Just Another Manic Monday (Moans, Randoms, etc)

Currently working at home while waiting for a guy to come fix our fridge. On Friday it decided to leak. Thankfully minimal water damage, but currently we can't use the ice or water and I depend on the water for filtration (Chicago tap water is not tasty). 

Trying not to get too worked up about the election tomorrow. Just ready for it to be over! But my anxiety this week is high for that and then my first appointment is Thursday morning.

How is everyone else doing?

On the one hand, I'm really glad the election is almost over, but on the other hand, I'm still freaked out about the possible outcomes.

My husband flies to a conference today and won't be back until late Thursday. The actual childcare isn't terrible on my own, but all the extra administrative/operational stuff like doing both preschool pick-ups and drop-offs every day, making meals and packing lunches, doing all the dishes and cleanup, etc., on my own is just so much work. I feel like I'm not done with it every night until it's time to go to bed and then there's no downtime.

sdlaura - That's a ton of work to do on your own! Hope everything goes smoothly while your H is gone.

sdlaura, that is a lot to do! Hopefully, you can get a break when he returns.

sdlaura I commiserate. My husband travels for work a lot and I've learned to accept.. Only the bare minimum gets done. He comes home to dirty dishes, laundry, a full trash. I no longer feel guilty. Now if DSs lunch could pack itself I'd be golden

In September I started working on sewing a quiet book for DS for Christmas. Then first tri hit and I've been so exhausted and unmotivated that I haven't touched it in over a month. Today I finally had a little energy and I worked on it for DS's entire afternoon nap. It felt so good to make some progress and run the sewing machine again! Hopefully this continues so that I can actually finish by Christmas!

Holy moly, the bloat! All day I've been insanely bloated and I haven't eaten anything to justify it.

Today was a relatively mellow day for the most part. Teachers had professional development today but I already received the training as part of a pilot. I spent the day completing paperwork. H and DS came up to school and joined me and my crew for lunch out. Came home, did and Walmart run, heated dinner, gave DS a bath, and then my peaceful day came to a crashing halt. I was letting DS play naked for a few minutes in his room before getting ready for bed. I had my back turned and heard a squish. I turned around to see my son playing in poo. It got on toys, he rubbed it into his carpet. Of course I yelled in panic, he freaked out, H took FOREVER to come running to help. I wound up covered in poo because DS was panicking and holding his poo covered self is all that would comfort him. See what all you FTMs have to look forward to? Lol. The "code brown"s are worth it though, he's an amazing little man.

I'm actually the one who normally travels for work . But my travel is usually only for one night, two at most, so he has the quicker end in sight!

+1 for bathtub code browns. Pretty sure my DS would have a similar reaction to your situation and I would be subjected to poo snuggles.
