I'm just tired. That's all. Everyone at my firm is supposedly going out to lunch today as a farewell to someone who is leaving, but I'm not sure what time and I'm already starving lol. I feel like if I get up to get a snack then people will be ready to leave in 10 minutes.

littlelion I just saw your comment from yesterday about making a calendar from my AWs and it made me giggle. It'd be a good Xmas gift for DH, but I sooooo do not have time to be messing with that this year! I'm too picky when it comes to that type of stuff. DH and I are on better footing after I went to my sister's this weekend. He really is trying (and sometimes succeeding, even!) at being my rock during this crazy school/work phase I'm in, so I need to just open my eyes and realize what a good thing I have. Sure, he's a damn pest sometimes, and can be even a drama king and ass hat, but I guess I'll keep him. I have a mountain of work but I don't even wannaaaaaaa
dashook I vote you get both snacks AND lunch! ourcrazynavylife glad your LLR party went well! Good luck with your midterm. littlelion yay for a good appt! Are you doing weekly NSTs? laceysbryan we did a calendar last year on Shutterfly and it didn't take too long... as long as you don't fuck it up and do it for the wrong year and have to make a completely new one from scratch. Womp womp. Lol Glad things are getting back on track with YH!
Pretty low key day. I took lo to play at the park. We made some Halloween cards to mail to the grandparents and I've even got dinner in the crockpot already.

ashlantic, yes, I am getting weekly NST and weekly ultrasounds. My cw asked me this morning if everything went well and I said if I show up to work then yep, all is well.
Also, I saw a recipe for a turkey breast in the crockpot. Have you tried something like that? I can't decide if I want to try now or perhaps wait until maternity leave.

Ugh. I have a headache and Em is so pissy. She's going through this phase where she wants to be picked up and held all the time and if you say no it's meltdown city. But it kills my belly and my boobs to hold her longer than half a second.

Originally my plan was to work up until I deliver, but this pregnancy has been a lot more physically taxing than my last one was, so now I'm thinking I might go out the week before my EDD (so, last day would be 11/11), and maybe WFH a few days between now and then. The problem with WFH is that now that DS is home with a nanny (as opposed to in DC), it's a lot harder to get anything done!
I am going to be using my crockpot like it's going out of style during mat leave!
Before lo was born we cooked some extra large meals for dinner, portioned them off and froze them. It was a lifesaver in those early days. And +1 to the crockpot too!!
littlelion I've never tried turkey in the crockpot. I'm intrigued! We do pork tenderloin a lot, soup, chicken, mac n cheese. When I taught we always made crockpot applesauce with the kids in the fall. I should do that for home, too.
I'm going nuts! LO is going through, God I hope it's a phase, where she comes up to you, counts to 3 and then hits you! She doesn't understand no, laughs at you, and keeps doing it! We have no idea where she picked it up, who taught her, but it's driving me bonkers! I'm tired of her hitting me all afternoon, and then laughing afterwards. I'm attempting a time out in her crib. She's not crying and probably playing, but it gives me a few minutes to calm down.
Also, LOVE my crock pot and my cast iron dutch ovens (I have 3? or 4?). I would make big batches of soups and freeze the leftovers. It was my favorite thing.
raven lo had a hitting phase a little while ago and when he did hit, it was an automatic time out. We also read a book about not hitting. He's starting to do it again, so we might have to bust that book out again. Hang in there, hitting is so frustrating! littlelion at least Leo wasn't IN the bath when he pooped.
Hello J15ers, (as she walks nervously into the room) but really I have been lurking just not having the time to post. littlelion I wanted to say that we cook turkey breast in the crock pot all the time. I just add a little water and some chicken stock and salt and pepper.
I will try to catch up and tag everyone tomorrow, but just wanted to come in and say hi and I will try to be a better J15er.

That sounds really simple! How long do you cook it for? On low or high?
