meggypoo1, becole, I was skeptical at first but it's awesome. If we ever manage to move we'll be installing motion sensors for low level lighting at night. www2.meethue.com/en-ca/
I also want to instal smart locks and a nest system on our next house.
MH bought a Philips Hue smart light system yesterday. We have 3 bulbs so far so have our nightstand lamps and the lamp in DS room wired. I set wakeup times for all of them this morning so the light slowly started to turn on and DS woke up nice and happy at 7am. He also asked for the light to be left on last night, so we set it to night light and turned it off with my phone 30mins later!
The future is now people!
MH bought this last week twinsie! He has put them in our basement, outside and plans to get a set for our bedroom next.

Do you love it? I accidentally set the master bedroom wakeup time for 5.45 so we woke up at 5.20 to the lights slowly coming on. Even though it was 5.20am it was a really gentle wakeup. I reset the time and we were both out of bed by 6.15

I don't think I have really seen the benefits of them yet seeing we don't have them installed in bedrooms yet. But I love that the outdoors light can be programmed to go off at a certain time! That's awesome!
DD woke up at 9 this morning and it was so nice to sleep in. She is clearly in a more perky mood and no medicine since bed last night. She still has a mouse whisper for a voice but less coughing too. It's not even lunch time and I'm tired of cartoons. Got a lot of cleaning/laundry done though so at least there's that.

How much $$
The bridge (control hub) is $60 and the multicolour LED bulbs are $50 each or you can get plain white bulbs for $15. The plain white ones allow you to control the lights on a schedule and remote turn them on, off, up, down etc but you can't control the tone.

We have the nest thermostat and I love it! We are completely spoiled with it. DH got a smart lock for his birthday and I absolutely hate it! He got the Kēvo because it's supposed to work with Nest but it only actually works like half the time.

oh no! Taking note not to get kevo. We're looking at the August or Yale systems. I think both integrate with nest.
We're going out to dinner tonight with some friends who are moving out of state on Friday. I'm going to try my hardest not to be rude as hell, but game starts at 7 and so does dinner. So I requested a place where the game should be on TV.
She is not interested AT ALL. I'm not pushing it anymore but casually mention it when it fits. Even got a potty chair this time. She is just content being in diapers. Haven't attempted it at all more than just asking her and encouraging. DD1 spoiled me and was super easy to train.
jcrewgirl we potty trained with the newborn and it actually was great. Ds1 decided he wasn't a baby like ds2- so he didn't want to wear diapers like the baby did. Daycare wanted us to try, so we did and it was actually pretty easy (for pee, we are just now getting poop in the potty- so tag at has taken a couple months). Think it's really when the kid has interest and mine had interest when ds2 was born.
