Weekend Randomness

Hola ladies! How's your weekend?

We had lunch as a family...at the actual table. So nice. During the week I'm usually eating standing in the kitchen doing something else.

We went to target which was fun. And later I think we'll visit my dad. Our neighbor the mechanic is supposed to look at my car. I had trouble starting it a couple mornings.

I bought the turkey breast to make in the crockpot. I planned for tomorrow but it takes 2-3 days to defrost. #turkeynewbie

Happy to say I have successfully organized my own mini friendsgiving
My girlfriend & her DH are coming and they also have a J15 baby and she's inviting her friend who has a 1.5 year old. It's gonna be fun!!!

ourcrazynavylife yay for Friendsgiving! It's probably my favorite tradition that we have in our group of friends. Sounds like you have a fun little one planned- and since you're hosting, you get all the leftovers. Bonus!!
laceysbryan sorry you've been swamped with everything lately. Keeping fx you get your acceptance to nursing school soon! Hope you can carve out some time for yourself too.
raven sorry this house hunt has proven so difficult. Hopefully it'll be more of a buyer's market when you look again. Glad you were able to have a fun family day at the pool!

Pictures went so well this morning! I was a little worried because sometimes lo gets in a mood and doesn't want to cooperate. He was an awesome little model, smiling and turning on the charm. The wait to see previews is going to kill me.
Dh leaves for China tomorrow so the rest of the day is getting ready for that. Ughhh. Hopefully the next week flies by! I suppose I should get up and be productive, but this couch is comfy and my football team is actually winning for the first time since September.

Put it in in the morning frozen and you should be fine!

Too many feels going on today.

Finally buried my BIL this morning. Nice to finally have peace and closure for this family.

My mom's dog had a seizure last night from a possible brain tumor. I remember picking him out of the litter, afraid he was going to be put down. (A common practice the local humane society used to hold for all pitbulls, even though he's half boxer.) The vet said he's doing better, and my parents picked him up. I told DH I don't care what my dad says, it seems likely she's getting a puppy or kitty for Christmas.

LO seems to be in a mood today. She's in timeout right now for drop kicking my tummy. Thanks kid. While you're wearing your big sister shirt too.

At least DH and I got a nap in while she slept.

Really? I might still have to wait. We have afternoon plans and dh won't let me leave the crockpot on all day unattended. I thought that was the point.

Waiting for dinner to be done. Chicken, rice and corn on the cob. I actually have butter to spread on the corn! Very excited over this.

Dh bought a macbook. I spent 2 hrs trying to figure things out for him. I told him to get windows. Grrr. I hate apple.

Leo is fast asleep. At 6:30 he said all done to toy story and asked for bed. He had a good nap. Maybe he ate too much at dinner and felt sleepy afterwards

I'm going to go spend some quality time with dh. But if he opens his mac, I swear...

Just dropped an ass ton of money at BBB but I got all the goodies on my christmas wish list and a bunch of stuff off the baby's registry. Saved $150 with the veterans day sale.

Ugh. Definitely going on a very solid 24 hour headache you guise. I'm not calling it a migraine bc my vision is fine and I don't feel nauseous but eeeeeeemergerd. Hard to be a mom and wife and student when I want to close my eyes and hide under the covers.
I had some wine and it didn't help. Boo.

And DH keeps buying LO toys when he has been told nothing else before Christmas. He bought this plane today. Which LO loves. But damn it man just stahp.

DH and I keep having the same argument and it's driving me nuts. He thinks it's okay to curse around LO, and I don't. His argument is she's not repeating them yet, so it's okay. No, no it's not dude. She's learning to talk, and you're teaching her those words instead of "monkey" and "tree". Grr...

laceysbryan raven my hubbie does both of these things! Curses in spanish and keeps buying leo toys. esp when leo gets into movie like finding dory, he wants to buy him all the movie stuff. The cursing is going to be an issue. Dh doesn't do it much but his family, omg.

littlelion Every now and then, fine. We are a family of gamers, it's inevitable. I get upset when he's driving and "f you you f-ing f-er, piece of sh*" (actual quote from yesterday) flies out.
laceysbryan I have the problem with buying stuff. I'm really trying but all the holiday clothes are in stores, and they're so darn cute. Or target, that damn dollar section gets me every time. Lol

Woke up to find both earrings fell out while I slept, and I can only find one. Boo.
Today would have been BIL's birthday, so we're going out to brunch to celebrate his life. I might have a mimosa; he would have wanted me to lol.

I have to drop dh off at the airport in a little bit. Other than that, not much going on today.

laceysbryan I didn't always feel nauseous with my migraines, sometimes it was just the awful pain. Maybe a rebound headache? I had to be really careful to not overuse the same type of headache meds. I hope you're feeling better today. I know how much it sucks to struggle with headaches.
raven dh and I have both had to watch our mouths. It's such a bad habit. Enjoy that mimosa. And hugs. You've had a really rough go of things lately. Hope things turn around!
littlelion we leave our crockpot on all the time and leave it. Tell YH it'll be fine. We did have great weather! It was nice and cool but sunny and gorgeous.

Hey anyone measuring LO's height? My dad reminded me of this last week. We used to track my brothers height on a door frame as he grew up. I should start that with leo. I'll be at BRU today buying diapers for baby. I can see what stuff is sold for this kind of thing.

We have a felt one, but I'm terrible about keeping it up. I should start. She is going to be tall. (DH is 6'6)

littlelion I tracked it in her baby book for the longest time. I just measured her the other day and she's 33 1/2 inches!!

I did order a super cute growth chart for the new baby's nursery since we're actually going to be here for a while. I think I may use it for both of them.

Hi Ladies I had a busy past 3 days off.. MIL and I had a garage sale at her house on Friday and Saturday I made $200... LO was with us both days and he did great outside with us...he is talking so much more lately... DH did a lot of clearing and work on our land yesterday while we were gone...MIL has LO today so he can get more done... this is the 1st time she has had him all alone since he was 4 months old....A part of me is nervous but I know he will be ok with her...
I order my Turkey yesterday (we are getting a fresh turkey)...DH asked if I wanted him to fry it again and I said no I want a baked turkey this year...
Now to plan out the rest of the menu...please feel free to give me ideas...we are doing turkey and stuffing, ham, green bean casserole, salad, a few apps... I will make mashed potatoes...I feel like I need one or 2 more things...there will be 4 adults and the LO
