FedEx just dropped off my breast pump. I just ordered it (through Edgepark and my insurance) yesterday AM. I can't believe how easy it was!
I had my 35 week appt this morning. Super fun appointment with the GBS test and cervical check -- I get to skip the cervical check next week though. He said that since I'm not having any signs of pre-e, that my BP #'s are super worrisome for the time being, but if they stay in the range they are, I'll be having this baby a couple of weeks earlier than I'd planned. If I'm still getting these readings once I hit 37 weeks, he'll go ahead and deliver her. I'm perfectly fine with that -- I'm so stinking uncomfortable now!
Lucy, I had my GBS test yesterday, but no cervical check yet. I'm on weekly appointments now. Hopefully all works out well with your BP.
So, my in-laws are coming today/tomorrow, and my SIL just emailed to say that she and her husband are both sick with sore throats, headaches, etc., but they're looking forward to seeing us... I mean, I get it, you don't want to cancel your trip, but SERIOUSLY. If I get sick at 35-36 weeks because of this, I'm going to be FURIOUS, as I've avoided being sick this entire pregnancy. UGH. UGH. UGH.

Same here Lucy. 35 wk check. The bpp was excellent. Did the gbs and cervical check...1 cm dilated. My bp was high 140/90. Left sample to check for protein. Fx the high bp was stress related. So much stress right now. I was at the office last night until 9:30. :/ My ob is so nice, listened to my problems and let me have a good cry.
Headed to the office. No traffic due to veterans day. But everyone showed up to the hospital, traffic jam all over the place.
lola, I've just accepted that I'll most likely be sick when I have my c-section. I've managed to stay relatively healthy since the bronchitis I had in the 1st trimester. My kids are always bringing home colds, and the worst time to be coughing will be right after a c/s, so that's when they'll probably share a cold with me.
Lucy, I can't even imagine being sick with little ones! Yikes, I didn't even think about being sick during recovery. And yes, thankfully I had already purchased the giant pump bottle of hand sanitizer in preparation for baby's arrival. My husband is also making them stay upstairs and out of the kitchen until they feel better.
I'm hanging out in a conference room at work today because my list of to do's is 1,000 miles long and I cannot handle my co-worker who doesn't shut up all day long.... GRRR
Thankful I've had the energy both mentally and physically this week to get so much done, but still.... so much to do at work and home... it hurts.
Tomorrow I'm having a sushi date with my old roommates who are now spread out across the state - so that should be super fun! The next day we're having one of my best friends from HS and her DH over in the afternoon. Then my mom comes to stay for about a week, guessing that's when my energy totally drops out! She is non-stop and wears me out when I'm not pregnant...
I'll also add that I'm doing all of these things with a constant sick feeling in my stomach over the state of our political affairs. I'm trying to stay away from the headlines but it feels even worse to just ignore everything when it all feels so important and scary
Lucy, my dr will do my cervix check next week and I'm nervous. When it was done a few weeks ago I was totally not expecting an entire hand shoved up there. Owwwww...... Also, glad to hear that you're doing well and good with the plan to get baby out a little early!
lola, that is so rude! You obviously don't need sick people around you right now. I'm sorry you're dealing with that. Maybe drop some not so subtle hints about your compromised immune system?!
littlelion, I'm sorry work is so stressful right now (I am in the same boat, obviously). Hoping your sample comes back good and you don't need to worry!
Finding some non offensive smelling hand sanitizer is definitely on my list for this weekend. I plan to have a few bottles spread around the house for us and guests once baby comes.
lola, ugh! Why do sick people insist on still visiting? I hate when people do that. If you're sick stay away!
@kc295905, I'm so jealous! I love Chick-fil-a. I may need to send DH to get some for lunch tomorrow.
My mom has been here since yesterday. DH and I took an infant CPR class last night, so both grandmothers babysat. My mom is insisting on coming down all next week too. Don't get my wrong, I'm grateful for the help, but I'm dreading having her here all next week. I just want some alone time with my babies.
@winnifred - I'm with you there! I had my BPP today and an unexpected check on my cervix today and the gbs. I felt like he was waaay up there and it was so uncomfortable. I'm 2cm dilated and 80% effaced. The baby scored a 6 out of 8 on the BPP, so they did a NST and baby passed! I'm going back Tuesday for another BPP (they didn't see any practice breaths today in the 30 min) and they will recheck labs and urine. If baby doesn't come on their own, he's inducing me on the 22nd since my Bp has still been elevated. (Unless they'd do it earlier for whatever reason)
I just got super nervous and can't believe that in 11 days our baby will be here. I'm glad that DH was along today to hear all the news.
For now, we are just resting and then will finish up some odds and ends this weekend, G and I have a baby shower tomorrow and Sunday I'll just be finishing the hospital bags. Kind of bummed we might not be home for thanksgiving, especially with G, so really hoping we'd be able to come home that day to be with her.
Thanks for the shared outrage Winnifred, emilie and Becca. The weirdest part is that my SIL is also pregnant!!! Like, you know how miserable being sick while pregnant is becuase you are in fact sick while pregnant yourself. I just do not get it. But there's nowhere else for them to stay, and this is one of her only chances to see her parents this year (we all live in separate places), so I know there's no way she'll reconsider.
Winnifred, luckily he's letting me skip the one next week. He usually does them weekly, but since we already know I'm a repeat c/s, it's kind of pointless. It's hilarious that he thinks I can relax during those stupid things. I swore he had his whole damned hand up there and it HURT. I'm still sore at 3pm and my appointment was 8:30 this morning. Ugh.
Also, I'm with you on trying to avoid political news right now. I know it's just going to get me worked up -- I can't even go near facebook right now because people I never expected to make me angry are really pissing me off. I've been completely shocked by some of the horrible things said by people I have considered relatively sane and non-hate filled friends in the past.
hmr11913, That's kind of exciting that you'll have a baby by the 22nd. I hope everything stays relatively healthy until then though!
hmr11913, oh man, an unexpected cervix check would be awful!! So sorry you had to go through that. Also I'll just sheepishly ask, since I feel like I should know, what is a BPP?
I'm jealous that you have a legitimate countdown to baby, and honestly, I think Thanksgiving with my baby in the hospital would be preferred to the actual regular holiday celebrations - but I'm a Thanksgiving grinch. Christmas all the way!!!

My Mom came up after our last hospital visit. Probably because I totally lost it on the phone with her when I didn't know what to do (go in or just stay home) Thanks so much for the encouragement I got on here after sharing.
So we've been running around doing errands and now I have three blankets to make, two sets of pajamas, and a baby carrier cover to make. My mom wears me out too!!! I'm thrilled she's here though. I"m so much more calm and so is my husband. The plan is for her to drive home Sunday (8 hour drive) and she'll be back when they induce me on the 1st and stay for a week, then her and her husband will come back the 22-27. We're having all kinds of family visiting over Christmas to meet our baby girl, but all but my mom and her husband are staying in a hotel.
My back has been hurting so bad so today I dug out all my clothes in search for where my belly band was and it was so easy to find so Now I have to figure out where to put all my non pregnant clothes - I need bins. The belly band is a dream today though. Although baby girl is pressing right on the elastic, I'm pretty sure she's not a fan.
Hope you all have the best of weekends and get lots of rest.
Lucy, LOL thank you - I needed a laugh today! Isn't there a better way for them to do those checks?! Last time at least my DH was with me and could hold my hand... with the regular checks I'll have to just go back to my office by myself and whisper my apologies to my vag until she starts feeling better.
And politically I keep having these moments where I think - well one thing or another will get him kicked out of office... but then I remember that he gets out of everything horrible he's ever done and will never face any consequences. And then I feel even shittier and wish my mind could just turn off.

I totally wouldn't mind being there over the holiday, other than the fact that we have a toddler at home. My MIL is already saying how my SIL will be coming over to see the baby when we get home since they'll be in town.... And not to be rude, but her 3 kids are always sickly and I really just don't want everyone over here. Ugh
A BPP is a biophysical profile - and no worries, I had no idea either lol. Basically it was an u/s to check on the size of baby, check the heart and then look for "practice breaths"... they needed 3, 30 second, breaths in 30 min. Unfortunately baby didn't have any... but he said doesn't mean they aren't doing it, just didn't happen in that 30 min. So he wants to redo it Tuesday in hopes of seeing some I think.
I made a few freezer meals today. Went to make breakfast burritos and all my stupid gluten free tortillas disentegrated. So i have a crap-ton of cooked eggs and sausage and nothing to put them in. Now it's nap time.
Hold on... Now someone has to explain to me what exactly they do during a cervical check. I assumed it was just like when they take a look during the annual appointment with the speculum, but clearly it is not. What am I in for?
Winnifred, he's been given permission to be a horrible person now. It's like we've elected the drunken racist perverted uncle that everyone avoids sitting next to at holidays to office. Up until now we could just avoid sitting next to him at gatherings, so he wouldn't pinch you then laugh when you reacted, and pretend he doesn't exist the rest of the year. But now he's been put into a huge position of power and everyone basically told him "It's okay that you're a bigoted dickhead. You be you!"
lola, they're feeling to see how dilated you are, among other things, like where the baby is, etc.
When he was done, he told me that my cervix is closed tight, but he could feel the baby's head down there. I could tell she'd dropped over the past couple of days because I can suddenly breathe and sleep in more than one position! Precious oxygen -- I've missed it!
Oh lola, the dr will shove their entire hand up your vag. I was not expecting it when I had it done a few weeks ago, and DH was horrified when he saw what the dr did! LOL

We will get through this... I promise
Pretty much what it felt like. I thought he was gonna push me right off the top of the table! Like what are you digging for in there!!!!
When can I look forward to my MW shoving her hand up my lady parts? 35 weeks? Sounds unpleasant.
My dr does them at 36 weeks, however since I had G early and he was doing the gsb test today they surprised me.... and yes, you can decline them if you wanted.

Ok, here's my question. My ob also said she felt baby was head down after checking my cervix. My ob is a woman so small hands. Does that mean if I have sex with dh now he'd be poking the baby's head? That's his hangup for the past few weeks and I've just laughed it off. But if she can feel baby with her finger....makes me wonder.
