Pregnant After Loss / Pregnant After Infertility (PGAL/PAIF) check-in is posted once a week (generally on a Monday) for those of us who have unfortunately experienced a loss or a history of infertility and are now pregnant. Anyone who participates may start the thread each week.
Out of respect to all the ladies here, please add a trigger warning or spoiler if you decide to talk about any living children.
My past does not dictate my future. A previous m/c does not mean I will have another m/c.
Just because something sad is happening to another poster, does not mean it will happen to you. We all know m/c and complications are not contagious!
Hope does not make bad things happen" You cannot jinx your pregnancy by creating a ticker, getting excited, or telling someone. Live in the positive!
There is nothing I can do to prevent a m/c from happening. Worrying yourself sick doesn't prevent a m/c. And if (God forbid) it were to happen again, I know I will survive"
How far along are you?
How are you doing Physically/Emotionally?
Any upcoming appointments or tests?
Updates/Questions/Rants/Raves:
GTKY: Have you purchased anything for this baby(ies)?
(((Hugs))) .. I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow. FWIW, I have a friend who had similar issues (they actually thought she was having mini-strokes at first) and it ended up being migraine related.
Hugs .! I'm glad the numbness went away quickly. So scary. Sometimes anxiety can cause non-description physical symptoms.
I'm okay. Like Grover, I'm super anxious. I may go to get an ultrasound at this place right around the corner tomorrow. I should have asked my doctors office for an early morning ultrasound, but I get nervous. I also thought I'd be feeling movement by now, and then my worries would go away. But I'm not. I'm really just constantly googling and probably will be until my anatomy scan on Monday. This is awful. 😕
So many (((hugs))) glb30. The weeks in between appointments and/or ultrasounds are so hard. It's still early for movement, although I know it's easy to stress about it. I hope the ultrasound tomorrow brings you some comfort.
caer thanks! It helps to be reminded that the times in between these appointments are just stressful! My H is a lot more level headed and reminding me that this is just my anxiety, and we have no reason to think anything is wrong- which is helping!
How are you doing Physically/Emotionally? I'm feeling my anxiety start to ramp up about my A/S in two weeks. I haven't had an ultrasound since week 8 and I'm terrified we'll discover something wrong. Honestly, I really hate ultrasounds now.
Any upcoming appointments or tests? A/S on Nov. 16
Updates/Questions/Rants/Raves: I've felt a few little bumps from the outside, which has been nice.
GTKY: Have you purchased anything for this baby(ies)? Not yet. I really want to look for a going home outfit but I'm waiting until after the A/S to do any shopping .
How are you doing Physically/Emotionally? Physically I'm still kind of exhausted, but otherwise good. Feeling movement every day. Emotionally I'm doing alright!
Any upcoming appointments or tests? Anatomy scan in 2 weeks from tomorrow.
Updates/Questions/Rants/Raves: I finally told my older students about the pregnancy and they were all so excited and cute about it, which of course makes me panic a little about having to tell them all about ANOTHER loss. I'm just trying to embrace this current pregnancy and que sera sera.
GTKY: Have you purchased anything for this baby(ies)? Yes, I've gotten a few cute boy onesies/polos but nothing "big" yet. I'm waiting until the anatomy scan to pull out the crib and get the nursery going.
., I'm sorry you have been having a rough day with anxiety I'm sure that the numbness was some weird migraine related thing but obviously talk it over with your doc. So nice you have a school nurse - we haven't had one in years!
glb30 wishing you well for your appointment. Remember that it's common for some women not to feel movement until 22 weeks!
caer Since 8 weeks? Man that's a long wait! If you think it would help, you could call and ask for a doppler appointment sometime this week. The wait between appointments is so long and so stressful.
mosdub - thank you! I actually have a Doppler and I'm feeling movement so I know baby is basically ok in there. I just worry that they'll find something on the ultrasound because it's been so long.
And yay for feeling good and feeling movement! I'm glad you're "out" and that everything went well. ❤️
Thinking of you . I'm sure everything is fine according to Harmony, and I hope the ultrasound confirms that! Did you get to talk to your doc about the migraine/numbness thing?
., I'm so sorry for the confusing and scary news and hope you get into that ultrasound quickly for peace of mind. You probably already know this, but for what it's worth the harmony test is MUCH more accurate than the quad screen. Especially for trisomy 21, the chance of the harmony being wrong is very low.
...so I just looked up the test performance and did a little math with your original risk, and the chance that your harmony results are correct is 99.99852% (meaning no trisomy). Obviously you should listen to your dr and get the ultrasound and hopefully they will get definitive results and you can rest easy.
