How old is baby? 7.5+ months How many times nursing? Solids? NOD and solids 1x per day sometimes with bites here and there if I'm eating. How is Bfing/pumping going? Great! Would love to drop a night feeding but I'm guessing who wouldn't! Questions/rants/raves I feel like since LO has really started getting active and crawling and climbing in the past month her naps have increased. She was consistently doing 2 a day but is back up to 3 and just seems exhausted!
GTKY: what's your bf goal? I don't have a goal per se. Definitely we better make it to a year bc LO won't take a bottle. I don't really see that as being an issue/in question at this point, though I suppose anything could happen. I want to go awhile longer. I would love to make it to 2, but I think it will depend on when we wanna have siblings how I feel when pregnant, etc. Just plan to take it as it comes. H is really supportive of extended nursing which I think helps makes things easier
wittyandwaiting we're 11mo and we're still up 1-2x. We went through a growth spurt around 9-10mo and that was brutal. Back up to 4x.
How old is baby? We are 11mo tomorrow!! How many times nursing? Solids? We nurse 4-6x. Solids all day but we don't like to eat at breakfast time. How is Bfing/pumping going? I'm over pumping. It's becoming harder to find time at work because a co worker left and she's not being backfilled. I protect my pump time as much as I can but it's hard. We're going to try to get to 1 pump by her birthday. Questions/rants/raves I'm really looking forward to extended nursing!
GTKY: what's your bf goal? Our goal has always been 1 year and we are one month away!!! After that I don't want to put a # on it because I'll be happy with however we continue.

westiemom We started solids twice a day after our 6-mo appointment. We’d been doing once a day since about 5.5 months, based on her early interest. Our pedi wanted us at 3 meals by 9 months, though I assume that advice varies. (We got there by 7.5 months, again, based on interest.)
wittyandwaiting At 7 months my LO was probably still nursing 3-4 times/night. (But we bedshare.)
How old is baby? A year tomorrow!! This is our last checkin in this thread
How many times nursing? Solids? Solids 3 meals and 2 snacks. Nurses a.m., to nap or comfort when I’m home, after work, bedtime, and maybe twice overnight (bedsharing). She takes 6 oz. BM in a straw cup when I’m at work.
How is Bfing/pumping going? Well. I’m working down to one pump/day by later this week. Will continue that for a while, probably.
Questions/rants/raves We made it to a year!!! Those first ~4-6 weeks were so hard, I was sure I’d end up EPing for a few months then giving up. I’m so glad we pushed through and had a supportive, knowledgeable LC.
GTKY: what's your bf goal? We have a decent mix of almost 1yo and 6-7mos here I will probably let her self-wean. Having said that, I do look forward to getting my body back. I’ll probably try to start running more seriously soonish, so between pumping once and that, we’ll see what it means for NOD supply.
How old is baby? 8 months yesterday! How many times nursing? Solids? NOD. Solids twice per day How is Bfing/pumping going? Bf is good. Questions/rants/raves
GTKY: what's your bf goal? We have a decent mix of almost 1yo and 6-7mos here. My goal is to go at least a year. I'm not opposed to going beyond that.

kelltothekell, When getting more into finger foods, my LO loved black beans, as well as small pieces of meatball. Anything that wasn't too slippery to hold, really. Green beans can also be good.
How many times nursing? Solids? I don't really know, I NOD and I'd say it's between 6-9 times in a 24 hour period. She doesn't comfort nurse at all and she usually nurses 1 or 2 times a night. She eats about 3-4 ounces of solids a day. She eats about 2 ounces with some cereal mixed into it in the morning and about 1 ounce with cereal in the late afternoon.
How is Bfing/pumping going? She pinches me so much and pulls away constantly. I can't understand what she's doing but I'm trying to get her to stop because I'm terrified of what she's doing when she pops teeth.
GTKY: what's your bf goal? I BFd DD1 until she was 18 months old. Her exact 18 month date and it made me so sad to be done! I'm hoping to make it to at least as long but she's always seemed far less interested in nursing than DD1.
How old? 10.5 months How much solid/nursing? NOD together. So many times over night. Doing pretty well with solids. A snack in the morning, 3 pouches of food plus 13 oz of milk at daycare, and dinner. I need to start sending more finger foods to daycare. This seems like a lot of food, but she is on the small side. How is BFing going? Good days and bad days of pumping. On weekend she tends to be distracted so I try to pump and help get ahead for the week. I have less than 50 oz in the freezer, so I am trying not to use it. Rants: Just can't wait til she is sleeping better and starts tolerating a wider array of food! I may be forced to pump longer than I want if we can't find a decent milk replacement for her. GTKY: I BF her older sister until a little past 2, so I guess that is what I am planning to do for her too.
How old is baby? 10.75 months How many times nursing? Solids? We NOD when I'm home, around 4-6x a day. When I'm at work he takes about 12-13oz between a bottle & a straw cup. MOTN he usually wakes up 1-2x and depending on the time, he'll get a small bottle from MH (1-2oz) and/or I'll nurse. Solids 2-3x day. How is Bfing/pumping going? It's going well, except he is tearing me up with his teeth right now, and also wanting to nurse a ton (this usually happens when he's getting new teeth, which I think he is). I have blisters and it is so painful. Questions/rants/raves
GTKY: what's your bf goal? I keep upping it, now I think 18-24 mon, but will follow his lead.
westiemom, we moved up to 2x/day around 7-8 months on advice of the pediatrician as his weight gain had slowed a bit and he slipped a few percentiles.
wittyandwaiting, C is up anywhere from 1-6x a night but he only eats 1-2x a night, the other times he's able either put himself back to sleep or be rocked w/o feeding. I usually only bf once overnight (MH gives a bottle the other time). I used to bf more but we've been in this pattern for a few months now.
Congrats on a year, bluefairy5, and HBD to your LO!
kelltothekell, in addition to cut up fruit, we've done bits of toast (plain, or with butter or peanut butter), beans, cheese, scrambled egg, puffs, and really just little bits of whatever we're having (like last night - we had pork roast - I cut up little bite sized pieces for C and he'd just pick them up and pop them in his mouth).
wittyandwaiting yes. And she has had BM in a sippy too, but will only take an ounce or so not a full feeding. We've gone out a few times after she is asleep other than that I've kinda given up.
WOOHOO bluefairy5! I remember you from newborn check ins. Hard to believe it went by so fast!
wittyandwaiting, my guy was up 2x/night till like 7-8 months and 1x/night till 15 months. He's always had a pretty fast metabolism though.
kelltothekell, we did BLW, so I feel like all foods are finger foods. Just cut em up small. We liked roasted brussels sprouts quartered, chunks of roasted beets, pieces of cheese, small chunks of chicken or hamburger, beans, cheerios for something quick and easy.

It went by SO fast and I give this board and you knowledgeable regs here SO much credit for us being able to get here. No joke.
westiemom she eats 3 times a day, but mostly because she insists on eating when anyone else is eating so she eats with her brother. wittyandwaiting she is up between 2 and 4 times a night. We room share, but she's in a pack and play. I want to move her to her own room and think she would be better about settling herself back down, but she will have to share with her brother so not moving until she's sleeping better. I feel like it's kind of a catch-22. kelltothekell we do egg (hard boiled or scrambled), toast with applesauce on it, tiny pieces of chicken, chunks of cucumber, French toast, pretty much whatever we are eating, just small. How old is baby? 8 months next week How many times nursing? Solids? NOD, probably 7-8 times a day and 2-4 overnight. Solids at all mealtimes. How is Bfing/pumping going? Fine. I have a feeling my period is right around the corner again. I'm a little sore and my supply has dipped a bit. Questions/rants/raves: breastmilk to the rescue! I took some frozen milk bags to donate to another baby to a baby wearing meetup we were both attending. When I first got there a little boy from our group picked up a bee and it stung him. He was freaking out and I gave his mom one of my frozen milk bags as an ice pack. He was cured in like 30 seconds and the bag went back in the cooler. It helped in more ways than one that day!
GTKY: what's your bf goal? We have a decent mix of almost 1yo and 6-7mos here. My goal is one year. And I'd really like to be done then. I've been on fertility meds, pregnant, or nursing for going on 5 years now. I'm ready to have my body back to myself. I'm counting down the months.
How old is baby? 1 year on Monday!! Last check in here for me. How many times nursing? Solids? about 4-5x nursing (plus 2 bottles while I'm working). 3 meals of solids, plus a few snack times. How is Bfing/pumping going? Fine, but for some reason my nips have been SO SENSITIVE for the past week or so. Almost as bad as when I was pregnant and nursing DS1 (I am not preg, took a test to be sure). I'm thinking it is because I am ovulating or finally getting my period back soon. Hormones and such. Questions/rants/raves Just the super sensitive nips are annoying.
GTKY: what's your bf goal? We have a decent mix of almost 1yo and 6-7mos here No specific goal, just gonna keep going until I feel that there is a reason to stop. DS1 nursed until he was 3+ years, so that's a possibility again I guess.
@ismellbooks stuff like that always rubs me the wrong way! Wasn't feminism supposed to be about choice? Not just about feeding issues, but why does the whole world get to have an opinion about how I run my life. I feel like I am constantly having to defend my work situation/decisions to people. If I choose not to work (and am finically able) why isn't that ok? Or why is my job not "real" if I WFH. I do work, PT, but anytime I talk about fully SAH or when I was making the decision I got so much crap about "giving up my career" and I still do. People ask me all the time don't you feel like your sacrificing your career by working PT or from hometown by not traveling anymore (I used to travel a lot for work before LO was born)? Or ppl say you are never going to get a promotion like this. I'm like so what? That's not my priority right now and ppl don't seem to grasp that that is a valid choice.
Congrats to bluefairy5 and shadylady to getting to one year! And happy birthday to your LOs 🎉
I'm right behind you. My C is turning 1 next weekend. I can't believe it. I'm having a lot of feels about that and BFing.
Happy almost-bday to your LO! Lots of feels to have, for sure. Do you think you're going to continue BF or wean? Or are the feels around uncertainty?
I know I officially don't go here anymore, but had to pipe up that the idea that BF is antifeminist is riiiidiiiicuuuulouuuuus. (Giving people grief for FF would be antifeminist. But so is giving people grief for BF!)

I think that is what I am struggling with - if I would like to continue or not. Part of me wants my freedom and to be done with it, but he is also going to be our last baby, so that other part of me wants to hold onto it a bit longer.
I would definitely like to be off the pump, so have been working my way down to once/day and hopefully soon, no pumping altogether.
