Good morning ladies! Sitting here drinking my coffee while lo runs around playing. I love listening to him talk to himself while he plays. He's learning so many new words lately. Not too much planned today. I need to go to Costco this morning, schedule both a flu shot and a haircut for lo (this kid's hair grows like a weed!) and clean up the toys that toys that are threatening to take over the house. Tonight we'll trick or treat at my parents' subdivision. I've already got a easy prep meal lined up so we can eat and run.

My tapatalk is acting up again.
ashlantic, Leo is learning more words and trying to use them, but sometimes I have no clue what he is saying. I recently figured out he's been talking about a new school friend named Colton...sounds nothing like that.
ourcrazynavylife, what is the family costume? Are you going to a party or TOT'ing as a family?

littlelion we're going as characters from Despicable Me. Em's going to be Edith. I'm going to be a minion and DH will be Gru. We're just TOT'ing to a couple neighbors houses then coming back to pass out candy at our house.

Yesterday was my bday. DH took a day off his 2nd job to spend the day with us. No big plans, lunch out at Portillos and then just relaxing at home. We watched Finding Dory...I think I love that more than Finding Nemo! It made me cry a couple times. And Leo liked it too, so now I am excited for the day we take him to the aquarium.
Only drawback yesterday was Leo and DH had a hard time adjusting to each other. It's been almost 2 weeks since they've had so much time together. Leo didn't want DH, just me (not liking dh touching me either). And DH was super frustrated with Leo. Leo wants to do everything on his own, walking down the stairs, locking the doors, buckling his car seat, etc. And dh wants him to hold his hand and hurry up, if he doesn't, he carries him around. A lot of tears in the afternoon when we went out to lunch. By the end of the evening they were best buddies though.
Leo is a handful. He requires so much patience these days. Hard in the morning when I need to leave the house asap. He threw a fit this morning when someone opened the door at DC for us. Would not enter. I had to close the door, lift him up and let him ring the doorbell.
ourcrazynavylife can't wait to see the costumes! We did Despicable Me one year before lo was around. Dh likes Halloween costumes that work with his bald head. littlelion happy birthday yesterday!

I made DH chop onions for me yesterday and it made his eyes water so bad. Em saw him and DH jokingly said daddy's crying. Well she started bawling and was so upset. It was kinda funny.
Grrr. Lo is in a phase where he throws his plate on the floor and yells "Done!" at the end of mealtime. It's making me crazy.
We went through that here. LO just grew out of it. I even switched to the bowls that suction to the table. She's too strong and rips the bowl off. Now she hands it to me nicely. Hope your LO passes through that phase quickly.
Nothing going on here. We did have an Imagination Station (activities for kids 5 and under put together by the city.) to go to this morning at our local dinky airport, but I have no vehicle. FIL did ask me if I wanted to use his truck, but it was 10 minutes after the activity started. We never would have made it on time. I wanted to go; even I have never been to our local airport. Oh well.
We went for our usual walk instead. Got myself a coffee, and she got a cute Snoopy from the Hallmark store next door. Got some kettle chips and a frozen pot pie (Dinner!) from the grocery store, and then we went to Subway for lunch. She ate her first sandwich! She usually picks it apart, but she ate it whole this time. We didn't have time for the playground on the way home today since she wanted to eat at Subway. (We usually take it to go.)
I'm getting ready to paint my nails. Nothing fancy. I'm a nail biter, and the only way I've found to keep myself from chewing them down to the cuticles is to paint them. I've learned to "like" the bitter stuff some people suggest. I'm weird.
LO totally figured out Halloween this year and got the biggest haul of all the kids! She walked up to every door and yelled "treeeeeat!" And then she would shake hands. I about died. Of course we had the annual meltdown, but this time it was courtesy of my 9 year old. He was, in fact, a GIANT douche this evening (yep. I called my kid a douche). Otherwise we had a great time! Happy Halloween, all!!!
raven and sgio7485 I thought we were done with that phase after we went through it awhile ago, but I guess not. At least now he's older and can help clean it up.... even if he laughs while he does it. 😒 kcrus that's how lo says trick or treat too! If I asked him "what do you say?" he'd say "thank you" right from the start. Apparently I've really hammered manners into my kid. Lol
Lo loved trick or treating this year. It did help that it wasn't 40° and pouring rain like last year. No tears and he talked to all the neighbors. By the end he was getting pretty bold and just trying to help himself to the candy bowl. His costume was a huge hit. So many squeals from the tween girls out trick or treating too.
sgio7485 Yes she did. She was a farmer, complete with egg basket and herding dog (Snoopy lol). Will post a pic soon.
Took LO ToTing this afternoon and evening. My dad took us to a local shopping center most the stores were participating in the event. We walked around from place to place, gathering candy. LO was more confused as to why there were so many skeletons, Iron Mans, and kid/animal hybrids running around. Next was my parent's neighborhood, which was just 4 houses including theirs. Came back to IL's neighborhood, hit 5 more houses. We only went to houses where we knew the people, so it narrowed the field. She started to lose it at the end and was getting goofy tired.
It was unusually warm here this evening. I've lived in CO for 17 years (minus 2 spent in OR), and this is the first and only time is has not snowed. I'm baffled, but at least LO got great weather.
Just got everyone settle, man am I tired. Halloween is not my favorite holiday. Sorry flame away. I just get so stressed and worked up about costumes and getting to all the houses we should. But the littles loves it. LO was also yelling "treat" and just helping himself to the candy bowls. DD loved the scary stuff that our neighbor does which surprised me. ashlantic funny think is I scheduled haircuts and flu shots today too. I already got mine at the OB but made one for the kids and DH.
