It's been a good morning so far. We slept in an extra 30 min but still managed to get to work semi reasonable time. Here is Leo at DC. Sports day! Surprisingly, no cubs tshirt...my BIL is a big cubs fan. And more surprisingly, all the kids at dc had bears jerseys too.
I'm playing hooky today. We had parent teacher interviews last night so I didn't get home until 930, ate dinner at 10, went to bed at 11 and LO woke up crying at 12, 2 and 5 which I'm not used to anymore. Was such a miserable zombie this morning that I called in sick and just had a 3 hour nap. Don't tell on me

I have 2 pumpkins, small and reg. I fixed up the small one to be a bat and the reg one is supposed to be a pirate. & I made a little decorative sign. I'm all crafted out.
No invites to parties as of yet. Taking leo to tot the neighbors house so he can show off his costume.
nemomof2 curious to know if you're making costumes this year?
We've got our pumpkins out, but not carved yet. We'll do it this weekend. No need to buy candy because our neighborhood is a ghost town for Halloween (no pun intended.) The most kids we ever had show up was 3. We'll take lo to my parents' subdivision for ToT. Fx lo doesn't cry at every house like he did last year. Lol
We have 1 out of the 3 pumpkins carved I will probably talk DH into doing the on Sunday. We aren't ever at home for ToT so I won't buy candy this year. Other then that no big plans today except to finish Halloween costumes. LO is going to be pooh and I am done with that. I 100% made his and I think it turned out well. DD wants to be a rainbow witch (?) Whatever that means so I am finishing up here tulle ball gown and then I have no idea. DH is going to be Coors Light Man, so just a silver cape with the Coors light logo on it, since he has 2 Halloween gigs this weekend. Me I am going to be a tired pregnant lady that wants a little break from sewing. He is an AW of LO costume that I will get pictures of him in later.
Greaaaat. The lawn crew for our neighborhood showed up right at naptime, so of course lo is rolling around in his crib shouting "lawnmower!" instead of actually sleeping.

megpie5 rough night, excellent reason to stay home! any other fun plans today?
Not really "fun", but more so mom fun lol. I just organized all of F's clothing and shoes. My MIL is out of control and we get so many hand me downs so my house is bursting. Donating two garbage bags of clothes to a local shelter and offering up snow suits and shoes (she has 30 pairs in size 6 alone!) to my mom friends. I feel accomplished

Sounds like fun to me! My CW has a 13 yo and saved a lot of his stuff...toys, books, clothes, everything. I can't imagine holding on for so long. Maybe a couple special outfits but that's about it. I still need to scale down the toys (done this once already). Even though most are good condition for Leo and baby, it's too much. I still have a bag of toys sitting in my car trunk the last 4 months because I can't handle bringing more into the house.

I have 2 huge totes full of toys in the basement that I haven't even attempted to get out because of this. Next on my list is to clean out toys before the marathon of Christmas/birthdays/ new big sibling gift giving starts. We found a really awesome deal on a train/ activity table for the kids for Christmas so we want to get rid a lot of their other smaller stuff before then.

Whenever LO goes to my parent's house, all she has is hand me down toys. She has a FP barn set, with the little people, chicken, cow, and horse that was my dad's when he was a kid. It still makes the "MOO" sound when you open the barn doors!
My parents didn't throw a thing away. (They still have old school work of mine. I'm talking elementary school.) My mom is a self proclaimed hoarder, but is seriously working on it daily. My maternal grandmother was the worst. She passed away in 1999, and I remember finding boxed cake mix that expired in 1974 in her pantry. It runs in the family.
This week, I'm taking care of my cat over at my parent's house while they are away. LO and I spent the morning there. My kitty has separation anxiety and stops cleaning himself, so I thought some quality time would do him good. Unfortunately, he and LO do not get along, but that's too bad for him. They have to get used to each other. As soon as we buy a house, he moves in with us.
Speaking of which, I think we're going to pass on the house. The owner won't fix a window that has rotten wood underneath it. It's clearly dry rot, but we don't know how bad until a handyman gets in there. Our realtor says it could be an easy fix, and we're wondering if it's so easy, why won't he? We think there's a bigger issue going on. DH says it's my decision overall, and my gut does not feel good. I have until midnight to figure this out. Adulting is hard.
Making pineapple shrimp with cilantro lime rice and pull apart garlic bread for dinner. If I remember, I'll post a picture. ourcrazynavylife inspires me lol
