It is rainy and gross here today. Not looking forward to the drive to work because it's only going to make me sleepier. On the plus side, I get to start at the station instead of the customer location, so it's 20 minutes closer.

Back to work today:( BUT it's employee appreciation day so they are ordering the good pizza for a pizza party. Deliveries at 11:30, 12:30, & 4:00. I think I'll stop by the break room at each one;)
Morning! It took me a long time to get going this morning and I hit the snooze 3 times. But now that I'm up I'm feeling pretty good!
LO has a new trick, he can say "peekaboo" although it's his own version. He says "PEE-bahhhhhhh", with the "pee" being a high pitched screech. It's hilarious.
Not much is going on today. I'm really looking forward to tomorrow because I'm having lunch with a former co-worker who I haven't seen in years and then for dinner I'm driving out to meet another friend at this really good Mexican restaurant. Stomach is growling already!

I took a day off today to go on a daycare tour, which I confirmed with the director yesterday, and she STILL was not there when I showed up. I also said I wanted to see center or corocle time and when I got there, the kids were gearing to go outside.
I live in the wrong f*cking neighborhood for daycares.
Highlight appointment at 12:30, so now I'm just sitting in the car drinking Starbucks and gonna stop by Gap and babies r us, so hopefully the rest of the day will be better.
Morning Ladies. I've been super sick since we got back from Disneyland which has sucked, especially being sick on Halloween after spending so much time working on G's costume. But I'm feeling mostly better and back at work today. Luckily it should be a pretty easy day. We're having a luncheon at a restaurant near my house for my boss' 20 year work anniversary so I get to go home early after that. Woot Woot. Happy Hump Day.
holliberry28, hope you're able to enjoy a day off despite the day care thing. I have a hair appointment in the middle of a work day in a few weeks and I'm already thinking of taking the whole day off as a "me" day and am fantasizing of what to do with it!
It's also a rainy yucky day here. I opted to go out to lunch with some people at work and ate my favorite fried chicken sandwich, so that kind of negates the workout I managed to do this morning, but was worth it.
Also, H took the morning off today to meet his FIL for a meeting with FIL's doctors about the possibility of putting him on the lung transplant list. I guess it was kind of good news/bad news in that the good news is he's functioning really well despite having final stage emphysema, and his doctor was a lot more optimistic about his life expectancy than FIL has been, but that his high functionality means that he wouldn't make the list right now. So they came up with a plan to try to improve his quality of life for now with some lifestyle modifications, and re-evaluate in another 3-6 months. I think the plan is really good, but there's still a lot of mixed emotions and things to be figured out on that branch of the family tree right now.
Yesterday we were at the park and there was a kid with a cold walking around carrying a water bottle. As soon as he sets it down (on the ground in the middle of the playground) LO runs over to it and puts his mouth on the straw of the bottle. NOOOOOOO! So, basically LO is definitely for sure getting a nasty ass cough/cold in the next few days. I feel nauseous thinking about it.
My school likes to pipe music through the intercom system in the hallways. It's always a variety of 'world music.' In the last 30 minutes I've heard steel drums, a mariachi band, and something pentatonic/east Asian.
Other thought, why don't the fifth graders here know how to correctly write a sentence? No uppercase letter at the beginning? No punctuation at the end of the sentence? It was a written assignment on through google classroom which meant they had immediate access to spellcheck. My eyes are burning.
Good thought for today-surprise donuts in the staff lounge! Whoo!

DH is telling me to take the sunglasses back to Nordstrom. That's what he did when LBB ran over his sunglasses while bike riding and they replaced them. (And he told them his kid ran them over)
This gives me an uneasy feeling. The sunglasses didn't fail because there was something wrong with them, they broke because I'm an idiot.
Thoughts? (About bringing them Nordstrom. Not about me being an idiot. All good in that department)
I guess DS missed me at preschool for the first time today poor guy. The teacher said he asked for me so many times the second half of the morning. He was super excited to see me and ripped his colouring out of his backpack as soon as he saw me. So I think it was mostly an off, Halloween hangover kind of day. It sounded like a few kids were "off" today and DS picks up on emotions so well it would probably really bother him if he saw other kids being a little extra crazy too.
BUT he also knew we were going to the post office after to pick up his car seat poncho-he was SO excited! He took the delivery tag into the office and handed it to the lady because he knew it was for him. We had to take his coat off right at the post office so he could wear it home haha.
Also this morning, DD somersaulted down the (5) steps in our mudroom. I would have been feeling so sick but she got up, hugged me, yelled at the stairs, and walked away back to business. Phew!
billyhorrible I understand your uneasiness, but if your honest with Nordstrom and they still want to replace them, why not?
Today flew for me. I knew it would because it was a double prep day and I had a meeting last period. Tomorrow however is parent teacher conferences so it will be the longest day evvvvvvvvveeeeerrrr.
billyhorrible, if the sunglasses are from Nordstrom, I'm guessing they're a nicer/more expensive brand? If that's the case, I'd probably take them because if I had dropped a bunch of money on them, I'd chance a trip to see if it can be replaced. Neither Nordstrom or the sunglasses manufacturer is likely to go out of business over them.
I'm notorious for losing/breaking those things though, so I normally just buy the $20 kind at Target and replace as needed
billyhorrible, I understand where you're coming from. I struggle with decisions like that myself, like taking something for "free" if it wasn't earned or warranted. So I would just go and be honest. Tell them what happened and if they replace them (which they probably will) than you won't feel any guilt surrounding it since you were up front. Sometimes accidents happen and it's cool when manufacturers can relate to that!
tiffbot, where's the pic of DS's poncho? Did he get a football themed one too? (Your DD's was team themed, right?)
I should have taken one on the way home because he ran most of the way flapping his arms like wings haha! His is more cozy winter sweater. I told the lady that made them that I'd take a nice picture of both my kids with them for her, so I'll share that when I do it! I am constantly getting compliments on DD's and DS's is gorgeous too, I'm so happy we got them. I think they'll also make for great summer camping cool evening cozy around the fire or walks too.
billyhorrible I would try to enchange too. Sunglasses are sometimes so expensive and they don't cost a lot for the manufacturer to produce so it could be something the retailer is open to understanding.
My job is majorly cutting into my TCF time. How rude.
Super rude. How is it going otherwise?
It's...interesting. So many policies/procedures that aren't followed at all. I'm trying not to make enemies just yet, but I'm not sure how much longer I can just look the other way.
