Really dumb question about daycare party

Ok, I feel like the biggest idiot for overthinking this - today is DS's Valentine's day party at daycare.  He's not normally there today since I don't normally work Fridays, but they invited us to come for the party.  I signed up to bring carrots and dip, SO, I bought a couple bags of baby carrots, a thing of hummus, and a thing of ranch dip.

My dumb question - Do I just take everything in in the containers they came in?  Like, I'm just taking the carrots in the bag, and the dips in their plastic containers, right?  DH seemed to think I need to repackage or something and it didn't even occur to me until he said that this morning.

OMG, just....ugh.  ::facepalm::

I think you are fine. Maybe bring a couple of plastic spoons to put the dip on the kids plates. I am not sure if your DH is imagining some kind of toddler cocktail party, but the kids will be sitting in their seats with their own individual plates, and you will put a couple of carrots and some dip on each one.

Lol, yea, I don't know where he was going with that this morning.  I was getting the stuff out and he was getting ready to leave for work and was like, 'you're going to take it all just like that?  Don't you need to put it in...something?'  But he didn't know what I would put it in and neither do I cuz...well...toddlers.  Oy.  Haha, ok.  In the bag they go.  Plastic spoons, good idea though.

Another reason to leave it in the original package is so daycare can see the list of ingredients. Our daycare just implemented a policy that food either has to be whole fruits/veggies or food packaged with a list of ingredients. So, basically nothing homemade (boo!).

Depending on the age of the kids they might ask you to cut the baby carrots length wise. So I would either pre-cut it or be ready to cut it there if needed (I'm sure they have a knife).

Our school provides all flatware and paper goods and totally prepares all the food. No parents go to DC parties.

DH dropped off DS this morning. I gave him all the Valentines, a cup and two bags of cubed cheese.
When he got to the school DH asked them if he had forgotten DS' lunch or if the school was feeding the kids today.
He thought the cheese was maybe a snack or that I had accidentally set out the wrong items for him to take to school.

Sometimes I want to be a DH - thinking about how to present carrot sticks or just dropping off items; not handmaking valentines with three kids, preparing for three parties, starting the day at 6 AM at work so I can be at a party.....these guys....

Lol ok so it went exactly like pps said. They all had the snacks on their plates, they spooned out a plop of dip for everyone and that was that. On and I took WAAAAAAYYY tto much lol. ::shrug::

The only reason I was there today was because DS doesn't normally go on Fridays, but they invited us because he would.not.shut.up was very excited about Valentine's Day. Which was cute, but got old.

And I'm seriously side-eying the parent that sent Fun-Dip for Valentines.  They're TWO.  One, I mean, you can't get any more 'pure sugar' than pure sugar dip, and two, THE MESS!!!  OMG, I make a mess out of fun dip, I don't want to see where it ends up when a toddler's eating it.  I took it out of DS's box when he wasn't looking.  And I just ate it while he's napping.....

We always just bring the containers and they have plates for everyone.
