It's a 4 day week which I am so happy about, especially with the election tomorrow. Dealing with 7th and 8th graders has meant dealing with facts and parental opinions that are always slightly off from what the original intent was and trying weave my way through some interesting discussions.

Last night I was having contractions pretty regularly 8-10 minutes apart. Today I am 36+5 and my daughter was born at 37+3, so I am sort of expecting an early delivery this time as well - however was not expecting that pain last night!! I was 2 cm and 30% effaced last Thursday but of course that means nothing as to when Nora will actually come
I was able to sleep and came into work today. I am having pretty strong lower back pain but it doesn't seem like it is anything timetable right now. This baby needs to wait until at least Saturday night to come when my mom comes back from vacation in Jamaica!

Good morning everyone!
Had a busy weekend, but looking forward to the week ahead. Going to work from home tomorrow instead of today and then my mom arrives on Thursday night. No work on Friday and we'll have parent-teacher conference and then DH will leave to go get baby stuff from SIL while my mom and I hang with kiddo for the weekend. No real plans next weekend so am hoping I fit in lots of napping. Worked a lot on the nursery this weekend and did some baby laundry. It is looking so cute in there and becoming my favorite room in the apartment.
Last night for a split second I thought I was having contractions. But nope. Too much dairy. My stomach finally rebelled. We were in the car going home and DH almost turned around to head to the hospital. Then I heard my stomach gurgle, and I'm like "phew, just the lactose intolerance". I've had plenty of ice cream the last few months so not sure why this time it just pushed me over the edge. I got home, had some tea and suffered for 30 min the worst gas imaginable. I kept telling DH I'm never eating ice cream again.
And then this morning, DS decides to sleep in (never on a weekend) and we left late. At DC, I rolled my ankle or missed a step, managed not to fall fwd. But hit my tummy on my bent knee as I went down. Not too hard, but I was shaken up for a minute.
The silver lining today. My ex CW is bringing us each a 4 lb bag of gummy bears. She works for a candy co now.
We moved DS1 and DS2 into the same bedroom Saturday. They were both out cold until 5 am when DS2 cried. DS1 jumped out of bed and ran over to him to see what was wrong. Sweet, but no.... stay in bed please so he goes back to sleep. So I've been up since 5!
I'm working from home two days this week and get paid for two holidays (Election Day and Veterans Day). Yay!
harfamilyof3 I hope baby Nora holds out. I'm scheduled for an RCS on 12/1 and I'm hoping baby doesn't come before then for similar reasons.
littlelion I've experienced similar, but not sure it was from anything in particular. Then I had to run to the bathroom. Ha! Glad you didn't hurt in the fall!

littlelion I had a dream you went into labor. I think bc you mentioned bad back pain!

Yes, sooo bad. And that crossed my mind too. Since I didn't experience labor last time, I do think twice about my pains nowadays. Although "suffering" gas pains makes me think I don't have as high as a pain threshold as I thought I did.

FFCM: I have no energy to take the Halloween decorations down. So my house is staying decorated until DH gets home and can deal with it. I also think I'm going to have him pull down the Christmas decorations because I'm ready.
I've been having crazy back pain and pain in my lower right abdomen. My heating pad is my new best friend as a result.

kaydee0402,I've been thinking about decorating now for Christmas or at least just starting because I'm just going to get more and more tired, but I can't get past the whole "we don't decorate for Christmas until the day after Thanksgiving" family thing. Maybe I'll just wrap all the presents and label them so I can ship what I need to when the time comes and just bring them out later.

LADIES! Cause I can't find the post... Was everyone really excited about getting the Spectra Breast pump. I have a medela but I am not like its the best ever must keep it. I need to order it so its here on time. I am making sure it was the Spectra S2 everyone said was really good.
ON another note..I stated this in my weekly but it looks like we will have to purchase two cribs..lol and hubs is giving me the side eye..but oh well I need sleep and DD has decided that all beds are evil.
OMG with everyone and the contractions...I have had ZILCH.. I am always last Grrr...I want a 37-38 weeker that would be awesome sauce.
I had what turned out to be a busy (but good) weekend. We went to see Adele on Saturday, which was amazing. On Sunday I had a photography class (I'm going to attempt to do our newborn photos myself), and then I volunteered at a local festival. I told them I was going to be very pregnant and requested an indoor shift. Instead, they had me walking all over the place outside in the rain. I was so out of breath, having contractions from the physical activity, and terrified I was going to slip in the rain. It really took a toll on me, and when I went home I got straight into bed. Last night was definitely the most miserable/uncomfortable I have been in this whole process (couldn't find any position to sit/lay in, in so much pain), so clearly I need to take it easy.
We have our last baby class tonight, infant CPR and car seat safety. And then we need to make as much progress in the nursery as possible before the in-laws arrive on Friday for a week. So yeah...
My sister gave me the 3rd degree on DC for the kids yesterday. All good questions but very stressful. I tend to avoid facing my dilemmas. And now there's a question on it on Pregnancy. So, it prompted me to search online for in-home DC's and nannies. And that made me cry. DS really has started to like his DC, getting so much more out of it and learning all his friends names. I know he's young and he'll eventually get used to whatever new DC we end up, but still. I'm also scared that financially we can only afford someone to come to our house who isn't a professional nanny but a family member who is available and willing to care for kids. And then my kids will be safe and loved, but not get the socialization or learning opportunities. And this includes DH staying at home. Ugh, I hate this.

requiressnacks, is NST the same as BPP? I could Google this, but am too lazy so just wondering if you know. I have BPPs coming up. Also amazing that you will have two babies in two weeks!

Ok, here's some Random. My MIL is crazy about taking pictures. She always has two cameras with her, is in a photo club and does stuff all the time. So I thought it would be nice to ask her to do our family photos with the new little one when they are here for Christmas. She went Psycho. She's all "well, you'll need newborn shots, can your mom do those?" and "think about poses and what you'd like" and "we can use one of your lamps and take the shade off for lighting" OMG back off lady. First of all my husband and I know how to use a camera and plan on doing the newborn shots, I'm delivering a baby I think I'll be able to click a button on a camera when we get home. Second of all, You can just say "yes, I'd love to" Think about why we don't want to get professional photos done and don't make us regret this request. Third of all - I'll stop ranting because this is her first grand baby and I'm just annoyed. LOL Rant over.
WineNChocolate I got the Spectra S1 through my insurance (which is the same as the S2 except it has a battery in addition to the ability to be plugged in). I chose it over the Medela because I have sensitive boobies and I've heard from friends that it doesn't make your boobs/nipples as sore. I also like that it is a closed system. There are lots of cheapo adapters that allow it to work easily with Medela parts. I obviously have not tried it yet but it is super cute and portable!

Chiming in...NST is measuring the baby's heartbeat during his active time. They want to see the hb increase with his activity. The BPP that I got done is measuring the amniotic fluid...apparently baby makes the fluid and if it's decreasing they want to know that. If you get the BPP on a separate day from the NST (which I think is ideal) they also look for a good strong baby kick to pass you.

I went with the Spectra S2 since it was the free one with my insurance. I haven't experienced any pain with it yet. I do like all of the different settings and the light. My only complaint is since it doesn't take batteries I am tethered when it is time to pump. If I'm still pumping when it is time to go back to work I will likely buy a battery powered smaller pump to bring back and forth.
