 months
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? Just had their 4 month appoint, growing great, no concerns, just want them to start sleeping better!
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on? I'm sure I do just can't remember anything
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc? Gosh, can't wait to start feeding them solids in a few months!
- QOTW: Since the countdown to Halloween is on, what traditions do you have in conjunction with the holiday? Bonus points for pics of said traditions and/or pics of your multiples in their Halloween costumes. My daughter is going as a watermelon, wearing the same costume I wore, my sisters wore and my oldest daughter wore one year maybe we'll do a whole themed costume with all 6 of us, but not this year!
We did A 14 hour car ride when my twins were 3 months (plus a 2 year old and 3.5 year old). I'd say it's totally possible, you'll just need to factor in time for nursing on the drive. Just lower your expectations for the whole trip
- No appointments until their 2 month appointment in December.
- We're battling our first diaper rash, and I'm pretty positive Z is going to have super sensitive skin like me. Our best guess is that she's super sensitive to the wipes we changed to.
- Any suggestions to increase my supply? I'm pumping (had to cut something out of the feeding routine) and only getting 6-8 ounces a day.
- QOTW: we got two different outfits for them. Z has one that says something about putting a spell on daddy and W has a skeleton outfit. They also have cute matching "my first Halloween" outfits. We don't have any traditions yet. Hopefully we'll start some soon.
- How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples? BB 18mos
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? It is going crazy, they are almost done with teething. It's been a rough 3 mos.
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on?
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc?
Nope
- QOTW: Since the countdown to Halloween is on, what traditions do you have in conjunction with the holiday? Bonus points for pics of said traditions and/or pics of your multiples in their Halloween costumes.
No traditions for Halloween here. The boys will be mario and Luigi lol. Still don't know what we are doing for Halloween though.
How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples? 3 months today, B/G - How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? Had our 3 month appointment today. They got needles. But I didn't cry surprisingly. I thought they were teething but the dr shut thst down. J swear there was a small corner of a tooth on baby boy for a few days now. And now its gone. Maybe a blister?? It was white and everything. Oh well. Baby girl now has to go to the physiotherapist too. Not sure how kuch it is helping baby boy but oh well does not hurt I guess.
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on? Tell me I am not crazy to think the babies cpuld be teething? They are cranky, clingy and drooly. At the same time if they are not then thats fine. My babies can stay babies for as long as they want.
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc? Not really, we are changing their formula from HA to normal so maybe next week I will have some on how its going. We want to go really slow on this.
- QOTW: Since the countdown to Halloween is on, what traditions do you have in conjunction with the holiday? Bonus points for pics of said traditions and/or pics of your multiples in their Halloween costumes.
Halloween is not a big deal here (germany) its just starting to come over. Needless to say we have no traditions or costumes for the babies. I saw the cutest little gnome costumes, but since we wont be having a party to go to it was a waste of money. But so cute. When the babies get bigget we will likely host a Halloween party or something.

piccyami, my babies were sensitive to wipes to and my mid wife suggested making ones with just baby oil and soft toilet paper. I have been using them now always at home and juat use normal wipes when we are out. I like them. Their bums still get red sometimes but not as bad as it was.
dke2010, we just got back from a weekend at the ILs. Its a 3 hour trip. We just stopped halfway for a car seat break and food. My babies are good in the car and slept most the way. No advice on hotels though.

piccyami what type of wipes did you change to? What were you using before that, did you have issue's with those?? Have you thought of using bath and body care products for babies that are botanically based. So none of the harsh chemicals and products in most things nw a days  . Let me know if you'd like more info on a product. The baby line has diaper rash cream, body wash/shampoo, lotion and sunscreen.

Woah twins #2? That is awesome and scary lol.
My boys are 18mos and we just now started to stop slacking with the brushing teeth routine. I give them their tooth brush and brush my teeth so they see "Mommy does it" and get them used to it *they love it*. Then when I am done w my teeth I do theirs whike holding their hand. They don't cooperate all the time but I'm trying to just get them used to it all.

We originally switched to Huggies. The hospital originally gave us pampers sensitive and we're using those again. We may end up using cloth wipes to just make things easier. She's just now big enough for our newborn cloth diapers.
Thanks for your responses. Everything went great at the peds. Both girls had gained about a pound in 11 days, so the doctor was thrilled. I can stop waking at night, meaning I get an extra 1/2 hour of sleep between feeds. Yay! Not sure what we'll do about traveling for Thanksgiving. It's doable but I don't know if DH is up for it. If we go, there's a nearby hotel where all the rooms are suites. It would allow us to put our big kid in her own room so we all get more sleep.
dke2010 we have lots of travel coming up so I say if you want to go just do it! The girls might surprise you. We traveled 6 hours by car with our girls at 5 weeks and DD1 was 21 months and they did wonderful! We left at 5pm and only stopped once. I did bring my hand pump and pump a bottle just in case but we didn't need it. We're doing it again tomorrow (they'll be 2 months) so hopefully it goes just as well.
I have a wedding on Saturday too and I plan on leaving frozen BM (I've been pumping once a day after their early morning feed since 5 weeks) 1 ounce per hour that we'll be gone+Enounh for 1 extra bottle. Our girls have only had a bottle once in their two months and E took it no problems and A eventually did after chewing the nipple a bit.
- How old/combo (gg/bb/bg/etc) are your multiples? 2 months GG
- How's it going, any upcoming Dr Appts or milestones you'd like to discuss? We had their 2 Month today. It went well. They are staying in their 30th% curve perfectly. Both weight right around 10.5 pounds (born at 5lb 10oz and 6lb 4oz). E has an umbilical hernia that should resolve by her first birthday but other than that they are well.
- Do you have any questions or concerns that you'd like advice on? I don't think so just yet. I feel like we're just chugging along.
- Any feeding specific questions regarding nursing, FF, solids, weaning, etc? Still EBF. We hit my next goal of 2 months now looking ahead to 6 months! I EP'ed with DD1 after about 4 weeks of struggling so it feels good to make it this far.
- QOTW: Since the countdown to Halloween is on, what traditions do you have in conjunction with the holiday? Bonus points for pics of said traditions and/or pics of your multiples in their Halloween costumes. No real traditions. Our town does a huge Halloween parade so we'll do that then just hand out candy. The babies will just be wearing their skeleton pajamas.

Oh yea I'm not really a fan of huggies. I think one of my boys got a little rash before from the huggies wipes. We just stick pampers. I don't like how easily huggies rip bc I am never gentle with pulling them out the container.

My kids have crazy sensitive skin- we've had great results with Kirkland wipes. Bonus, if they react you can return them, no questions asked
ETA, until recently we've not been able to use anything but seventh generation disposable diapers. We can get away with cheaper ones in the morning when they go through them more quickly, but overnights and later in the day we have to use the seventh gen ones (mine poop like crazy in the morning, we change them 3-4 times before their first nap)
